Richarlison must be on the pitch thinking what rubbish have I joined here. Same old same old we are poor.

Couple of signings and we will be ok, new system and all that, result means nothing, it's about the players, Silva will now know who needs replacing and who stays, I'm sure we will see a lot better by the time the league starts .

The Blackburn game started with Sigs getting some game minutes and the rest of the squad who would probably be considered second, third or even fourth choice players in each position. The second half saw more of what would be more likely Silvas first eleven, but by then the damage was done and they couldn't build up a rhythm quickly enough against a Blackburn side that were far more prepared for a season that starts in 10 days. I wouldn't worry too much as I think it was an opportunity to make final decisions on places in the team, necessary signings and player exits. Sadly, some players have made it easier for Silva to make decisions on. Score doesn't really matter, but Silva did not look happy. At least 2 quality defenders are essential purchases this window, whoever they may be. Also thought that tackle on Baines in the last two minutes was a disgrace for a pre season friendly. But the reaction from the players should provide some comfort, as it highlighted that they were of the mindset that it was just a friendly to find fitness and form. I think we'll see a much more focused squad in the next game.

I see Dortmund have bid for mina but not as much as us but Barcelona want 35 million and a buy back option I tell Barcelona to do one on the buy back clause and start looking for another solution to are centre back situation and focus on seeing if we can sign digne.

I don't think they will get 35m and a buy back clause so could imagine them sacrificing their askig price or clause. That is of course if that is true.

I think it would be smart business to get the mina deal Done!

Work out a 2 year, potential buy-back in Barcelona favour, exactly the same as the delefeu deal, we came out financially on top and it keeps a good relationship.

It will also give Mina added motivation to make his mark in the 2 years he would have in premier league.

For me; Mina is our #1 priority signing.

If not him, it needs to be a Young, tall, talented centre back who is currently 3rd choice or so.

Is there any efc interest in Maxine final one? I've seen storys online and it's mentioned on the roma fan pages. Any truth?

Saw that on SSN earlier. Don’t remember seeing much of him. What type of midfielder is he? Box to box?

Agree0 Disagree1

27 Jul 2018 13:12:50
Think he's a combative defensive midfielder with an eye for a forward pass. Possibly similar to Schneids but better, although hasn't set the world alight at Roma.

I think if we can get Digne and Mina both signed along with Richarlson it shows a massive step in the right direction that DOF and manager getting their targets and in a professional manner. Looks like we are doing the right things at the moment and gives lots of optimism for the future.

Robbie it seems like Barcelona want to insert a buy back clause in any deal for mina bit similar to what they had with del boy not too keen on any buy back option involved in any potential deal for mina as Barcelona would come out winners in this and not us.

Agree4 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Without a buy back option his price goes up. It is common practivce for certain clubs and is rarely invoked - and the player doesn't need to say yes.}

As far as I can see there are two different but linked issues involved in the Watford case.
1. Did EFC break the rules? If they did that ought to be fairly straightforward to prove.
2. Did the alleged rule break cause Watford’s collapse in form? This appears to be virtually unprovable. It might appear to be a logical conclusion to draw but it could have been any number of other factors. I very much doubt that the CPS would take a case with such little hard evidence to court!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - (1) Everton are not denying the illegal approach. (2) Watford are not seeking compensation, the CPS is not involved, and this is simply anecdotal and not the issue in hand.

The rules are simple and clear. Everton breached those rules.}

26 Jul 2018 15:16:11
Ed002: Sorry to keep on boring you on this topic, but if Everton are not denying the illegal approach that Watford are complaining about - and Watford have stated that they know they forfeited the right for compensation (by not following the proposed arbitration process) - what is stopping the authorities from penalising Everton for the illegal approach and be done with it? Do the authorities have to determine the relative seriousness of the “illegal approach” (even if not denied) in order to determine a fair and proportionate sanction - and do they like to take their time while hoping the complaint is resolved (dropped? ) without them?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The authorities woiuld need to form a Board or Commission to deal with the matter, and they would need statements from all concerned parties, Watford, Everton, Marco Silva and Carlos Concalves in order to have all of the facts available to them. There is no measure of the "seriousness" of the approach and it will take whatever time it takes to agree how it will be dealt with.}

26 Jul 2018 15:26:29
Ed002: Thanks for the explanation.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

26 Jul 2018 14:10:12
No I wasn’t suggesting the CPS were involved. I was merely pointing out that the two events (I. e rule break and collapse in form) cannot be proven to be connected even though it might be attractive to some people as an explanation. And I think Watford are indeed trying to connect the two!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Watford's compliant is regarding an illegal approach for their manager by Everton. Nothing else.}

26 Jul 2018 14:10:44
Any thoughts on what the repercussions might be? Are they angling for a points deduction?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - If it goes to a Commission hearing the options they have for any punishment are:
- reprimand
- an unlimited fine
- suspend the club from playing in League Matches or any matches in competitions
- deduct points
- impose a transfer ban
- recommend that the League expels the club from membership}

Klassen on his way to Bremen this afternoon.

The transfer fee is reportedly around £12m with the potential to rise to over £13m, which is a big loss on the reported £23.6m paid last Summer.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Jul 2018 14:40:32
Don’t know anything about the fee I just know he’s taken off from Manchester airport and arrives at Bremen airport at 17.00 German time.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Is it possible to fly direct from Manchester to Bremen?}

26 Jul 2018 14:53:10
On a citation I jet yes. It’s a flight time of around 1 and a half hours.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I rater doubt he would be on a Citation 1 out of Manchester. So Twitter then.}

26 Jul 2018 14:57:05
would have to be private plane mate otherwise no you can't go direct.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jul 2018 15:01:40
I work for the jet operator flying him so no, not Twitter. It is also Bremen who booked the flight not him. He’s traveling with 2 other people. One I believe is his girlfriend the other a gentleman by the name of Kaj Lerby I’m guessing. He is involved with Klassen rather than Bremen. Please note I’m breaking confidentiality agreement saying this so I will not go as far as to name my company.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - So, they found some 30 or 40 year old Citation 1 and rented it?}

26 Jul 2018 15:08:19
Feel ............

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - No my question is about the Citation 1 - I don't even remember the last time I saw one for lease Svenny - the quit making them about 30 years or so ago and I don't recall flying on one since perhaps the early 90s.}

26 Jul 2018 15:21:56
It’d be appropriate if some of our surplus players were flown out on Fokker aircraft.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jul 2018 15:23:22
First of all they went through a broker. The broker contacted us, our CJ1 happened to be in Northolt so we ferried up we are currently flying and then after dropping him off we are returning empty to Northolt for a flight we have tomorrow. Costs 10,200 euro but probably more once the broker added their commission to it. Our CJ1 is fairly old but it is a 2002 model. During this season if you want to fly private on a go now basis you take what’s available because not much is.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Right it is a CJ1 not a Citation 1 - that makes far more sense.}

26 Jul 2018 15:29:14
Yes sorry I still call all our CJ fleet citations, old habit. It is pretty rare to get go now flights like this though for players normally a lot more scheduled than that. Not sure what the rush is either, it’s not deadline day.

26 Jul 2018 15:57:04
Fair play to you Svenny. That’s pretty good info there mate. I was going to ask you to look out for Yer Mina but now that Man U are interested it may be if he lands in Manchester it’s got little to do with us 😂.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jul 2018 19:18:32
For large parts of that exchange I thought you were saying Citroen C1. That would have been a mammoth journey!

26 Jul 2018 19:26:34
Do you know if the fee goes up to 13 million if he starts a game?

26 Jul 2018 12:50:28
Just been reading Mina to join us after Barcelona accepted our new offer of £27 mill, bring it on another one in.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

26 Jul 2018 12:59:04
I’m not sure they have accepted the offer yet GB but the report said it’s one they would likely approve.

Thought he fancied Lyon over us as well, apparently wants champion's league football.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Jul 2018 13:42:47
Then Lyon will have to match the bid we have made. Not sure if they have yet.
