ED001 OR ED002 any idea who we may be looking for as a new manager? {Ed002's Note - See earlier answers please.}

Believable1 Unbelievable17

I am I the only one who feels like we've been juped for the last few years. One of the best managers in the world has stay at a club with no money (the best club with no money)without any gripes, got lesser Man United players with no competition for their signatures! COYB, he's a legend but still feel cheated : (

Just bumped into Steve Round in the chippy, reckons that Man Utd's David Moyes is ready to move to Everton. It's on! #ITK

Believable28 Unbelievable18

It couldn't have been Steve Round. because he's been sat with me & Beyonce in Mackies on Church Street all night. he's hasn't even got up to go the loo!

neil lennon will be interviewed for the job, not to say its in the bag though

Believable7 Unbelievable28

Bookies favourite now, as little as 6/4

Agree0 Disagree0

By David Weir, Duncan Ferguson, Naismith and Jelavic! Look forward to that!

Agree0 Disagree0

Bill sorted the compo out then already has he?

the more I think about it though the more I like the prospect of Lennon. Forget the weak Scottish league and all that crap the mans won trophies. You can only beat what's put in front of you. And on a shoestring budget similar to what bill can offer

Agree0 Disagree0

Please, tell me you are jocking me please. rafa for me

Agree0 Disagree0

10 May 2013 03:26:02
Lets not forget Lenny guided a some what weak scottish side to last 16 of champs league beat Barca along the way :) Lenny is the way Foward :) Hooper 1st Signing surely

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha he could play bobo the clown, and shrek in that team they would win the leauge itss a joke, he's anti football av watched celtic and there awful just not as bad as the others

Agree0 Disagree0

10 May 2013 07:31:49
Winning a couple of games in Europe means nothing - winning trophies with Celtic is easy winning the championship or even the 1st division - as for operating on a shoestring it's relative to your competition and compared to the rest of Scottish football Celtic own the shoe shop and the shoe factory!
No one in Scottish football is worth a look - jelli and Naismith! For anyone!

Agree0 Disagree0

Neil Lennon is an odious rat. He can get to fck

Agree0 Disagree0

Not keen on Lennon but I can imagine him during the derby kicking off at every koppite in sight.

Agree0 Disagree0

Believable19 Unbelievable4

In fluffy we trust

Agree0 Disagree0

How's your CV? Can't be worse than some of the fools we've been linked with.

Everton will benefit from moyes at utd. I can see us getting plenty of loans from them and possibly first dibs on fringe players like hernandez

Believable18 Unbelievable27

09 May 2013 21:13:37
first dibs on hernandez when the likes of real madrid are interested doubt it very much

Agree0 Disagree0

Hernandez?

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would we get preferential treatment, he has to look after Uniteds interests now not ours
RickTee

Agree0 Disagree0

Not going to happen

Agree0 Disagree0

Not before he's taken evertons best players with him first

Agree0 Disagree0

Think the OP is right, they will sell us all their players on the cheap and come back home. Come on, some people are soooo naive

Agree0 Disagree0

09 May 2013 20:54:11
The only manage not to be linked is Alex Ferguson.

Believable23 Unbelievable0

As of 8. 15 tonight, Neil Lennon is favourite to be our new manager with bet365, Ladbrokes, Billy Hill, and Paddy Power. Absolutely NO! Don't want him near our club, absolute nightmare

Believable21 Unbelievable18

You would be lucky to have Lennon. Has more European experience than Moyes and has much less of a transfer budget every season. Lennon will not leave Celtic for Everton anyway {Ed025's Note - lets hope not!..

Agree0 Disagree0

I will support Liverpool if this happens

Agree0 Disagree0

You'll support Liverpool lol. He's won the spl got into the last 16 of the cl and your threat is to support liverpool. Really want you as a fan. Go and support them. Never heard anything so stupid in my life

Agree0 Disagree0

He won the spl because Celtic were the only team in it

Agree0 Disagree0

No they wasn't there was 11 other teams in the SPL.

Look at this stat

EPL-20 teams-only Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea ever win it (Man City and Blackburn won it once. Yawn.

SPL-12 teams-only Celtic and Rangers ever win it

EPL 17 teams play for nothing.

SPL 10 teams play for nothing (Before Rangers demise).

EPL is vastly overrated the only fans that say the EPL is the best in the world are the EPL fans.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers won the league every other year and went bust your league is a joke mate, keep playing 90mins behind the ball in the champions league next year its great to watch

lennon 4/5 on for blues on some bettting sites

Believable5 Unbelievable21

I think he would be really good he's young firey and has done well at celtic guiding them to the last 16 of the champions league with no money plus he does manage 1 of the biggest clubs in the world so I would say he's a good choice he's a risk yeh but I think a risk worth takeinh

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Lennon is the outstanding candidate he's young and hungry plus lots of ambition COYB! Jayc

Agree0 Disagree0

Hes now clear fav {Ed025's Note - on betfair its martinez..

Agree0 Disagree0

A few lucky breaks in Europe does not make you a good manager - it's harder to lose the league as Celtic without rangers than it is to win it!
Lennon has no class - being angry and aggressive is not intensity or passion

Agree0 Disagree0

Now who do we know who is angry and agressive, and got 13 premier league titles? As a Celtic fan I hope Neil is more ambitious than going to everton. Managing Celtic is one of football's most difficult jobs, especially with the attacks, bullets, bombs and ongoing character assassinations. He still has work to do at celtic but is maybe tired of the nonsense from govan. Managing everton these days is a bit like leading the liberal party. You have to put on a good show but nobody expects to be no. 1. You can win 7-0 at Celtic and still get stick. Good luck, I've been at goodison a number of times and always liked it.

Believable16 Unbelievable14

As much as we love dunc, he ain't ready yet.

Agree0 Disagree0

09 May 2013 19:38:56
i myself would keep it in house they know the team they know how the club is run they'll know the transfer targets and they know who are the bad players are because we do

Agree0 Disagree0

U don't no if big dunc is ready or not because U don't no wot they have been preparing him for so he mite be ready his time mite be now I really hope so because he loves this club more than dm does

Agree0 Disagree0

09 May 2013 21:20:24
I think BIG DUNC has what it takes young fiesty manager to be with the blue running through his veins

Agree0 Disagree0

That'll be for a wba title.

Agree0 Disagree0

10 May 2013 13:51:05
I'd actually like to see Big Dunc get a go. All the names mentioned at the moment are dodgy so give him a go.
Pablo

Agree0 Disagree0

I would give the big fella a go he has progressed through the coaching licences in super quick time just like moyes did. To get his EUFA A licence within 12 mths is special considering he once hated football. But now his work ethic is second to none we gave a inexperienced man a go last time why not now. Some of those mentioned are just because they are flavour of the month not because of there special abilities.

Hi ed what do you think of Roberto Di Matteo joining us great challenge for him to get us in the top four. Put down a marker as the next EFC manager #COYB {Ed002's Note - Di Matteo has two clubs looking to him already - I would think a move to Everton unlikely.}

Ed do you reckon Moyes will take Baines with him, and maybe Fellaini?
Wouldn't mind Fellaini going even though he has been a great asset he is just a lazy s**t and is annoying, whereas Baines would be a massive loss.
25 mil for Fellaini, would you complain? {Ed025's Note - i reckon felli might go to chelsea...i think manutd would like baines, but would he want them?, i dont really know..

Believable6 Unbelievable6

FELLI AND BAINES TO GO FOR ABOUT £40 MILLION I HATE TO SAY BUT WHAT CAN WE DO. WITH THAT MONEY AND OTHER MONEY FOR OTHER SALES SUCH AS (HEITINGA, GUEYE, ANICHEBE)THE NEW MANAGER SHOULD HAVE SOME SERIOUS CASH TO REBUILD (WHICH IMO WE HAVE NEEDED FOR SOME YEARS. IF PORTO BASS COMES IN CAN SEE HIM BRING SOME GOOD YOUNG PORTUGEES (SPELLING )WITH HIM. WHAT DO YOU THINK ED. {Ed025's Note - i think you should stop shouting, but your points seem fair..

It has just been on talks**** though that he was offered the job but has turned it down.

Agree0 Disagree0

God bless king moyes you having a laugh he's shafted us he's propably got a nice big signing on fee, were getting nothing and will propably have to pay compo to another club, he could have signed his contract with a clause saying if a bigger club comes in he can go with a right amount of compo.

Believable5 Unbelievable6

I thought bill said we were looking for a immediate replacement? I would love to see a big named manager to come in, perhaps moyes going is for the best as we need a change

Agree0 Disagree0

Let's face it he has known for some time, the fact he came out and would not sign a contract, he has destablished the club, good riddance.

Yes he officially joins 1st July. Like you or I leaving our jobs and working our notice period.

Just been playing snooker with Steve Mclaren's agent and apparently he is very interested in the everton job.
He would look to bring Leroy Fer to the blues as he knows him well from time spent together in holland.
Lets hope blue bill has more sense than to employ this wolley!
And good luck to david moyes
DV

Believable10 Unbelievable24

Sorry to diaspppoint you but this guy will be in the running. he has expressed an interest and I have it on good authority he was sounded out a few months ago.

God bless David Moyes! True Everton legend. All the best for the future! Ed, who you reckon we'll get in? {Ed002's Note - I should stick with my suggestion of Martinez. If you want a couple of names from left field, perhaps Stuart McCall, Rene Girard and Vitor Pereira.}

Believable11 Unbelievable7

Please god not Martinez, Wigan are s****. Martinez no money and relegation Moyes no money and. Seventh

Neil Lennon for me!

Blue Bones {Ed025's Note - i would sooner have..keith lemon bones!..

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyes has spent a lot lot more than Martinez. Wigan are a s*** team that play good football. They played us off the park. We were lucky to beat them at our place and drew at theres.

Ed - I like the Rene Girard shout. Great manager, done wonders for Montpellier. Would prefer someone with English experience though. {Ed002's Note - Rene has been brushing up on his English and is looking for a job in England - Newcastle might also be an option. The press in England will have a ball with him.}

Agree0 Disagree0

How about big dunc and and little help in background for him like joe royle! {Ed025's Note - not for me mate..

A question for ed02, ed25 believes you know your 'onions' haha, as he put it, so iv noticed you are convinced Moyes is off, but I also notice you comment about Martinez bringing players in with him. So with these comments do we take it that you information puts Martinez as evertons front runner to succeed at everton?

EverTheOptimistic {Ed002's Note - There was no doubt that Moyes would be leaving at the end of this season and he has been the preferred choice for Manchester United since around the turn of the year. What came as a surprise was the timing of the resignation of SAF. As I explained a while back I was expecting Moyes to either take a year off or to take on a job on a rolling one-year contract - specifically teh head coach role at Schalke 04. Martinez will certainly be one of the managers to be considered over the summer - and if Wigan are relegated, a very likely candidate for the role.}

ON EVERTON SITE

Everton can confirm that David Moyes will leave the Club at the end of the season.

The Manager met Chairman Bill Kenwright early yesterday evening (Wednesday 8th May) and confirmed his desire to join Manchester United.

The Chairman, on behalf of the Club, would like to place on record his thanks to David for the massive contribution he has made to Everton since his arrival in March 2002. He has been an outstanding Manager.

During his tenure at Goodison Park, David has taken charge of the team on over 500 occasions including four European campaigns.

His final two games as Everton Manager will be the remaining Premier League matches against West Ham United and Chelsea.

Everton officials will start the search for a replacement manager immediately.

Believable9 Unbelievable3

I really think Moyes is a hypocrite. Not one for conspiracies but was the FA cup game with Wigan part of this process? Come on boys we can win this this year. righto. He leaves with many plaudits byt he won not a jot for us {Ed025's Note - bit unfair that mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

He should be treated like a Judas. Not for taking one of the top jobs in Europe but for letting his contract run down. He moans about the money we have to spend on players and now leaves us with no choice but to go for a manager out of a job or pay compensation. It really stinks, this has been in the offing for a while. JUDAS

Agree0 Disagree0

Good luck to Mr Moyes he finally got the job he had been waiting for. Its nice to see that he is honouring his contract as we still have unfinished business, we can only finish as high as 6th, but we must finish above the darkside.
Also something thing that may aide us in the future. If we sign a manager who Moyes respects we may well get first dibs on any loan signings.

Good luck to him but he must not be in charge of the club from right now, he should be shown out of the ground and put on gardening leave until June 1st/end of contract.

As usual the board have done nothing (at least publicly) to sort a replacement, they knew as did all of us that this was going to happen.

I will support the team this weekend but will turn my back on Moyes. {Ed025's Note - i agree with the gardening leave mate..i dont want to see him booed or chanted against, he did a great job for us, and i for 1 appreciate it..

Agree0 Disagree0

Might lose Baines and Fellaini

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed I appreciate all the work he did just not the way he's leaving, showing a gross lack of respect to EFC by agreeing and then publicly confirming his decision on Manchester United web site before doing it on Everton site.

He should just go now and let us enjoy humping West Ham at the weekend. {Ed025's Note - i agree mate..

Just heard from a good pal of mine from inside club that Steve round is to be given the job, I hope not myself but I trust my mates info. Just stuck a tenner at 33/1 on willy hill for it.
Efc Paul

Believable1 Unbelievable17

No you didn't and you didn't waste a tenner. Martinez will probably be our next manager. He's the one who knocked you lot back. Now jog on back to your own site.

Agree0 Disagree0

This will sound like one of those “my mates dogs uncle” lines, I’m about to come out with and you can give me all the stick you want. But …. my very good mates ma (basically my 2nd ma) baby-sits for Steve, through school relations (not going into too much detail cause that wouldn’t be fair but a private school in Cheshire). I don’t have a clue who is coming in next. But fully intend to get her to at least ask the question. An if I do get an answer and the potential manager is anywhere near 33/1 I will be putting a s*%* load on it.

Personally I would want Laudrup – great tactician, knows the game inside out, and is a decent guy who holds himself well. Realistically all these melts shouting up vitor (your jumping on a bandwagon and know nothing about the lad other than he won the title in Portugal 2 years in a row) Look at AVB, came crashing down to earth at Chelsea. Need someone who knows the English game. I don’t know why everyone is jumping on Martinez’s back. He plays good football, would be inheriting a team light-years ahead of Wigans (minus the 3-0 trouncing). Yes Moyes had no money to spend, but he's spent a lot more than Roberto – Yak, Beattie, Johnson, Felli, Billy, Mirallas – the list goes on. He would fit right into the mould of play were moving towards. With Steve as his number 2 or someone else that’s been at the club, the grit, graft an steal should stick.

Agree0 Disagree0

Back to my own site? I'm a blue an have been for over 30 yrs lad, I'm only sharing what I've been told by my mate up2 u 2 believe it lad, an as for the tenner it's all I've got spare so at that price was worth a punt. So instead of assuming everyone who posts something you don't agree with is a kopite have a quick think because maybe just maybe they might actually be telling the truth mate!!
Efc Paul

Apparently Laudrup has a £5m buy out clause in his contract

Believable12 Unbelievable11

From what I've heard it is 10M. whether it will take that much I'm not sure and whether he will be our number 1 target I'm not sure. but I sure hope he is.

He has European football why leave

Agree0 Disagree0

He is my number 1 as well, he has this aurora about him, that gets the best out of everyone he is around, and has shown he is a winner.

But as has been said, I can't see it happening, not only the buyout, but he seems settled at Swansea and is building something there.

Agree0 Disagree0

We'll probably have the cheek to try offer Swansea the 5m in installments

I think even 5m is out of our range, if we did have 5m to spend rather used it on a player and get a manager who is out of contract

Agree0 Disagree0

It will be mark hughes as everton will not want to pay out money to other clubs.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cup final win against bradford is no cv. yes he has done well but so did mike walker and look what happened there

Agree0 Disagree0

We don't have huge amounts to pay out, but we're not broke in the way that one poster seems to be suggesting.

I'd love to see either Laudrup or Vítor Pereira, though I'd also be happy with Poyet. Also, a name I haven't seen linked that I'd be up for (hough I suspect I might be shouted down for this) is Steve Clarke.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't agree but I think Round will reunited with McLaren

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't want Laudrup. Take Mark Hughes now

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha, really? It will take a couple of weeks at the least.

Agree0 Disagree0

We won't get him. but why would it take a couple of weeks the moyes deal has took 2 days at the most

Agree0 Disagree0

The Moyes deal is more straightforward, no buyouts. He's out of contract so it's simply a case of signing a contract with United. Simples. We're most likely going to have to go through the process of negotiating compensation with other clubs, something that will take time to get a good deal. Unfortunately also means less £££'s for the transfer market.

how do you know the moyes deal has took 2 days? his contract is ending this year, all he has to do is say "Hey Bill, i'm not signing a new contract" and then say to Manchester United "Ok i'll take the job". Takes about 1 day at best?

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyes deal was planned

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes u right just a coincidence?

Agree0 Disagree0

He's just got Cardiff up, don't think he'd come to us, they have Malaysian Owners, they'll stay up

Agree0 Disagree0

Mackay had already booked to visit a number of Premiership managers following Cardiff's promotion so there is nothing in it.
