What u mean'we done well against madrid considering they got some of the worlds best players"

Believable6 Unbelievable7

Hopefully bobby learns from his mistake at Wigan an against Madrid and sort the shoddy defence out - we will get hammered against big teams however smash smaller teams : (

Believable7 Unbelievable9

It was hardly shoddy defending against Madrid we were just guilty of defending to high up the pitch

Agree1 Disagree1

Wigan suffered with injuries to their defense last season which didn't help them, plus their players are not exactly the same standard as ours.

As for Madrid you have to remember that we played a very high line against a very very good team, which was always going to be a gamble and we were hit 2 by superb balls to their players playing off the last man.

Agree3 Disagree0

Poster is right I'm afraid lads.

Agree0 Disagree1

Spot on. He hasn't accepted that his style of play was part of the reason that Wigan struggled every season in the Prem. It was brought to a head last season because they had to many injuries. He appears to be an intelligent man, so to persist with this play out from the back and get caught style can only be down to arrogance. I hope that it doesn't happen to us but if it has to I hope it happens straight away so that Kenwright can realise his error.

Agree0 Disagree4

Will people get a grip, players like jags, baines, coleman won't become bad over night just wait fot the season to get going before all this negativity starts. Moyes often sat on a 1-0 and invited plenty of late pressure, and how many games did we drop points in the last ten mins last season. Get behind RM and the team!

Agree3 Disagree0

Poster 5 well said mate good to see someone talking sence for once

Agree0 Disagree0

Same game last year we would have played for a draw and still lost, but be told we were punching above our weight. So stop the moaning and move on for gods sake.

Agree2 Disagree0

That has been my worry, RM arrogance but you have put it in context for me RM will ruin us! He seems to only have his one formation and because the players can b interchangeable in that formation it will mask the real problems. I could never work out what were the best positions for half the wigan team last season
Small minded manager who is using us, he is deluded

L4 4EL

Agree1 Disagree4

Original poster obviously never watched the games excellent defending against Juventus to high a line as said against Madrid he changed it round 2nd half much better and should of got something.

Moaning buggers Evertonians.

Agree2 Disagree0

High defensive line against ronaldo was a terrible decision from a 'tactical genius' and his track record has shown he isn't willing to change this (playing this against teams with fast players was what sent wigan down). the origional poster is right and if he won't change then we run the risk of ending up like the reds who can't beat big team.

Anyone who says that playing the high line against Madrid just because it was pre-season needs to get a grip and maybe actually question the manager and make their opinions heard before it happens in a game that matters.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the guy who said rm only has his 1 formation he has already played 451, 433 and 343 in his 1st 5 games

Agree0 Disagree0

Can everyone who's moaning relax a bit. We're playing pre-season games, the point of this is for R. M. to try a few things out, see what works and what doesn't. Sure we lost against Madrid but did anyone expect any different? I'm not being negative but we just aren't anywhere near Madrid's quality, there's no shame in that. R. M. may well have a favourite formation and he's perfectly entitled to give it a try, I highly doubt he's stubborn/stupid enough to persist with it if its not good enough, but was worth checking out just in case.
I've seen plenty of positives, he took off Kone against Madrid as he was dreadfully anonymous, this shows me he's not playing favouritism with his ex-wigan boys. Jelavic is looking more confident now. He's giving Barkley and Stones a chance and i'm very excited by what they've shown, especially Stones. He is like a new signing for the coming season so that's a bonus. Our fitness levels look pretty good and so far we haven't been stuffed by anyone, considering we're against such quality opposition I am very impressed. I'm looking forward to our match against Valencia and hopefully more positives will be clear (unless this is posted after the game, in which case Yay, how freaking awesome were we. great win!)

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on fellow blues stop looking at the negatives about RM let's start talking positive. I am looking forward to RM doing something moyes couldn't do win a cup. it will be great to see more attacking football mirallas, deulofeu tricks, flicks fancy football plenty goals, coleman+baines wing backs be great to see, felli and gibbo holding midfielders taking no crap. at the end of the day WERE EVERTON aren't WE.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the guy who said he has tried 3 different formations, I think we can all guess which one he will use against Norwich tried tested and failed high back line, wingbacks that will be knackered by half time and a bone idel striker, clueless!

Martinez out!

L4 4EL

Agree0 Disagree2

Jesus, the season hasn't ven kicked off yet and the doom merchants are off slagging the manager because we got beat 2-1 by Real Madrid. Get a grip eh boys and save the negativity until we're halfway through the season. Give the man a chanc ffs

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally with you on this. We look far too exposed at the back playing that system! The strikers aren't exactly on fire so for me it's not a positive more at all and a fear we will be caught out!

Agree0 Disagree0

L4 4EL you say martinez out. I've never heard such pathetic dribble. all you ever do is slate martinez or the team. nice to see your positive for the comin season. we have played some tough games recently and beaten the italian champions. albeit by pens. its a trial and error period. that's what pre season is for. give the guy a chance beforr you start calling for his head. your not dave moyes by any chance are you. realising he out of his depth at Manchester United and hoping to get his job back

Agree0 Disagree0

Still looking forward to our first clean sheet with RM. wishful thinking?

Agree0 Disagree0

We will just have to wait and see won't we, I love Everton and want success but this is not the person for it, I just don't like the fella or his ideas! We can't have one extreme to another we just don't have the type of players for his formations, we should stick with a slow transition 4411, then when we safe or beating teams then try his stuff hopefully that's what he will do
And I'm not moyes I am a season ticket holder in the joe mercer!

Hi ed sports direct news website are claiming we have offered baines a new deal worth 70k a week! Have you heard anything about this? Cheers ed {Ed025's Note - rumours say yes si...and they will offer an improved contract, but as yet nothing is signed mate..

06 Aug 2013 18:16:25
Osman to utd 10mill lmao is this rumours ed {Ed025's Note - yes mull..

Believable0 Unbelievable7

Is this for real? Don't get me wrong I like the lad and he always gives us his best, but for £8 to 10 Million I'd take it.

06 Aug 2013 18:11:54
Moyes attempting to take Leon Osman to united! This just made my day!

Believable8 Unbelievable7

06 Aug 2013 17:57:02
Osman to united ha ha! on the sky rumour page!

Believable6 Unbelievable6

How far down their list of targets will they have to go before getting someone? I like Osman, but IMHO he's moving towards the back of his career and any decent offer would surely be too good to turn down. I just don't see him as a defensive midfielder and there's more competition now at Everton for the attacking midfield positions - whether we play 4-2-3-1, 4-3-3, or whatever.

Leighton Baines is set to become one of the highest-paid players in Everton's history on £70,000 a week.

The Toffees and England left-back has been approached by the club about signing an improved four-year deal.

Everton are tired of waiting for Manchester United to improve upon the £12 million offer they made last month for the 28-year-old, who still has two years remaining on his existing Goodison contract.

Boss Roberto Martinez has held a series of chats with the defender and told him of the club's desire to keep hold of him and chairman Bill Kenwright has quickly sanctioned a hike of an extra £25,000 a week.

Baines is still open to a move to Old Trafford but is happy on Merseyside and wants to bring things to a conclusion.

Believable9 Unbelievable1

Love Baines to bits. he is what it means to be an Evertonian, 100%

I am only 30 but in that time I've not seen anyone else give more week in week out on the pitch for us than Baines.

It's about time the club repaid him, and once the team has settled a bit just watch him fly.

Agree1 Disagree0

Keeping Baines would be a good show of our club's ambition; transferring him - even for a good fee - would IMHO mark us a selling club that's content to be a middling feeder club for wealthier sides. I think BK and RM are better than that and I trust them to do right.

Agree1 Disagree0

Don't believe a word of it. Some kid probably invented it in his bedroom and put it on sportsdirect news. There's obviously an element of truth about therefore doesn't take a genius to make it up.

Ed why do the papers write we have to sell to buy? How likely out of 10 is it that alderwield will sign for us? {Ed025's Note - they love a hard luck story mate...i would rate TA as a 7/10..

Dithering David Moyes has finally made his 1st two signings this summer from Villa. He is looking forward to working with Dandelion and Burdock :)

Believable9 Unbelievable1

That's already been said. Catch up.

i heard it was Benson and Hedges

Agree0 Disagree0

I heard that he's actually bid for Huntley and Palmer - now that would take the biscuit. The move for Benson and Hedges was just a smokescreen.

RM looking to spend in the region of 30m to bolster his sqaud, but it is possible that around 10m could go unspent due to inability to land the his targets, as he is content with his squad and won't make any rushed buys for the sake of it.

Believable3 Unbelievable14

06 Aug 2013 14:02:44
30 million, that tickled me Ed

Degs

Agree2 Disagree1

I don't believe he has that much, 15 mill maybe but 30 mill no chance, if that's the case surely there r loads of targets he could go after, while still only adding quality and strength in depth.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ermmm. what starts with "B" and rhymes with "Trollocks"

RB Blue

Agree0 Disagree0

How coes Tottenham have spent 0m that's well over they transfer target isent it?

Agree0 Disagree0

I feel RM. try to prepare long term squad for next 2 years at least. I am not wondered if he buy CB. which I feel we got enough good CB. but Distin is 35, Alcaraz got surgery, Johnny will leave and Duffy is too young. CM. I feel even Ossie still top quality MC. in EPL. but to lift up our team for Europe we need best quality MC. within budget. Finally if Kone and Jelly cannot prove their performance sure next window RM. will move.

Agree4 Disagree0

Think its very nice actuall. best we have had for years

Agree3 Disagree0

Its got blue on it so when is it going to be used? if the away team's in blue? so always the 3rd kit when away?

Agree0 Disagree0

It's mint. Shame bout the home kit though!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it is a great kit, but they seem to have missed the point of an away kit and made it the same colour as the home one!

Lotan

Agree0 Disagree0

Boca home kit haha.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do u have to be different your the only one who thinks that

Agree0 Disagree0

Smart kit!

Rich84

Agree1 Disagree0

Its an everton fc kit, what's the problem

Agree0 Disagree0

You not seen liverpools mr official

Agree0 Disagree0

Very nice kit, horrendous badge. Will not be buying any merchandise until it's removed.

Agree0 Disagree0

I love it!

Agree0 Disagree0

Reminds me of the Warrington wolves (rugby) kit. It is growing on me. And anymore news on a cm or cf eds? {Ed025's Note - not yet mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

What are you talking about? Contender for best away shirt this season!

Agree1 Disagree0

You must be joking its brilliant, liver pools is the worst I've seen

Agree1 Disagree0

Looks like someone has thrown custard all over our home kit! We'll have to wear our third kit allot this season due to the colours too.
