i bet all the anti kenwright mob are just waitin for martinez to be announced then they can plan their blag marches. I mean, come on, freddie flintoffs run ups are longer than them marches.

Hey lads, just try and support the new manager. He's NOT going to take us down by any chance (look at the quality of the squad!). He's won with Wigan at Klanfield, emirates, at home against utd.

Weimann is a top player I bin saying it for month we probably get him for around 10/12 mil

Yes love both players, both good youngsters which have been great this season!

Weimann hasn't agreed contract either, vydra would cost about 5 mil as he is looking for a move to the prem, would be a very exciting partnership

Also heard new tv deal will be used to clear debts and the fellaini and Baines money will be used as funds. With 30% of that to be used as wages. So expect one outstanding signing.

Apparently the daily star is saying Everton have been given the green light to sign calum mcmanaman.

That's just Whelan spouting off again. Apparently he says he doesn't mind Martinez bidding for Wigans best talent however Everton must pay the going rate.
We haven't even given Martinez the job yet.

The guy was immense in the Cup final and has impressed all season. I'd welcome him back with open arms. I just hope he's the only player we sign from Wigan should RM become manager.

Some of the posters complain about Whelan saying too much too soon (and probably want our club to manage the info exclusively), while other posters complain that our club is saying too little too late (and are probably happy for info from any source).
Some posters get apoplectic about other clubs (e. g. DM now at ManUtd) supposedly wanting to sign our better players, while other posters want the prospective new manager to bring the better players from their old team (e. g. RM and Wigan's McCarthy, Maloney, McManaman).
It all goes to show IMHO that this forum covers a spectrum of opinion and that is what drives the banter and humour (the craic) that is so entertaining.
Cue the usual suspects with a "what was the point of that post?" response ;-)

IMO I don't rate any of the Wigan players we our linked with. The only 1 I would take. Is McCarthy put for no more than 6mil

1) We haven't got a manager yet.
2) HE WAS A TARGET OF MOYES Moyes isn't here anymore so we might not be interested anymore! It's logic people ffs, chances are we won't be getting any of the targets we've heard about before because they were all MOYES' TARGETS

Targets are not solely down to the manager, no club works that way anymore, take yourself out of the dark ages.

Toffee mike, do you think one man makes the decision? No a group do, the manager might point out who he would like, I would like Neymar, but am I going to get him, no, it's a business and the board that do the business will always make the decisions, not the man manager of the players, someone who is easily replaceable or in our case hard in finding a replacement

1) To the first comment Not in the dark ages mate. BK would never of bought a player that Moyes didn't want. Moyes had his transfer targets and Bill would buy them. That's how Everton work and Bill's not going to change that and start buying players without the manager's consent and especially as we have no manager.
2) To the second comment, I don't, hence why I put "chances are" & "might not be interested" so read the post thoroughly first. Equally you don't have a f*cking clue who we're after. As I said in the first part of my response, transfers always went through Moyes, so seeing as he isn't manager anymore we MIGHT NOT be interested anymore.

The only targets we'll be getting will people like Shaun Maloney on a free or something or Scharner. great isn't it. really enthused and looking forward to next season with optimism.

Just goes to show how desperate many of us are when it comes to Everton - we're like addicts craving our next fix of gossip. How many posters have actually watched Negredo play at all - let alone watched him throughout the season - and are qualified to offer a proper evaluation of him? It seems that a name is mentioned as a possible past transfer target and we wet ourselves when another club is linked (unsurprisingly if the player is any good).

nice to see we are a making a mess of signing someone again we seem to find it very hard to sign anyone and anything a manager should be simple to sign as should a player but we seem to mess it up time after time other teams are signing top players while we are playing games with Wigan tut tut bk sort it out or get out. gibbo

Every other club's fan forums has just as many posters disgruntled about their club and their failure to sign this player or their failure to win that trophy - we're not unique in that.

Exactly, £14M? behave, we may have that once Martinez signs a nice fat contract ably assisted by Whelan then sells all our best players to fund "his vision for the club" whatever that is.

So, our club should spend that amount on a player based on your extensive research of the player and your discussions with his agent and the player himself. I hope you get a finder's fee for unearthing this talent.

West Ham will be linked with loads of big names this summer and sign none. Happens every year. The are worse than us for conning fans by bidding for players they have no chance of signing just to make it look like they are trying.

Theres more strikers in the world that can do what he does, and chances some are cheaper aswell, stop acting like he's our must buy when he's never proven himself in the prem anyway, just see what happens

He jumped ship after guiding Wigan out of top flight football, ok he has had to sell any player worth a few mill or more but this choice ( if its true ) is not good enough, I think he will do well with moyes's side but the transition to his side scares me! Can he spot them like moyes? because we ain't got much more money then Wigan

Whelan has shouted his mouth off early as Everton are still negotiating with Wigan for two of their back room staff. Everton can't announce the deal for RM until these men are signed aswell. Whelan trying to force Bill's hand into an instant compo agreement for the backroom staff aswell. Bill is having none of it hence the latest announcement and will play the long game to get the best price for the backroom staff aswell. This is my theory anyway.

an eye for spotting a player still lies with the scouts not the manager. if we keep the same scouting system, why would we be in trouble with the transition period between moyes' squad and the squad martinez will build? I would be much more concerned if he deploys the tactics of 3-5-2 to efc, when our tried system of 4 at the back has been so solid and effective for years gone by, especially now we have a 2nd outlet from fullback with seamus coleman to compliment the ever effective leighton baines. Plenty of managers could have done a better job. tony pulis style kept stoke in the league and martinez style definately wouldn't keep stoke up.

Dave Whelan did exactly the same thing last year when Liverpool were courting Martinez. The man is a t!t.

If martinez does arrive very likely to bring mcmanaman and mcarthy with him in both for 4 million each.
