I just do not understand why we always dither over players, why wait til the season has started before bringing in players, no pre season prep, thrown straight in, just ridiculous now that even straight forward signing seem to take weeks to complete.

He won't come to us as the board lacks ambition we will not spend the cash and teams like Stoke West Ham villa even west brom will overtake us scary when Stoke attract players we can't

Downward spiral? It's only the first game of the season and there are still 3 weeks left of the transfer window. Not sure where the cause for pessimism has come from.

{Ed025's Note - the spiral did not start yesterday brum, it started over a year ago mate, the pessimism is born out of concern for this great club..."NIL SATIS NISI OPTIMUM" does not mean lets limp along and accept any sort of crap thats thrown at us fella..

It appears stoke are in the driving seat as they have offered a permanent deal to Inter, we are apparently looking at a loan with an option to buy, Inter want shot, it does also tell you something there!

Told from a very good source we have made an enquiry over a deal for Austin but that's all at the moment. Apparently he'd like to stay in London. Sounds like he's heading to spurs

Austin worth a gamble although can't see him passing a medical with his dodgy knee.
Nobody knew how Andy Gray passed a medical but his quality was there for all 2 c & the rest is history

Eds around about how much do you think we have to spend? And how much do you reckon Austin is worth I personally wouldn't go over 8 or 9 million

{Ed025's Note - i dont think we have a specific amount to spend kingy it will depend on the target, austin will cost between £12-14m imo mate..

I'd look for a cheaper option elsewhere or if we were going to spend that much some one with a bit more quality. Saying that he'd probably be an improvement on lukaku

Sorry but £15m is not a lot these days especially someone who hit 17/18 prem goals last season which is good in any side but in a side that got relegated is brilliant also he was injured for bit, whilst I agree you could get a more technical player for less but what do we want from a striker I want goals and he fits the bill for me, we don't score enough and with our defence looking dodgy last 12 months we our going to have to score a lot, we will probably concede 40+ goals this season so we need to score 65/70 goals to look at a top 6 finish, I know it was first game of season yesterday and although not to concerned as it takes 10 games to see how each team is shaping up, but why play 3 cm yesterday we had cleverly McCarthy and Barry only room for 2, Barkley needs to play deeper this season he is not a no 10 he never will be he will be a cm that should be box to box driving at teams, he has everything you want in a top cm he now has 2 whole seasons under his belt, just hope he can believe in him self more and go and demand the ball show the world how good you are, for me he could be world class

We don't score enough because we don't create enough. What's the point in having another striker with no one who can supply him with chances. This was evident yesterday
