RL76 wouldn't mind round or oval for a new stadium I think there's so much going on behind the scenes that when it's all announced there will be a few shocks love Good is on but it's time to move on just don't want a stadium like West ham.

{Ed025's Note - a team like west ham would be worse lee.. :)

Lee1878. An oval or round would look the great from the outside, just hope when it comes to the inside, they design it close to the pitch, so we can create atmosphere. The space behind then can be corporate etc.

The fans need to be as close to the action as legally possible, as is practical as possible! and outside the ground whether it be retro or avant garde and progressively groundbreaking . as long as it looks like we mean business on and off the pitch especially from the aerial and river view!
In fact a world renowned iconic symbol of Merseyside and Football.

Anyway something on those lines. . 😳.

I'd be concerned if the building of our new stadium was tied-in to the local council wanting venues for their proposed hosting of the Commonwealth Games (2026?) - especially if public funding and planning approval are key issues for the development of a new stadium for Everton. The local council would surely want a stadium that could host a range of sports - not just football.
Just look at how West Ham fans are now reacting to the London Olympic stadium, which is an athletics venue - not a football venue. They miss what they had at their old ground.
We surely want to keep the Goodson Park atmosphere and closeness of the fans to the pitch even in a modern stadium with up-to-date facilities.

{Ed025's Note - i agree sid..

''concerned''

Me too Sid. . There have been so many 'jack of all trades' stadia that do not fulfill the needs of the 'football fan' who is a differrent spcies all together from a spectator of the long jump let's say .
So sitting down in the cold light of day I would hope the decision makers avoid making this glaring blunder!

I happen to agree, I'm not fond of oval, bowl stadiums, the atmosphere is somewhat lost sometimes. I think we should have the fans as close to the pitch as possible, maintain the really intimidating atmosphere and keep it a place that teams hate to come too.
