Fernando to man city deal is off.

It said on tv were looking to bring someone in and we were after him in the summer.

BigHarv

1.) Wouldn't mind Eva banega or the rapid Vienna striker that was smashing them in.

2.) CITY aren't signing him because the price was unreasonable. I think you can rule us out of contention.

Everton are tracking 17-year-old Genoa defender Marco Soprano, according to respected transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzo
Roberto Martinez is looking to the future and to build a young talented defensive back line with Dutch defender Johnny Heitinga poised to leave the club with Roma lurking.
Soprano could be brought in and to gain experience the young defender could be sent out on loan. Soprano is receiving big praise by the Italian press and is seen as one the brightest prospects to come out of Genoa.

BigHarv

1.) Even I believe we need to Distin replacement nearly soon. But I think it is second priority because we have Alcaraz and Distin coming back within 2 week. But striker we have no back up, also central midfielder. So pre contract sign this youngster for summer is good option.

A report on the tv says barkley recently spoke to gerrard while on england duty.

"I was a bit star-struck when I first joined up but Steven was good to me when I was away. I sat next to him on the coach and he gave me loads of advice.

"He said the big hitters are going to be looking at me but the main thing for me is to stay with the club I'm at, the team I support and love, which is Everton."

BigHarv

1.) Whether you are a blue or not, you have to admire Steven Gerrards loyalty to his club, and the fact he is instilling in Ross to be loyal to the club he loves, speaks well of the man. The full article/interview was in the Independant I believe. It bodes well that Ross really loves Everton and won't do a Rooney ( I honestly believe Rooney wants to return, this will happen sooner than people think)

2.) That's because when Gerrard hangs up his boots, he will be back at Goodison Park supporting the Blues, his boyhood club.

Andy The Chef.

3.) Is this the same loyal gerrard that handed in a transfer request after Liverpoo won the champs league? Still remember watching the fans burning his shirt on sky!

4.) Im not a fan of Gerrard but if Ross takes his advice and stays at Everton, thanks Gerrard

Barkley and stones gave a really good showing for the young lions last night, was only scotland u21's, but big things to come from these two and a few other at the club.

p.s erik dier played for england last night, was he on are books last season? thought he was on loan or something.

BigHarv

1.) He was on loan mate. plays in portugal, supposed to be decent

2.) We had the option to buy dier for 250k but we turned it down

3.) On Loan from Lisbon, I'm not sure how he got to Lisbon because he is from Cheltenham, but he looked decent.

4.) He looks really good he wanted a chance at everton and moyes never gave him it is impressing in Portugal though could go bck in for him I think

Not a rumour but this is what RM has said about the foreign player situation in the EPL, all sounds good to me.

The responsibility is - you don't do something for someone else. We do it for Everton. Our football club has always had terrific young talent. We need to make sure we use that talent in the first team. To do that we need to help them and have a structure where they can be given an opportunity to show what they have got. Ross Barkley is a great example. We have got similar cases now, deeper down. I do feel if you want to be successful at any club, you need to have good young talent, and a good young generation that can be guided, representing the values of the football club, on the football pitch. That can help the foreign additions, (in terms of) how to play and how to represent the club.

Just a quick word on barton.
Some have said it already, but big Dunc has one of the worst disiplinay records in football, and got put in prison for an assult on the pitch.
Yet he was and still is a club ledgend.
If he's willing to take a pay cut and is on a free, then give him a shot.
We have a great squad, but more depth is always welcomed. COYB!

BigHarv

1.) Very true.

2.) The difference between big dunc and Barton is off the field!

Yeh big dunc did some silly things on the field but off it he was never in the news or in trouble with the police!

That's where joey's problem is, I get he's a huge evertonian and wants to play for our great club, but that isn't enough!

We are everton!
We have principals, standards and integrity! Why go back on everything we have done in the community and with the kids (ticket prices etc) and sign somebody who stubs ciggies out on youth team players, kicks and punches opponents and punches people in town just because he feels like!!

We are way way better than that!

3.) Are we really that desperate that we want him at our club?. Anyway now we've knocked him back he's in the press saying he didn't want to come anyway, Marseille are his number one choice!. Say's it all about the lad.

I think 20% of 20 million is 4 million.
So we would make a profit of 1 million? {Ed025's Note - we paid £15M, so the profit would be £5m...so 20% of that is £1m to Leige...would leave a £4m profit harv..

I think we all respect moyes for stabilizing the club.
But when push came to shove I feel he never had that killer instinct.
Too many times last season we could have picked up the 3 points, but never went for the jugular.
