Am I right in thinking that galloway is a left back, and if so why are we pursuing him given that we have Baines, with garbutt and Oviedo both looking promising for the future. My guess is that we really aren't and that it's all paper rubbish but couldn't be sure.

He played CB mainly at MK Dons I think

Galloway can play CB and DM so is one for the future. If we get him. Good England U-21 prospect
Agree2

I have a sneaky suspicion that We might see Baines play in central midfield this season
Agree3

I'd understood him to be defensive mid / centre back. Have n't heard left back mentioned myself .

Roberto Martnez said we need a big number 9 and goes a give lukaku the number 10 shirt am just thinking maybe another big striker
Agree0
Disagree1
I think the number is irrelevant as Kone has the number 9 squad shirt. He just meant a big name striker. Be interested to see if Kone can have any impact next year
Agree1
Disagree0
Yeah number Is irrelevant he meant an out and out goal scorer. Tbh having kone pushing him this year will make him even better.

Rumour that only one more player will be brought in on a permanent deal and one loan signing. (Wide mid and forward). Besic seen as a cover at RB for Coleman short-term and Center Mid long term.
Believable3
Unbelievable20
I'd still expect 2 permanent in Henen and Galloway and maybe 2 loans,Atsu and 1 other.
Agree2
Disagree0
2 loan signings will be great for the club. Bobby is very trust worthy and knows what he is doing. He sees the the team from a managerial perspective wee see it from a fan perspective. He will always know what's best for the club. There's always the January transfer window to fill in the gaps too
Agree2
Disagree0
Hibbert is the backup right back like it or not but probably won't be needed much and I'm pretty sure bobby said two more players. One more permanent (henen) and one loan presumably in atsu or someone else.

Hi ed is it true that we paid 5mill up front and 5 mill per year for the next 5 for Lukaku if so that should mean we have a decent amount left to spend this summer.

Remember all those times when Ed02 was being grouchy and rude saying we could only sign Lukaku if Barkley was part of the deal. good times

{Ed002's Note - Or the club spend more than it can easily afford on the player?}
They will get it back in spades in 5 years though eh Ed002 as his sell on fee is money in the bank
Agree0
Disagree0
I suppose not easily but it looks like we afforded him after all. I think the club should still have some money left after henen and rom sign later though.
Agree0
Disagree0
I don't remember you saying it was Barkley OR us paying more than we could afford ed02. You've said all along it was Barkley or nothing. Maybe it is more than we can afford but this is finally everton making a statement to everyone that we've got ambition and we want to move forward and I for one am absoloutley delighted. After years of making do we're no longer happy to make the numbers up. There's no guarantees in football but at last we're having a bloody good go!
Agree0
Disagree1
{Ed002's Note - Nobody cares about statements and Everton offered more than any other club for the player - significantly more.}
30 Jul 2014 18:07:26
Ed 002, you sound very bitter.
Look, you got it wrong. Now get back up, dust yourself down and start again.
I don't like pointing out correction but when it's as astronomical as this then us Blues will have our fun
WHOOOOOOOP!!!!!!
COYB

{Ed002's Note - I sure as hell don't mind getting something wrong and what would I be bitter about? I explained 6 months ago Chelsea were seriously pissed at the player and wanted him sold. Try not to be an embarrassment. Nobody else was prepared to pay anything like the offer made by Everton.}
Dont forget we had quite a bit left over from the Fellaini, Anichebe, Jelavic deals. We only spent £14M on McCarthy and a bit on loan deals.
That leaves approx £25M if you think about it.
It was Bobbys plan all along! COYB!

30 Jul 2014 13:40:58
Everton have won the race to sign Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku for a club record £28.5m, according to Italian media.
Jose Mourinho sent the 21-year-old out on loan to the Toffeess last season where he scored 15 times in 31 appearances and will permanently dispense of him now Dider Drogba has returned to Stamford Bridge.
The move would be a coup for Everton manager Roberto Martinez, who appears to have shaken off competition from potential suitors including Real Madrid, German side Wolfsburg and Italian league champions Juventus for the Belgian international.

It will get done don't worry as he has only 2 years left on his contract, and he wants to return to Everton. If Chelsea stop that they could lose him for a lot less than Everton are offering this time next season when he has only a year left on his contract.
