It's boll....s, apart from the fact that baines is a committed blue, and would only go if pushed, would you lay out 20m on someone going into a major torniment, who may come back with a long term injury ?
Agree0
Disagree0
Definitely won't be announcing any signing during the Euros, and as for the move, still questionable, it is well known United isn't going to have a shedload of money, not to mention there main priority is trying to find central midfielders, and spunking 20mil on Leighton Baines, a position which their captain for this season plays and is only 31, just doesn't make sense to me.
Besides, I would imagine, Moyes would rather sacrifice Jags and Rodwell if money were needed than Leighton Baines, because those other two are expendable, but Leighton Baines is our only recognised LB in the squad. {Ed025's Note - good point..

I have heard that Moyes is going back in for Kyle Naughton after failing to get him 1st time round. He always believed that he was the better of the 2 between him and Walker. Makes sense if true as a good young right back is what we need unless he has plans for Seamus to play there.

Have decided that besides Pienaar, the best realistic (although I'm not saying it will happen) signing Everton can make in this window is Yoann Gourcuff. We've had a bit of a creative gap since Arteta left and although Pienaar has done and hopefully will do more amazing work, I think Gourcuff is a near perfect replacement for Arteta. He still has just less than 3 years on his contract I think, but has had 2 poor to mediocre seasons, a couple injuries and has just been excluded from the French squad. I'd value him at 7-10million pounds. A bit out of our range but I'd love to sign him.

breaking news in and around the ground at lillestrom have said they have recieved bids from two premiership teams for influential duo Björn Bergmann Sigurðarson and Erling Knudtzon, the bid for Björn is rumoured to be either everton or reading whoever it is its supposedly about to be accepted 21.7 million kroner so just on 2 million pound while Erling has been linked with stoke, spurs and fulham in the past is going for under 18 million kroner so about 1.5 million ish.
i have a quite alot of friends over there who have all said Sigurðarson is th real deal, pace in abundance, creative, works the channels and can finish, got a tendancy to try shots from 30 yards though, but still he has the height for the prem 6ft mark, though the people on here who have said hes physical are completely wrong hes like a prima donna rather than a big dunc, very very similar to van der vaart just has pace

I never take notice of rumours in the press regarding our players future's especially at this time of the year, but with Jagielka comments "we will have to expect that Fellaini may leave if the price is right" now i am concerened BUT if we can get 25-30 million for Fellaini and Moyes gets ALL of the money to improve the squad i wont be too disappointed although Fellaini is a top player if we get a good fee and get 3-4 players in it wont be the end of the world in my opinion

Not being funny but most of Evertons big players are multi-millionaires, so when the club is struggling like this to get someone back to Goodison who is as influential tot he team as Pienaar, and Everton can come up with maybe half of the £6m price tag, why couldent just 6 of Everton's top earners (Cahill, Jagielka, Fellaini, Jelavic, Baines and Howard maybe) donate half of a mil each to the club so that we could definately bring Pienaar back, maybe even Pienaar himself, if he really wants to be at Everton as much as he claims and play 90 minutes every week he could come up with a couple of mil of his own money to push the deal through. Which in my eyes with Jela, Felli, Baines and Pienaar all starting the season for us could see us finish in the Champions league spots, would this be unreasonable Ed ? {Ed013's Note - It depends how they have invested their money}

It's fellaini's dad trying to push a move for him. He thinks fellaini should be playing champions league. Firstly, this is just a failed ex player trying to live through his son, and secondly an idiot. Everton could easily get champions league football with a few minor buys. Fellaini will almost certainly stay from what I've heard.

Man City are asking for £10m for Adebayor. This is 10/26 of the price they paid for him.
Spurs are asking for £6m for Pienaar. This is 2/1 of the price they paid for him.
Greedy Spurs. Always hated them.
Believable23
Unbelievable8
Hum, how much did we get when we sold lescott?
Agree1
Disagree0
I hate Spurs as well, but honestly, Pienaar is worth around 5-6mil. You only need to take a look at the effect he has had on the team, and it is easily worth 5-6mil. We are doing the exact same thing with Yobo and Fenerbache, last season we were holding out for 4mil for Yobo and he is even older than Pienaar I think. Football is a business, every team wants what is best for their team, and considering we sold him for 3mil in the last 6months of his contract, surely he is worth 5-6mil now despite one year older.
Think about it, if Pienaar was ours and some team like Spurs were interested, how much would you want for Pienaar??
Although, saying all this, I think we will get him for 4mil because Spurs will want to get rid, and Pienaar will force the issue to Everton.
Agree1
Disagree0
We sold Lescott for 25m. 5/1 what we paid for him.
We sold Arteta for 10m. 4/1 what we paid for him.
All clubs do it ..... if they can.

Whiteshadow, it's fine to do that once the players have improved, but Pienaar is two years older. Spurs are just greedy, holding us to ransom.

Yeah, you're right about him being older etc, only being a fringe player in their team. His price should reflect that tbh.

Believable10

I know I'll be shot down for this but I don't think we should bankrupt ourselves for peanuts. Plenty of good frees about.
We should show spurs that we no mugs and walk away if price too high. I'm sure it'll have dropped by Jan after a few months on the bench. We could try again then.
Agree1
Disagree0
To be fair to Spurs, £6m isn't huge. If Pienaar was our player now and he had about 3-years left on his contract, I'm sure we would also be looking for around that mark. Plus, I'm sure if Moyes offers £5m, then Pienaar will sign.
The question is, should we pay that much for a player that is 30 (ish)?
Agree0

If this is the case then no peanuts for us.

If they want Hibbert they can have him :-) I cant believe when we gave them Saha they didn't put a deal in place that would allow Piennar to come on the cheap after the loan, BK was with their chairman the whole of that day it could have been done!
