It is being reported that Emery is going to PSG and will take Monchi with him.

Who knows what other irons in the fire Moshri has. He certainly let the directors know he preferred Koeman as first choice over Emery. So let's not act scared over a DoF where no scare stories exist at this time.

No scare stories Bill, just reporting what I have read. I am sure Mosiri has this covered with several candidates.

07 Jun 2016 18:09:55
all is good with koeman being appointed but with the 100 million pounds being thrown around as our transfer kitty i just hope we just go crazy and throw it at anyone we find in the transfer market

look at what happened at the likes of spurs and especially QPR in their first season

onwards and upwards

Not a done deal yet. It would appear we are trying to show that we have gone about this the right way and not tapped him up.

It could get a little bit messy if we don't do this right or say the right things. We all know it goes on (Moyes a perfect example) but saying the wrong thing can be a ball ache.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - i think we have conducted ourselves very well john, and as you rightly say thats whats taking the time mate..

07 Jun 2016 20:47:04
But surely the five million big ones they get in return cancels everything regarding come backs.

07 Jun 2016 16:42:13
heard that koeman never promoted any youth players at the saints.

can that be right given there academy and the youth they have produced in the past couple of years.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - i would not be sure on that one BOTN as i dont really delve into the likes of southampton mate..

07 Jun 2016 17:24:40
I thought he gave first team starts to about 5 or 6 youths.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Jun 2016 17:45:27
You will be unlikely to see any youth players brought through as he will favour bringing in players who are either Dutch or from the Dutch league, the only player he brought through from the saints academy was Matt Targett who if he hadn't been injured a couple of years back wouldve been picked over shaw as he was the better full back.

Agree1 Disagree1

07 Jun 2016 18:11:41
cheers SAC. that's shocking that is given your academy

Koeman wasn't my No.1 choice and having the youth thing confirmed only strengthens that for me. Hate to see much of our youth go to rot.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jun 2016 20:04:10
Personally I hate seeing so many foreign players in starting line ups of premier league teams especially when give the time we could develop our own talent like your own Ross Barkley! In my opinion Poch was the better manager, as in better style of play and brought youth through, so I'm not too concerned as long as we get a decent replacement. Not taking away from the fact he's been a fantastic manager for us and will do a good job at bringing you back to the standard an Everton side should be.

Rumours circulating the deal is dun plus according to Sky with £100 million to spend. Koeman is looking At Neto from juventus.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - To get a Work Permit assured it would mean paying over the odds for Neto who aside from being a complete flake has hardly played. He was out during April with bed sores after spending most of the rest of the season on the bench. In his five seasons in Europe he spent only two as a pretty much regular starter. There are far, far better options out there.}

07 Jun 2016 17:04:49
haha 👍 love it ed.

{Ed025's Note - love it Am8..

We are supposed to be offering koeman a £100 million transfer chest and the same to monchi. If both sign who would have final say on transfers and would it be 100 million each, because i can't see £200 million being sustainable and i also can't see either koeman or monchi coming if they are not in control of transfers either. i'm a confused blue haha.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

07 Jun 2016 15:27:05
Munchi will have control of the budget as that is the control of the Director of Football. He will have control from youth up to first team and Koeman will be Head Coach as opposed to manager.

Agree0 Disagree1

07 Jun 2016 15:32:33
Anom no one has said they are getting 100 million each. Why do people make this rubbish up ed. It's frustrating enough all the waiting for something to happen instead of reading crap like this.

Agree0 Disagree1

07 Jun 2016 15:37:55
In my opinion, the system only works if they work in tandem. Whilst Monchi (if he does actually come) would be responsible for the actual transfers, rk should have an input. Iv heard that it sometimes works out that he manager provides a list with what his wants and priorities are then then director uses this to actually go get people.

07 Jun 2016 16:10:44
John that's why i said supposedly. The main part of the statement is who would be in charge. Thanks for clearing it up for me lads.

07 Jun 2016 17:11:56
They won't spend that sort of money get a sporting director in and hope for the best, football is getting bigger and bigger so the managers job is the coaching unlike the old days, so Koeman will be involved in player recruitment but only on the players he would like he won't get involved in paper side of things, it just takes pressure of the manager or coach.
Appointing a manager is not as straight forward these days the better the manager the more staff that our part of the structure so like this Koeman deal it's not just him it's his people like Erwin Koeman, the fitness coach and maybe the GK coach so that's 4 important staff they will be loosing.

07 Jun 2016 18:21:41
Mentioned yesterday my mate who us a season ticket holder at Southampton. He sorta concluded they'd lose both Koemans to us but hoped they kept the goalkeeper coach who is supposedly superb. I said we'd have him too then. once we get a bloody keeper!

Southampton are expecting Everton to make an announcement today regarding RK according to Sky.

07 Jun 2016 12:57:22
Toffee ace according to the telegraph talks still taking place between both clubs apparently Southampton playing hard ball over wanting 5 million for koeman his brother and erwin they annoyed but expect it to be finalized on Wednesday I suppose it differs slightly to what ever paper u read wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't get announced until koeman comes back from holiday.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jun 2016 13:37:37
The 'Daily Mail' are saying Wednesday. . . seems we are having oour leg pulled . . . again!

07 Jun 2016 13:58:06
Sky reported earlier that Southampton expect Everton to make a statement today, that to me suggests they are awaiting us to confirm so it's probably ratifying the paperwork.
Sky then reported it should be announced later this afternoon but could tick over into Wednesday.

07 Jun 2016 14:06:34
I know we all want closure but realistically does it make any difference wether we announce this week or next week. Koeman is away on hols so he's not going to do much until he comes back. Plus he's probably got a pretty good idea on what he plans to do. he's been in the prem for 2 years so already knows a lot about the players we have. We just need to be patient and let the board do what's right for the future of our club.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jun 2016 06:43:36
Saints are worried that Koeman will come back and raid for their stars. Forster (is he better than what we have - Yes) , Van Dyke (in the long run he is no better than what we have) , Shane Long (about on a par with Naismith and better than Kone (although Koeman has worked with Kone before, we could be in for a surprise) ) .

Believable1 Unbelievable1

07 Jun 2016 07:08:11
I am sorry but I think Long is much better than Naismith and as for Lone and the like it's time for them to go.

Agree7 Disagree0

07 Jun 2016 07:15:03
I really like Virgil van Dijk and would be better than Scott Dann for me but I am sure I read that he only signed a new contract recently through until 2022 so would cost far too much.
And Fraser Forster signed a new contract around a similar time through to 2021, but I would look to stump up the cash for a top keeper so worth looking at.

Agree3 Disagree1

07 Jun 2016 08:04:02
Can't see Forster coming. Like has been said, he just signed a long term contract. Plenty other keepers about, Cillisen, Mandanda or Leno. If reports are true, Southampton are trying to stop Koeman coming back for players put into the deal. If so it's a shame as I'd like us to try for Saido Mane and Ryan Bertrand.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jun 2016 08:42:55
No matter what happens I quite like the idea that none of us have known for weeks maybe months what is actually happening I Like the Way Moshiri goes about conducting business. I hope this can only bode well for the future.

Agree5 Disagree0

07 Jun 2016 11:36:33
For all we know, there could be a buy out figure, in Forster's contract, Koeman wouled know that, so let's hope.

07 Jun 2016 12:51:07
is that the same shane long that picked Reading over us a few seasons ago? I really dislike him think at the time he said he never wants to join us,

07 Jun 2016 18:25:09
Decent enough player I suppose, but he's always just had one of those faces I'd love to smack. Dunno why. Guess he doesn't care thiugh in his mansion and ferrari. Haha.
