Everton will have to sell to buy in January ( unless new owners come )

Its looking like Rodwell will be sold to Man United for £25m. That will be the only departure.

But only £15m of this will be used on transfers.

Everton have already made an enquiry about the availibility of Steven Pienaar for £4m.

Donovan is looking likely to be back on loan unless there is any hiccups.
Peter Odemwingie is the main striking target at about £7m
The rest of the £15m will be put towards a permanent deal for Drenthe.

Drenthe is on a free, but you need to have the wages plus signing on fee believed to be close to 1.5 million

Rodwell doesn't look like a 25m player... Barely a 2.5m player, at the moment.

What is peoples problem with Rodwell. We have done this consistently throughout our clubs history get at players that are good who end up leaving. Everyone remember Kanchelskis. Rodwell has been really good this season, so get off his back and satart supporting him. {Ed025's Note - i dont think people are getting at him mate...they are saying he,s our most salable asset..

I think we need to be realistic when it comes to Rodwell. ED is right he is our most sellable asset. If we want to make improvements to our squad in January or even the summer its likely Rodwell that's going to be sold to fund other areas. {Ed001's Note - it does make sense to sell a midfielder to raise funds, though I would say Fellaini might be a better option to sell personally.}

Let's say in January if we have 7 million then we should buy kranjcar for 3 million he's class! The creativity we miss and can play cf and wing.

Sell sheitingha and billy for a combined fee of 10 million then buy either kalou and defoe and maybe take a punt with all the 14 million on berbatov but doubt hed take a pay cut and would be interested with us.

So buy Kalou for 5 million and another striker on loan like pavlychenko/chamakh

Then with 9 mill left over buy another 4 mill cm or 9 mill striker. But I'd opt for a 4m creative cm and spend 4 mill on a new rb .

I 'now this wouldn't happen but it would be nice.

That's without the other striker we could get and any other loan players I'm 100 percentt this wouldn't happen but. With this starting 11 then I would feel we could make europe because we would have a fair bit of depth in out squad

Why would you pay £14m for berbatov who is out of contract at the end of the season?
If you can persuade him to sign for you then he is a free agent in january to join on a free for next season.
man utd would then sell him for a couple of million if he signed pre contract with some1 else! {Ed025's Note - no argument from me on that one!
