With Jags close to being fit Stones could move to rb in the short term. Mind you Tony Hibbert is still on the books isn't he?

Mattioni returned over the new year injured as far as I heard last. That leaves Galloway, Pennington or Stones for right back (if Jags is back)

No brainer for me. Why wouldn't Galloway do? People were calling for Baines to be dropped because he was playing so well. He's categorised as a centre back.

Why wouldn't he suit right back as much as he would left back? He did play well left back. I'd try him there Sat. Just mho.

Because he's left footed and has no right foot.

Jags has played there in the past as well but with the skills that Stones has, him playing at right back also enables Martinez to switch to a back 3.

Why don't we play 3 centre backs with stones as sweeper and play Lennon and braines or Galloway as wing backs. Worth experiment against Dagenham.

Isn't Azpilicueta left footed and play's right back. Plenty of right footed left backs. Not as many left footed right backs. Prob because there is not as many lefties.

It seemed to do Azpilicueta no harm. Do good for Galloway's development. If he doesn't do well he can always be changed.

Back 3 would be another option. Although we all know Martinez likes to stick to plan A.

Azpilicueta is a right footed left back who is very comfortable with both feet, Galloway is like Distin and Lescott, no right foot. Pennington did very well vs Barnsley, give him a go.

tar I heard mattoni gone back on loan but is injured as well but I suppose he may give chance to gethin jones.

As far as I know Azpilicueta has played both right and left back. Earlier in career played right back. Then was moved to left back at Chelsea. Played right back in 2014 World Cup for Spain if memory serves me correctly.

Anyway, there have been plenty right footed left backs. What's wrong with a left footed right back. Galloway doesn't play a lot of crosses and mainly defends so it shouldn't hinder him too much.

Wouldn't be grudge Pennington a start either. Would be good to see him get a good run.

gethin Jones or jonjoe kenny.

When is McCarthy back? He's played there before and that would allow besic to stay in midfield.

Think Colemans injury has given Martinez a get out card to be able to bring Jags back and move Stones to right back. Be interesting to see what happens when Seamus is fit again.

Shame for browning he's injured, but cover might well be Cleverley who has played there before, or even McCarthy or Besic.
