Not sure on the accuracy of this but the daily looking glass is reporting RB has turned down a 100k per week contract and EFC have walked away from the negotiations. If this is true what a silly boy. He's pretty much guarenteed first team football at EFC which I don't think he'll get anywhere else unless he's prepared tp go to a club placed lower in the league.

3.) 13 Jun 2017 18:34:02
Ah. Woken up a bit now. Either Ross or Rubens Barichello.

4.) 13 Jun 2017 18:35:57
Ross Barkley.

A well respected national newspaper is reporting that a board meeting has been called for this week to discuss el comico's future. Fingers crossed.

An old friend of mine who lives in Johannesburg seems to think that Steven Pienaar is set to join Kaizer Chiefs at the end of our season.
Might be a good thing for both parties if it's true.

2.) 31 Mar 2016 16:59:51

Guardiola has finally opened up and said he wants to coach in England, c'mon Bill get the cheque book out. (I can dream can't I)

Forever In Blue Gene

{Ed025's Note - im not his biggest fan to be honest gene, he needs big money to operate and as you well know thats not our style mate..

1.) 06 Jan 2016 12:55:45
Like all these top managers or coaches.they are good with money.the good ones are like Hughes, pulis and pardew, who do well with limited resources.

2.) 06 Jan 2016 13:29:08
Not to mention, walk into teams that are Champions league winners, then move on in 3/ 3 yrs to another Champion winning team. Think most of us would have a chance of being successful then, along with the money at their disposal.

More footbal related than Everton related, has any English team ever won the top flight league one season then been relegated the next?
If not then Leicester are in real danger of setting a new record.

On a lighter note loved Ian Wright's comments on Ross's pre-goal celebration 'I wish I'd have thought of doing that'.
Now there's a man who knew where the back if the net was, unfortunately against us a lot of the time.

I believe City are the only English club to do this, way back in the late 1930's. Never happened in the modern era though.

2.) 05 Feb 2017 19:37:23
leeds utd was my first guess but then I recalled they only just survived only to go the following season.

Spud is correct.

3.) 05 Feb 2017 23:57:28
I think Ipswich Town won it under sir Alf Ramsey, he left for the England job and they went down.

I thought the change of shirt sponsor for yesterdays game was a really nice touch. A real worthy cause getting some good exposure. Well done to Everton and Chang.

I know the money from Chang is important bit if moshiri could afford it I'd much rather keep it (obviously I know its not going to happen) .

Couldn't get to the game today, far too much going on in the Hunt family due to the time of year so ended up listening to the game on local radio.
In the end of match phone in it was suggested Koeman worked better with Sammy Lee who has just been released by England.
I've never met him but apart from his obvious links to that shower from across the park he's supposed to be a really nice bloke and a top coach.
Would anyone accept him at Everton if it was ever mooted?

Forever In Blue Gene

1.) 10 Dec 2016 18:33:06
I would welcome Sammy Lee BG, I don't care who they played for or what team they support as long as they do a good job, I think he is a very good coach and would like him to be part of our back room staff.

Just had a laugh with my lad. He pointed out that united introduced pogba in a glitzy video with him wearing the club shirt and a new hair do; while city introduce stones wearing the grounds mans spare waterproof jacket.

I read an article the other day that stated Rooney is rapidly running out of options due to the transfer fee and his high wage demand.
Surely he's made more than enough money out of the game and can afford to take a pay cut in order to play first team football, not necessarily at Everton but at any club that all promise him regular game time.

Wasn't Mooey a character in the tv drama Scully from the early 80's? Did more to sterotype scousers than Harry Enfield did.

I'd second that Al, the Everton Supporters Club NYC go there. A friend of mine went to NYC the same as you and looked on the internet for the best place to watch Everton while he was there. He ended up in Mr Dennehey's, had a great time, made some friends for life and even got offered a job. I'm jealous of you, have a great time and fingers crossed for 3 points.

Agree with most of your points tadpole but not too sure on letting Jags go just yet.
A bit like Barry, his best years are probably behind him now but his experience and presence in the dressing room will be important with both domestic and European games coming thick and fast in the new season.

I wouldn't say let down ant. The calibre of the signings we've made so far gas been exceptional and the player's we've been linked with in the last few days far exceed our targets in previous transfer windows.
All in all I'm very happy so far. Another signing or two today would be nice but I won't be too disappointed if we don't.
