And I thought we were going to swap Wilshere for Barkley?

Damn, lol :-)

Believable4 Unbelievable9

29 Jul 2014 22:55:27
Wilshere plus how much?? :)

Agree1 Disagree0

He's a crier that Wilshere!

Agree1 Disagree0

Do one gooner give us 50 million plus and jack to clean boots we might think about it. Lol

Agree2 Disagree0

Ross is smoking hot, Jack is smoked out & out gunned

Agree1 Disagree0

I wouldn't swap but I'd have Wiltshire. He's such a gifted footballer but he needs a lot straightening out like falling over every time there 's a gust of wind

Ed is there any sell on clause with Fellini?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - im not sure dixie mate..

29 Jul 2014 21:34:23
Sell on clauses usually kick in when there's a profit. There's no way United will make a profit on Fellani.

Agree3 Disagree0

They're not having any money back!

A tabloid contacted the official Chelsea megastore this afternoon to buy a Courtois goalkeeping strip.

But a shop worker refused the request and said: "We're not printing Courtois shirts because he's yet to be given a squad number."

The same response was given upon asking for a Lukaku shirt.

It adds to the speculation that both Courtois and Lukaku could be set for at least another season away from Chelsea.???

Believable8 Unbelievable8

29 Jul 2014 19:17:11
How cool is that,

A talking tabloid. Wow

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - love it dixie..

29 Jul 2014 19:36:59
Not any rumour but does anyone reckon Martinez will have McCarthy and Barry in the prem and Besic and Gibson in the Europa league

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - it well could be ty..

Think Besic could get a lot of Prem time.

Agree2 Disagree0

Or. they haven't been given a squad number.

Agree1 Disagree0

The reason they haven't been given squad numbers is Courtois maybe given Cechs squad no. If he his binned/sold and Lukaku clearly is leaving. Just hope we've agreed a fee.

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Jul 2014 16:29:24
. a deal for Romelu Lukaku has been agreed & is immenant I've been told.fee reported to be around 24 million & paid over 3 years. expect another press conference b4 the weekend!! Well in Ross by the way, already an everton legend & true blue - are you watching Wayne? :)

Believable20 Unbelievable13

29 Jul 2014 17:22:24
Love the comment about Wayne once a blue always a blue etc.

Agree0 Disagree0

Barkley signing on and the imminent return of Lukaku is making me get excited. I'm glad iv just got my season ticket in the gwladys street end. COYB

Agree1 Disagree0

This was on ssn earlier, still think it is going to take a while for a done deal, if it happens

Agree0 Disagree0

Get bored asking, but you got told by who? Sister of a girlfriends Dads Uncle?! I got told Neville Southall and Kevin Ratcliffe were going to turn up at my wedding to represent the club in 1986. guess what, it never happened. it was a trick to get me to the Alter.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - love it howie.. :)

29 Jul 2014 18:40:44
this is just repeating what ssn said before

Agree0 Disagree0

He is repeating what's being reported on various media outlets but in fairness if he watched the news on tv then technically it was what he was hearing!

Agree1 Disagree0

If the rumours r true that we paid 5 mill loan last year that means we will have paid 29 mill 4 him far 2 much but that's my opinion if he scores 20+ goals next year everyone will say bargain

Agree0 Disagree1

29 Jul 2014 23:31:36
We need another top class striker along with Lukaka. We sold Jelavic for 7.5m, Aniechebe for 6m and Fellanini 28m and we bought Mc Carthy for 13m. The 3 wages combined paid for Lukaka and Barry wages so we have 28m left from last year. Besic 4m + Lukaka 24m. We should still be able to buy a 10-15m striker - I would love someone like Bacca he looks vg and imo would be great in premier league.
Bobby will also bring in one or two loans though astu imo, from what i've seen of him in world cup is pretty poor.

Agree1 Disagree1

6m for Kone plus his wages? The Barry fee? The loan fees? Compensation costs for Bobby and his team?

It's a lot more complicated, I'm sure, but the money goes quickly.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note -

As for transfer fees, what is paid by the buying club would typically include:

(a) Transfer fee - the big number.
(b) Any levy applied by the local FA – 5% for the EPL.
(c) Tax due on the transfer fee – typically this will be VAT (at varying rates across Europe) some or all of which should be reclaimable.
(d) Agent fees – this may be to one or more agents (as an example, Liverpool have spent £25M plus VAT on agent fees over the past three years leading to this window).
(e) Tax due on the agent fees – typically this is VAT at the local rate where the agent bills from – it is not reclaimable.
(f) Intermediary fees – this may be to one or more sponging leeches(what do you mean you have a super agent?) .
(g) Tax due on the Intermediary fees – typically this is VAT at the local rate where the Intermediary bills from – it is not reclaimable.
(h) Signing on fee to the player (possibly including non-reclaimable VAT if the player is VAT registered).
(i) Legal fees.
(j) VAT on legal fees which is reclaimable.
(k) Moving/relocation costs for the player.
(l) VAT on moving/relocation costs which is reclaimable.
(m) Paying up insurance costs to the selling club (sometimes waived).
(n) Variables and tax on variables which may or may not be reclaimable) – these would typically include legal fees, moving/relocation costs, etc.. This was off the top of my head and I may well have forgotten something. The big numbers are the transfer fee, agent fees (as an example, Liverpool have spent £25M plus VAT on agent fees over the past three years) and possibly other intermediary fees (what do you mean you have a super agent?}

What is paid by the selling club would typically include:

(a) If the player is under 24, a Solidarity contribution paid to his previous clubs responsible for his training - this is 5% of the transfer fee received.
(b) Any monies owed to the player if he did not request a transfer – again this is 5% of the transfer fee received.
(c) Any monies owed to the player in terms of his contract (typically outstanding wages and bonuses).}

Great news. Ross just signed new 4 year deal. Things looking up, can't wait for next season. COYB

App atsu has been sent home to speak to us an villa about loan. As you can't loan two players from same club I'd say lukaku lookin good. Sky sayin it's close. £24m over three years. Btw new account an first post. Go easy ha

Believable7 Unbelievable5

{Ed025's Note - welcome mate

29 Jul 2014 16:31:02
Bang on the money lad.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ctrefc: welcome to the website.
Enjoy the banter - the craic is highly entertaining on here and the Eds aren't afraid to call a spade a shovel in their comments :-)
Take most rumours with a large dose of salt - especially the really daft ones.
Oh - one other thing - don't forget about our manager: he's the right one, he's the bright one, he's Martinez!

Im hearing from a source at the club Manchester United set to offer 10m and either cleverly/anderson in exchange for james mccarthy. You heard anything ed?

Believable1 Unbelievable14

{Ed025's Note - no tony..

They're not fit to lace jimmy macs boots. God I hope not!

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Jul 2014 16:17:48
I just spat my pint all over Selina. Good job I've been tipping her for 8 years otherwise I'd be in trouble!

Agree0 Disagree0

Anderson - no chance.
Hope Jimmy Mc wants to stay but if not then Cleverley + 15m is where negotiations start

Agree0 Disagree1

Ye my sentiments exactly mate, hope this is just the journos stirring the pot a bit. Jimmy Mc was quality last year after his 13m move. The money and players to exchange are both ridiculous. Cleverly must be worth all of 2m, and I'm being generous at that, Anderson possibly £2.99 so where do they get 10m plus one of these two?

Agree0 Disagree0

£25m and Cleverley at least! When buyin is one thing. When selling its another!

Agree1 Disagree0

From what Iv heard McCarthy to United is looking increasingly likely, perhaps why Besic was brought in as with Barry, Besic and Gibson we seem t have enough defensive mid. Anderson is useless but Bobby clearly rates Cleverly (only Bobby and Cleverlys mum do mind). I'd rather pure cash deal if he is going to go, splash out to get some back up for Rom!

Agree0 Disagree1

29 Jul 2014 17:21:45
So just 10m then

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi all, You can rest assured Martinez favorite son McCarthy is going nowhere, he will be next to sign a new long term contract rumoured to be before the window closes. Only a huge offer of 30+ would be even considered and may still be rejected, as McCarthy is very happy with us. Don't foresee any of our first team being allowed to leave in this window. Keep up the good work Roberto and Bill. COYB.

Agree2 Disagree0

H

10m and one of those narners?

10m wouldn't get Mccarthys little toe!

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jul 2014 14:20:43
. not sure I liked the sound of James McCarthys comment in an interview he's just given about being flattered by interest from Man Utd.& he goes on to say "we'll see what happens". I hope the press are playing with words here.always saw him as our next club captain in years to come. by the way folks, what about 'Emineke'?!? Available for around £16 million apparently, looked decent in the World Cup.could be a viable alternative to Lukaku if we don't get him! :)

Believable1 Unbelievable5

29 Jul 2014 16:15:52
Zacki lad, c'mon he didn't even even score and ran to the corner flag like his Mum was knocking flapjack. I wouldn't have him for 2mil

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheap journalism. The (Manchester) Guardian was reporting earlier 'Barkley to Manchester United'. That one just got nailed

Agree0 Disagree0

Emenike? The guy that has been accused of lying about his age and match fixing? The one that looked utter dross at the WC? Rather stick with Kone.

Agree0 Disagree0

Like RM has often said, the interest in our players by the wealthier, big-spending and recently more successful (i.e. Champions League qualifying) clubs is a compliment to how well our players and our team have done.
Also, like RM has often said, we're not under financial pressure to sell our players and any that do leave will be because RM makes a football decision to let them move on.
IMHO, it's more likely that McCarthy will get an extended contract here than be transferred.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jul 2014 14:16:27
Anything behind the rumours that McCarthy might be leaving?

Believable0 Unbelievable8

{Ed025's Note - not as far as i am aware huw..

Ed025: the only thing behind this is a lazy journo making up a non-story that then gets picked up by all of the other media and is regurgitated by them.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i agree sid..

29 Jul 2014 14:14:10
Lukaku posting pic of his siblings in EFC kits today.

Believable6 Unbelievable6

You got a link to that Howie?

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jul 2014 14:04:44
Heard a rumour from a decent source that we're interested in Callum mcmanaman from Wigan

Believable7 Unbelievable5

That old chestnut!
Isn't this story permanently filed alongside the Riquelme rumours that crop up every transfer window?

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jul 2014 13:52:49
Just heard that there is a Press Conference today at 4.00 at Finch Farm. Is this for Roberto to announce something 'big' on the Lukaku front? Just hoping.

Believable4 Unbelievable3

Am hearing it could be to reveal cleverly. just gossip not itk.

Agree0 Disagree0

Henen and Difara Sakho deal done.

Eds anything on kagawa to everton? All the reports indicate that he is free to leave united and he could be the perfect long term replacement for pienaar and the left sided attacker who we need now unless of course he wants champions League.

Believable3 Unbelievable4

{Ed025's Note - i just cant see it BM..

Would be incredible for us I reckon, can't see it though

Agree1 Disagree1

Kagawa apparently going back to germany

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jul 2014 12:07:27
ssn just reporting everton have some major news later but not lukaku but it's close to a 25m also atsu could come I expect a big few days Martinez speaks on ssn later.

Believable8 Unbelievable2

29 Jul 2014 12:14:14
Havnt seen this, any ideas what it is? Have ssn confirmed £25?!

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jul 2014 12:44:58
I remember getting excited last year(or January) about a big announcement and it turned out to be goodison would feature in the FIFA football computer game or something similar.

Agree0 Disagree0

There's nothing on ssn website? Mobile app? Twitter feed? Actual channel? Where did you hear/see this?

Agree1 Disagree0

Ssn reported that everton are getting closer to a £24M deal for lukaku & said if we don't buy him we will ask to loan. Also said us an villa have permission to talk to atsu about a loan, which we could only do if we buy lukaku. The last part said martinez is on later with a major announcement not lukaku. New contract possibly a few i'm led to believe

Agree0 Disagree0

Funny that I've been watching ssn and saw nothing!
Always suspect rumours that don't make sense when you try to read them??

Agree0 Disagree0

I have just seen that. But it said we are close to a permanent 24 million pound deal for Lukaku but we are trying to pay it over three years. If that's the case what does that tell us about our financial situation

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - most transfers are done on the never never jimmy, i would have been very surprised if it were not mate..

Press conference is confirmed now but signings never get announced like this so sadly it won't be Lukaku (which Sky confirmed and the odds on their betting arm havnt changed). New contracts is the most likely reason, hope I'm wrong!

Agree0 Disagree0

I knew transfers from abroad were payed that way ed, wasnt sure about the situation between two prem clubs.Maybe we are trying to do it that way as we have something else up our sleeves.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - lets hope so jimmy..

Lukaku was 1/2 to sign for yesterday of sly spurts and today is 1/6. So what does this mean? Looking promising

Agree0 Disagree1

29 Jul 2014 11:30:41
Lukaku has recently bought a luxery apartment in the same block as my sister, don't think he would of bought it if he was not joining us!

Believable8 Unbelievable3

29 Jul 2014 11:48:28
Where does your sister live though, lol

Agree1 Disagree0

Turin mate ha. Only mesing she lives in apartments on the river by costco

Agree0 Disagree0

Everton have just bought another apartment on the L1 on thenstrand joel lives in one a new player is moving in next week

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jul 2014 08:02:11
Have patience dear boys and girls. Lukaku's agent is paid to get as much in transfer fees as he can. They get a % of it. Lukaku is obviously ambitious and he would love to win medals. He is hoping for a Champions League team to come in for him. If not, he will sign for us. Wolfsburg finished 6th last season I think. So it is very doubtful he will go to them. Juventus is a different matter. If they are after him, he will go. However, the reports are coming out of Spain? Don't they have press in Italy? Suspicious to me. Sounds like his agent trying to get a better deal from us.

Believable8 Unbelievable4

This Lukaku deal is winding me up now He's been he knows the fans love him and now he's dragging his feet. IMO I would start looking else where its obvious is hearts not in it or he would of signed by now

Agree1 Disagree1

Yes I am with you on that padlo 2201 give him till the end of the week and start looking for someone else, coyb

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Jul 2014 10:57:11
as much as I like Lukaku don't you think if he wanted to be at Everton he would be with us by now

Agree1 Disagree0

It may not be down to lukaku, it could be his agent etc. By all accounts he wants to come to us

I am as wound up as everyone else though, and I also think there should be a timeline on this deal

We need a top striker fit and ready for the start of season, NOT when we have played the first two or three games

Look at last year and how our slow start affected our finishing position

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Dixie i'm like you I think all of this is winding every one up but there must be someone else worth looking at just in case we loose out on Lukaku

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - there are other players being looked at AB, like sakho of metz..

I agree Lukaku needs to be sorted by this weekend at the latest, based on the number of senior figures talking about him I genuinely think it will happen. What do people reckon on the recent rumour of Kagawa joining us on loan? I rkn he could be decent.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i cant see it rich, united will see us as a threat, so wont want to strengthen us..
