why do so many people want james mcarthy to leave? once fit he starts every game in this system million percent. i think he is better suited to this system than gana but would play both as j mac can get forward as well.

Time has passed injuries caught up and taken edge off him much like Besic sadly. Potential but never fully materialised. That said always gave 100% unlike so many of recent seasons.

Taken edge off? How can people come to such conclusions when neither Besic or McCarthy have played for Everton since there horrific injuries. Fair enough if you want to sell them and you don't think they are valuable to club. Would love to see both given a chance again. Boro are over the moon they got Besic again.

nbtb i think if i remember corectly you said you are irish like myself. i think sometimes we might take it to heart when people write of mc carthy or slag of coleman because of this. but i am with you 100% on this one. mc carthy is one of the only players we have that literally put their bodies on the line week in and week out for us. mc carthy unfortunately has become so injury prone its a shame because for me, he was a starter every week for his grit and determination alone.

I wouldn’t look at this current injury as him being injury prone tbh!
This was a freak injury from putting himself in harms way to clear danger!
I think a 3 in middle of Schneiderlin, McCarthy and Gana
Could be the difference in big games!
Most of the big clubs play 3 cm
All usually technically good but usually only 1 of them up for a fight if it gets physical, that’s why teams like Burnley pull off shocks by being aggressive
I think those 3 all on the pitch at once will cause the likes of Silva and de Bruyne or Pogba an lingard
And especially Henderson and wijnaldum all sorts of problems
So for me McCarthy could be massive for us when fit!

Ed002. Do you think it was more about RB not meeting the price tag or Silva not wanting to sell. It’s just that we have cover on the left and in the middle. We’re not in Europe so it looks a little puzzling to me.

Oh well with Bernard injured, Bolasie and Vlasic gone and Richarlison suspended, the guy will have to knuckle down and take his chance.
Silva wants the player, he cannot be blamed for the past managers who overlooked the guy, or the dire football that was not suited to Lookmans style of play.
Silvas brand of football is right up Lookman street, this could be the opportunity Lookman has been waiting for.
If he is still unhappy come January then there’s the option to move then, for now though, with players missing, he has a great chance to force Silvas hand, and make himself undroppable.
Big thumbs up to Silva for sticking to his guns and not letting player power over rule what he is building at Everton.

I'm not sure Silvas style suits him. Yes Silva likes players to attack with pace which Lookman does but does he press? Or is he willing to track back and put a shift in?
The jury is out me thinks.
Lookman is a luxury player and you can't have too many of them in the squad.

I have posted on Management issues above so will not go on about it. Suffice to say if Lookman, representative or other had come to me (or relevant) and categorically stated they do not wish to be where they are, then it is obviously in the best interests of all concerned to reach an agreement. We have no idea what has actually gone on between Silva, Brands, Lookman and other players, but I would say witness the outgoings. I like what we have achieved in such a short timescale but my main doubt is Silva's commitment, History and CV do not bode well.

Evening guys
Just a quick note to those still stressing over adamola even the echo reporting he's DESPERATE to leave maybe he is but I wouldn't stick my neck on the line I promise you all (I even created an account after all these years of just being a nosing bystander) lookman accepts he's staying he's training hard and he is going to be a blue come September I had this on good word Monday and it's still the situation now so sleep tight blues an relax x.
