Hi Eds,

Just read (probably a shite rumour) that we are interested in Richarlison.

Do you know which clubs are interested in him and what price Watford would be looking for, before they let him go?

Cheers.

{Ed002's Note - Richarlison was attracting the attention of Roma, Napol, Chelsea, Milan and Ajax before Watford grabbed him in the summer. Since then both Spurs and two Chinese clubs have shown an interest although his new agent insits any change would be to a champions league club. I am not aware of any approach by Everton at this time.}

Thanks for the insight Ed.

{Ed002's Note - I can tell you Watford are miffed about this and see it as disruptive.}

Thursday nights game is a meaningless affair in all aspects apart from continuing to build on the confidence and momentum shown in the last 2 games. Sunday will be a huge test against - like it or not - a very good team full of pace and goals. Do we sit back and try to stop them scoring or do we go at them? Personally I'd prefer the latter especially if it's still 0 0 after 20 minutes. It may backfire but I'd rather get beaten having a good go than letting them walk all over us.

I would sit back and frustrate them, they struggle when teams defend in numbers, give them space and they will tear into us, get them on the counter attack, we need confidence and results before we go all gun ho.

It will be typical Big Sam tactics. Packed defence, frustrate the opposition at every opportunity, hit them on the break when we can.

In all probability it is too much to ask for a win against Liverpool. They are in form and their pace is devasting, I agree with Bazwill, best to frustrate them. On another matter, I commented on here ages ago that Big Sam was/ is not the neanderthal that a few on here maintained. At the time I said he (Sam) was a lot more modern in his outlook than many of these so-called 'new school' Managers. I pointed out that Sam used among other methods Sports Psychology, and what do we hear and read today, yep exactly that.

Tbh Sam has touched lucky. Bit of a no lose situation. He's joined a club where expectations have been lowered by poor recent results but with some quality players and the chance of a decent transfer budget. It'll be interesting to see how he perform with this 'better' squad and whether he can push us to challenge again
Sometimes the best managers and players are often the ones that we think are not as big a name or of high enough perceived quality.
Look at Cahill, Reid, bracewell, Southall. Loads I can mention that cost buttons or were injury prone and done really well for us.

Any interest still in Giroud? Interesting reports about his playing time for Arsenal coming out!

{Ed002's Note - Not from Everton as far as I know.}

Rumours in some of the rags say we are looking at N'Zonzi and Deeney?!? Really? I'd have hoped with the so called massive war chest at his disposal Big Sam would be looking for much better quality than that.

n'zonzi is quality, but another cm is that what we need? deeney on the other hand completely agree.

What massive so-called chest? There isn't necessarily that much to spend. A £10 million player might cost £40 million over the length of his contract and Everton just spend £130 million on new players, with the associated additional costs.

There is going to be more caution at Everton about wasting even more money. Yes, Allardyce will have funds but you can rule out spectacular buys in January.

Deeney is a logical buy but Everton probably 2 strikers, not just one.

And don't forget that players have to want to join the club in the first place.

The only thing so far not reported in the rags is this "So called massive war chest".

So Fatdave, Deeney, a Championship striker at best, is what we should be looking for? Really? As a main striker? or a benchwarmer which he's not happy being at Watford? Do me a favour. Oumar is more productive than him. I do agree we maybe need 2 but a wee bit more quality please. As for players have to want to come in the first place, if they don't think we are good enough then they can jog on.

Hey Ed 025,any take mate on Troy Deeney, I see his name is being linked with us over a possible Jan move As Big Sam looking for a striker.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

{Ed025's Note - i would hope for someone better myself GB, he has been linked before and he is a decent hard working forward but would not be my first choice mate..

04 Dec 2017 11:04:58
Thanks Ed probably just the rags printing usual rubbish.

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed025's Note - i suspect so mate..

04 Dec 2017 11:37:55
Ed025 you say you would hope for someone better, I think you are missing something here mate, He IS better than what we currently have. When building it is always important to have foundations built first and then go for the quality build.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i think deeny is better grumpy but will he get you 20 goals a season?....i suspect not, very good back up though but not the marquee signing im hoping we sign mate..
