Skysports reporting we will complete signing of digne tonight and we are going to offer picked new improved contract reflecting his performance in world cup.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Tonight?}

29 Jul 2018 22:26:06
I saw that on Sky as well but did have a similar reaction to Ed002 as it seemed weird timing.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Barcelona has released him from the tour. He will therefore fly to England, France or perhaps Spain. Regardless he will get his humongous ass to Everton in the next day or so and can do the deed once Barcelona has confirmed that money has been passed to the Spanish FA.}

29 Jul 2018 22:38:32
Barca tweeted that digne had left there tour to finalise his move away I know I thought tonight was a little optimistic skysports for you but all sounds promising though.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I think it would be reasonable to count this just about there.}

29 Jul 2018 23:05:40
Humongous ass? Won’t that slow him down?

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Jul 2018 08:49:22
Humongous ass is that what Hummus is short for?

Yea ed they actually said that. don’t know where’s they pluck these lines from. Medical staff contracts media staff all just say in finch farm waiting they don’t half talk some bull just state the facts 😂😂😂.

Silva bas said he was six new players before the window closes. Any ideas ed apart from digne and mine?

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - I have told you where I know of interest.}

29 Jul 2018 15:47:03
Sorry ed must have missed that one. Think we will need the six players that he talks of though because our current squad seem incapable of playing Silva tactics.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - My fear remains that Silva does not stay too long at Everton. I am sure he has a sgheet of paper with all of the player names on it and 10 have a red line through and there is a list of other he desires, with options, at the bottom.}

29 Jul 2018 16:04:05
We will just have to wait to see who or what happens. Clearly the press is just a scatter gun approach, the eds know less and less each window and some bloke at work is probably pulling your leg.

Need to tie up Digne ASAP and move on to other targets. Drinkwater has been mentioned today - he’d be a great addition. It would seem from various media outlets that RLC, Mawson, Rondon, Kalinic, Sidibe, Barrios. are available and they’d all strengthen our squad. It could be that players are waiting to see if any clubs with CL football will come in for them before signing for a club like Everton. It’s a shame, but there it is. Could mean our deals go down to the wire.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - These are just random players.}

29 Jul 2018 17:49:11
Drinkwater has no pace, he's strong and can pick a pass but is slower than my aunty jean with her false leg.

Agree1 Disagree1

29 Jul 2018 18:40:08
Aren’t all players just random players until we sign them?
Would just be interesting to know who we’d been in for and who we have interest in. Guess we’ll find out very soon! Do you expect us to be busy Ed?

{Ed002's Note - Read the posts.}

I've been reading in the papers that we are close to agreeing for the Celtic lad, surely we aren't after 2 left backs, reports can't be right, be nice thou .

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i cant see tierney leaving celtic this window simon..

29 Jul 2018 15:07:08
I hope so. That would be a shot in the arm. The noises coming from this Barcelona LB aren't very promising.

Hi Ed025 what's your take on the rags saying today that we have sanctioned a move for Pedro Delgardo, I have never heard of him mate just a young lad of 21.seem to remember though there was a guy of that name a few years
back who was very good in the a Tour de France lol.

Believable7 Unbelievable5

{Ed025's Note - that would be about right GB we always seem to be taken for a ride, nothing on him this end at the moment mate..

29 Jul 2018 12:25:34
Cheers mate.

Catalan press reporting the delay in digne signing is due to player waiting for better offers to come in for him but Barcelona say there confident of deal going through.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - he probably wants CL footy and who can blame him, nothing wrong with a bit of ambition..

29 Jul 2018 11:06:23
Well if that's true we need to withdraw the offer, we have enough half arsed players on big money without adding another who will only join us if there are no other options. I want us to sign players who'll run through walls for the team.

29 Jul 2018 11:20:12
I agree with you tipp, sick of footballers these days who think they deserve everything handed to them on a plate. Get someone that's going to break their neck to get us to the champions league!

Agree0 Disagree2

29 Jul 2018 11:20:28
They don’t make many like that any more Tippblue. It’s the same outside of football. Also we are hardly an aspirational destination for players these days, as much as it pains me to say it. A lot of the players we are looking at weren’t even born when we last won a trophy.

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - very true windsor..

29 Jul 2018 11:21:37
I can see eds point what player wouldn't want to play champions league if we do sign digne then still think he would want to prove himself here as he will want to reclaim his place in the French national side.

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - its a job to them you know guys, who would not want to work for the best company they could?..

29 Jul 2018 11:21:57
I am already very pessimistic about our chances for the new season, Marco Silva doesn't have the players to play the style of football he wants, far too slow, we need that left back ASAP, and we need someone with pace to replace Schneiderlin, the same for Jags at centre back, and I am afraid to say Micheal Keane has got to go, he is honestly in my opinion not good enough to play for us, he gets left for dead time and again by simple tricks, he either marks too tight or not at all, so flat footed it's unbelievable.

Agree4 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - its going to take time danny and we all think we have the answer, but the manager must make these decisions and he will rise or fall by them, its not just as easy as get this player and get rid of him mate..

29 Jul 2018 12:15:28
I realise that Ed, it's just that if you ask most of the match going fans their opinion of Keane based on last season and this pre season I tho k most would tell you the lad isn't up to the job of playing for us, Jags and Bainsey are 36 and 34 respectively so their lack of pace is understandable, but if we are going to play high pressing/ counter attack football then it's clear to me we cannot do it with the current personnel, and I can't help but think the pursuit of the 2 Barcelona Ayers is doomed to failure, we need pace right through the centre of the team, and the left back position, if we don't get it in the next 10 days then I'm afraid Wolves will take our defence to the cleaners on the opening day.

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - yes we do need improvements especially in defence danny and im sure silva and brands are trying, but it has to be the right player mate or we will be back to square one..

29 Jul 2018 13:39:49
Digne has already said his goodbyes to teammates and is happy to join us. He played with Gana earlier in his career. Mina is the one pushing for CL club. This is all from the Spanish press close to Barcelona.
