May I suggest that we all hope that Arsenal win the FA Cup final, as that means we'll go straight into the group stage of the UEFA Europa League and Hull City will go into the third qualifying round. That way we're sure of six group stage matches - and some corresponding money.
If Hull City win the FA Cup final, they'll go straight into the group stage, and we'll have to get through the two-legged playoff round immediately prior to the group stage.
The third qualifying round is the two-legged round immediately prior to the playoff round.
The team finishing 6th - almost certainly Tottenham, but ManUtd have an outside chance - will enter at the third qualifying round or the playoff round depending on who wins the FA Cup final.

thanks for the info, COME ON HULL!

Agree1 Disagree1

What? You want us to have to play in the playoff round?
Am I missing the irony in your post?
My sense-of-humour bypass mechanism must have kicked in! ;-)

{Ed025's Note - i dont think you read it right sid..

This is incorrect.
BBC article states Hull go straight to group stage as the FA Cup is held in higher position then 5th in league. It was decided by FA to keep teams interested in FA Cup and limited instances of teams entering weakened teams in cup.
So regardless of result it will be
Hull - group stage
Us - final qualifier
Spurs - third round qualifier

Agree0 Disagree0

We r in the league stages the fa cup runners up go in as the lowest ranked team!

Agree0 Disagree0

I believe my original post is correct. Here is article 2.04 from the Regulations of the UEFA Europa League.
"If the winner of the domestic cup qualifies for the UEFA Champions League, the domestic cup runner-up qualifies for the UEFA Europa League at the stage initially reserved for the lowest ranking top domestic league representative (or the winner of another official domestic competition in accordance with paragraph 2.03). Should both the winner and the runner-up of the domestic cup qualify for the UEFA Champions League, the association concerned may enter for the UEFA Europa League the club which finishes the top domestic league immediately below the other club or clubs which qualify for the UEFA Europa League. In both cases, the access stage initially reserved for the domestic cup winner is reserved for the club which finishes the domestic league in the highest position out of all the clubs which qualify for the UEFA Europa League from the association concerned (see Annex Ia). Each representative of the domestic league will then enter the competition at the stage initially reserved for the domestic league representative ranked immediately above it."
So, if Arsenal beat Hull City, Everton, who'll finish fifth in the Premier League, will be moved up straight into the group stage of the UEFA Europa League.
Of course, if you can quote any other regulation - say from the FA and not just a BBC report in the media - then I'll stand corrected. :-)

bretto no offence but in what way does remy suit our style more? we need a striker who is strong, can finish, has good tactical awareness, a good first touch and can lay the ball off, bony has all that, remy has none plus bony is great in the air and has a good shot from distance, again, remy lacks both

Agree1 Disagree0

I just think he suits style play more swan as think he has the pace shooting and fairly decent strenght we need

Everton Fc are reported to be interested in James Milner of Man City

Will Milner and Barry be at Everton NEXT SEASON?

What do you think Ed025's

Believable11 Unbelievable4

{Ed025's Note - we inquired about milner 3 windows ago sealand, he is not a bad player IMO mate, barry will hopefully have seen the light and sign for us, he has been superb this season..

I think milner good player he like a barry un noticed at city but puts a good shift in

Agree1 Disagree0

I think as long as Milner plays Centre Midfield and not wide right like he does for England he could prove to be a good acquisition.

Not really everton related but Man City to be fined 50m?! Blimey when they said hefty fines I just presumed it was UEFA's usual idea of a hefty fine, £100 and a slap on the wrist. Word has it that City are appealing that leaves them open to more severe punishment, here's hoping they take the hard line and chick them out of the CL, but I doubt they will, prob uphold the appeal!.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

{Ed025's Note - all hot air from UEFA i think gibbo, i would love to be wrong, but history says im not mate..

Unfortunately I happen to agree with you, only time will tell!. I suspect it's just UEFA propaganda.

Agree0 Disagree0

Platini has changed his mind about FFP since Monaco and PSG started throwing money around. He only supported it to try and stop the English and Spanish dominance in the transfer market.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i agree rick..

Not fussed about the 50 million fine but the player sanctions for the CL will directly effect our chances of getting Barry as they will probably need him and therefore him a new contract to make sure they have the right quota of homegrown players

Hi Ed, could you please shed some light on the Martinez to Spurs links? More lazy journalism I hope.

Believable6 Unbelievable4

{Ed025's Note - very much so chris, bobby is going nowhere mate..

Its lazy journalism chris, the sports editor of the paper it was in was on a radio show last night.

Agree1 Disagree0

Papers doing the rounds again but can ensure you Bobbie's staying, in all honesty I can see Moyes popping up at either Spurs or Newcastle.

Agree1 Disagree1

I wouldn't worry. Bobbys seems a loyal man.
