Ye according to the echo and it's genuine interest so they have been told.

OK so I was playing golf yesterday at a company get together and a few of them were solicitors. All a bit up their own bottom. However two of them do contract advice for sports companies but not necessarily clubs or that.

One of them said he'd heard a couple of things in his circles about our search for a manager and that one of the delays was because we wanted to talk to a few managers but SOME were international managers and had commitments (no names were mentioned) . Not only that but getting meetings organised is not easy and it's not just the manager and agent you speak to but a multitude of people.

To be honest I never thought of the international commitments and makes sense I suppose. However, I take what solicitors say with a pinch of salt anyway as they are masters of blowing smoke up your erm bottom.

. telegraph reporting in the last few mins that Everton are to try and land 'Monchi' from Seville with Moshiri making him an offer he can't refuse. well, well, well - the plot thickens. if this was to happen, does that mean we! 're going all out for Emery?

Believable3 Unbelievable2

31 May 2016 16:15:39
Yes, just read this, as far as I can tell the Telegraph don't usually write rubbish, I mean as oppose to the Mirror and all those comics newspapers.

I'm trying not to get too excited but I can't sit still either, doing my head in all this.

Agree5 Disagree3

{Ed002's Note - Finally people are beginning to understand things better. Firstly - remove Emery from the equation as there are no dependencies. Secondly, yes, as I have already explained on the European pages there are clubs interested in Monchi, and yes, two of those clubs are from England and yes, one is indeed Everton. People need to step back and stop thinking of Mourinho and stop demanding immediate knee jerk recruitments. I know the supporters don't want to, but the club needs to have the time to do the right thing.}

31 May 2016 17:11:38
. brilliantly put Ed. couldn't agree more mate. exciting times ahead 1 thinks!

Agree3 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - Everton see Monchi in the role of a Sporting Director where he would oversee all of the footballing activities from the first team to the kiddies. He would oversee all of the scouting and would act as a buffer between the manager and the board. He would also take responsibility for policy regarding the way forward on the pitch and for transfers. It would be a great addition and would give the club a really good chance going forward. I suspect most of the fans would be against it as they seem to think everything is the responsibility of the manager and everything revolves around him - it doesn't in the modern game but there is little point explaining that sadly. Whether or not it will happen is another matter entirely, but it underlines the need for planning, taking time, and doing the right thing.}

31 May 2016 17:12:50
Hi ed do you think this fella would be a good suit to us or even the premier league? And is there any real interest from us in emery or have they got cross wires because we've been looking at monchi.

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - monchi would make an excellent sporting director eddy, he would be a great addition and his achievements speak for themselves mate, he would be the link between the new manager and the board and would oversee everything from scouting, recruiting, youth set up and sponsorship, the emery link means nothing though and it seems very unlikely im afraid..

31 May 2016 17:16:06
Think you are right on us taking our time and doing right thing Ed, but GOD it's really not easy being a blue.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - it never has been bobslad..im currently serving a 58 yr life sentence being an evertonian mate..and no parole.. :)

31 May 2016 17:23:51
It does make sense to have a slower more measured progress as this would allow energy to be put into the effort of making ground on a new stadium.

Indeed

There's emery chance that there will be a manger in place by the end of the week.

On another note I see that the Official Site is down.
GOT too

Oooh eeeerrrr.

Having a Sporting Director like Monchi would be an excellent move for Everton. It would then allow employment of a first team coach. de Boer or even Unsworth could fill this role and focus on the team rather than the full managerial role. Very pleased to see that the club is taking it's time to get the right team in place and going for the very best available.

I find it quite interesting reading in various sources which players we are supposedly interested in. If we have no manager and no sporting director, who then is deciding who we should go for? Could it be that the future sporting director / coach is already giving instructions? The plot thickens better than my home made gravy lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - There is not plot to thicken. This has been dealt with.}

31 May 2016 22:58:49
Man Utd are after Monchi, so i don't think he will be coming to us, b nice if he does, but i think he will choose Utd.

Just a quick thought and that was that earler this week i read that emery might be willing to come to us but had some demands of his own and i was wondering if moncha coming as director of football was one of them and if so with him just leaving sevilla then just pissibly maybe " who knows we just don't know yet".

So I just read that we are interested in jack grealish? This can't be true!? He struggled to get in the villa side! Have you heard anything on this one ed? The kid had shown some talent but it wasn't often enough for me!

I like the lad, wouldn't want us to make the move though. Keep an eye but watch and wait.

Watched him playing in the England U21s recently in a couple of matches and played well also scoring a couple remember some teams cannot get the best out of players. However being photographed face down P####d on holiday didn't help his cause at Villa.

31 May 2016 15:54:55
me too i think he is crap, well overrated and has a bad attitude. its a no from me. i am confused how can we be linked with any players if we avin got a manager. any links with players i would take with a very big pinch of salt.

Agree2 Disagree1

01 Jun 2016 21:45:48
Maybe if Villa had played him a bit more they would have fared a bit better. As for being crap, he still plays for England U21's putting in good performances and scoring goals.
He's a good player and would possibly be a good signing, but like others I fail to see how we can be linked with players when we have no manager or chief scout.

Something is going on at Sevilla. Their incredibly good and highly sort after Director of Football Monchi (9 trophies in 10 years at a 200 million profit in the transfer market) looks like he is walking.
Not suggesting it has anything to do with Emry or us but it's nice to dream of them as a combination.

He is wanted by Mourinho at United but would be great if we could have him.
