I am I the only one who feels like we've been juped for the last few years. One of the best managers in the world has stay at a club with no money (the best club with no money)without any gripes, got lesser Man United players with no competition for their signatures! COYB, he's a legend but still feel cheated : (

Winning a couple of games in Europe means nothing - winning trophies with Celtic is easy winning the championship or even the 1st division - as for operating on a shoestring it's relative to your competition and compared to the rest of Scottish football Celtic own the shoe shop and the shoe factory!
No one in Scottish football is worth a look - jelli and Naismith! For anyone!

A few lucky breaks in Europe does not make you a good manager - it's harder to lose the league as Celtic without rangers than it is to win it!
Lennon has no class - being angry and aggressive is not intensity or passion
Agree0
Disagree0
Now who do we know who is angry and agressive, and got 13 premier league titles? As a Celtic fan I hope Neil is more ambitious than going to everton. Managing Celtic is one of football's most difficult jobs, especially with the attacks, bullets, bombs and ongoing character assassinations. He still has work to do at celtic but is maybe tired of the nonsense from govan. Managing everton these days is a bit like leading the liberal party. You have to put on a good show but nobody expects to be no. 1. You can win 7-0 at Celtic and still get stick. Good luck, I've been at goodison a number of times and always liked it.

A question for ed02, ed25 believes you know your 'onions' haha, as he put it, so iv noticed you are convinced Moyes is off, but I also notice you comment about Martinez bringing players in with him. So with these comments do we take it that you information puts Martinez as evertons front runner to succeed at everton?
EverTheOptimistic {Ed002's Note - There was no doubt that Moyes would be leaving at the end of this season and he has been the preferred choice for Manchester United since around the turn of the year. What came as a surprise was the timing of the resignation of SAF. As I explained a while back I was expecting Moyes to either take a year off or to take on a job on a rolling one-year contract - specifically teh head coach role at Schalke 04. Martinez will certainly be one of the managers to be considered over the summer - and if Wigan are relegated, a very likely candidate for the role.}

ON EVERTON SITE
Everton can confirm that David Moyes will leave the Club at the end of the season.
The Manager met Chairman Bill Kenwright early yesterday evening (Wednesday 8th May) and confirmed his desire to join Manchester United.
The Chairman, on behalf of the Club, would like to place on record his thanks to David for the massive contribution he has made to Everton since his arrival in March 2002. He has been an outstanding Manager.
During his tenure at Goodison Park, David has taken charge of the team on over 500 occasions including four European campaigns.
His final two games as Everton Manager will be the remaining Premier League matches against West Ham United and Chelsea.
Everton officials will start the search for a replacement manager immediately.

I really think Moyes is a hypocrite. Not one for conspiracies but was the FA cup game with Wigan part of this process? Come on boys we can win this this year. righto. He leaves with many plaudits byt he won not a jot for us {Ed025's Note - bit unfair that mate..

He should be treated like a Judas. Not for taking one of the top jobs in Europe but for letting his contract run down. He moans about the money we have to spend on players and now leaves us with no choice but to go for a manager out of a job or pay compensation. It really stinks, this has been in the offing for a while. JUDAS

Good luck to Mr Moyes he finally got the job he had been waiting for. Its nice to see that he is honouring his contract as we still have unfinished business, we can only finish as high as 6th, but we must finish above the darkside.
Also something thing that may aide us in the future. If we sign a manager who Moyes respects we may well get first dibs on any loan signings.

I will support the team this weekend but will turn my back on Moyes. {Ed025's Note - i agree with the gardening leave mate..i dont want to see him booed or chanted against, he did a great job for us, and i for 1 appreciate it..

This will sound like one of those “my mates dogs uncle” lines, I’m about to come out with and you can give me all the stick you want. But …. my very good mates ma (basically my 2nd ma) baby-sits for Steve, through school relations (not going into too much detail cause that wouldn’t be fair but a private school in Cheshire). I don’t have a clue who is coming in next. But fully intend to get her to at least ask the question. An if I do get an answer and the potential manager is anywhere near 33/1 I will be putting a s*%* load on it.
Personally I would want Laudrup – great tactician, knows the game inside out, and is a decent guy who holds himself well. Realistically all these melts shouting up vitor (your jumping on a bandwagon and know nothing about the lad other than he won the title in Portugal 2 years in a row) Look at AVB, came crashing down to earth at Chelsea. Need someone who knows the English game. I don’t know why everyone is jumping on Martinez’s back. He plays good football, would be inheriting a team light-years ahead of Wigans (minus the 3-0 trouncing). Yes Moyes had no money to spend, but he's spent a lot more than Roberto – Yak, Beattie, Johnson, Felli, Billy, Mirallas – the list goes on. He would fit right into the mould of play were moving towards. With Steve as his number 2 or someone else that’s been at the club, the grit, graft an steal should stick.

Back to my own site? I'm a blue an have been for over 30 yrs lad, I'm only sharing what I've been told by my mate up2 u 2 believe it lad, an as for the tenner it's all I've got spare so at that price was worth a punt. So instead of assuming everyone who posts something you don't agree with is a kopite have a quick think because maybe just maybe they might actually be telling the truth mate!!

Apparently Laudrup has a £5m buy out clause in his contract

From what I've heard it is 10M. whether it will take that much I'm not sure and whether he will be our number 1 target I'm not sure. but I sure hope he is.

He has European football why leave

He is my number 1 as well, he has this aurora about him, that gets the best out of everyone he is around, and has shown he is a winner.
But as has been said, I can't see it happening, not only the buyout, but he seems settled at Swansea and is building something there.

We'll probably have the cheek to try offer Swansea the 5m in installments

I think even 5m is out of our range, if we did have 5m to spend rather used it on a player and get a manager who is out of contract

It will be mark hughes as everton will not want to pay out money to other clubs.

Cup final win against bradford is no cv. yes he has done well but so did mike walker and look what happened there

We don't have huge amounts to pay out, but we're not broke in the way that one poster seems to be suggesting.
I'd love to see either Laudrup or Vítor Pereira, though I'd also be happy with Poyet. Also, a name I haven't seen linked that I'd be up for (hough I suspect I might be shouted down for this) is Steve Clarke.

Haha, really? It will take a couple of weeks at the least.

We won't get him. but why would it take a couple of weeks the moyes deal has took 2 days at the most
Agree0

The Moyes deal is more straightforward, no buyouts. He's out of contract so it's simply a case of signing a contract with United. Simples. We're most likely going to have to go through the process of negotiating compensation with other clubs, something that will take time to get a good deal. Unfortunately also means less £££'s for the transfer market.

how do you know the moyes deal has took 2 days? his contract is ending this year, all he has to do is say "Hey Bill, i'm not signing a new contract" and then say to Manchester United "Ok i'll take the job". Takes about 1 day at best?

Mackay had already booked to visit a number of Premiership managers following Cardiff's promotion so there is nothing in it.
