Hi ed

Whats the chances out of 10 of signing mccarthy, marrone, moses?

Blue ste {Ed025's Note - 7..4..5..just my opinion ste..

Believable2 Unbelievable5

0 (we can't afford him); 0 (he'll want a club playing in European competition); 0 (well lose out to the darkside).
Not Mike - but just as pessimistic

It's embarrassing! The only club we have brought in from is Wigan. Now we are looking a McCarthy! I always think it shows how weak the manager is if he can't look further afield. I have no problem in bringing 1 maybe 2 Wigan players in but all of our signings? {Ed025's Note - robles was from athletico..

Believable10 Unbelievable7

We have brought 4 players in. One was from Wigan, one from Athletico, one was a free agent and the other is on loan from Barcelona! Yes all 4 from Wigan!

Agree3 Disagree1

We've only bought one Wigan player!Do try to keep up with the rest of us.Robles came from Atletico Madrid and Alcaraz was a free agent

Agree1 Disagree0

Well actually three of them played for Wigan. I have no problem with that providing they add value to our squad which is yet to be proved one way or the other,
Mike

Agree0 Disagree0

Kone has been the only Wigan player we've signed. Okay Alcaraz was a free agent, but Joel had a lot of potential before getting injured, I think McCarthy would be a great signing, as long as it is not £15m

Agree0 Disagree0

You must be a journo: don't let the truth get in way of a good story - or in your case a good whinge.
BaronHardup

Agree0 Disagree0

If quite easy to see what the poster was saying and he's right that the manager had not looked beyond his old club a club which remember were relegated and two points from two games not exactly the start to inspire

Agree0 Disagree0

Some people have short memories, where did we get baines from?

Agree0 Disagree0

Err, we signed Baines from Wigan, he turned out sort of okay.

Pull your heads in guys RM knows what he is doing, or would you prefer Gollum

Agree2 Disagree0

Hey

A short memory indeed, has he not brought in one of Barcelona's brightest talents for a song, didn't see him in a Wigan shirt last season and we wouldn't hsve had a hope in hell of getting him under Moyes. Get a grip, we are 2 games in. As and aside, I thought Kone looked a bit sharper when he came on at the weekend.

I surport everton an I believe the targets r talk kenwright has no money sell it for the sake of the club, we will sell felli with no incoming s because it will be to late same old story

Believable7 Unbelievable8

It would appear that it's only us and Newcastle who've not invested the increased tv money in the squad - think BK owes the fans an explanation - where's the increased money gone?

Agree3 Disagree0

Yet another stupid BK basher. If you actually read your newspaper and listened to the tv and radio you would know that our chairman has been trying to find a buyer for years. The awful truth is, we are not a very attractive proposition for investors. So until we get an Evertonian sugar daddy let's give BK our backing and trust him to do the best he can for the club.

Agree1 Disagree5

Doesn't it warm the cockles of your heart to read such articulate, well-reasoned and incisive comments as those so eloquently expressed in the original post? The added ingredient of irrepressible Scouse humour is a perfect counterpoint to the watertight logic of the poster's penetrative observations. Shut down this website now - the OP has said it all and there's nothing more to discuss.
What a t**t!
BaronHardup

Agree0 Disagree0

You believe that he's looking for a buyer you're more deluded than them across the park.
9 years to find a buyer! Jesus you must still believe in Santa!
Fulham found one in a week!
Dave M

Agree1 Disagree0

Please tell me who are these players?
If all we ever do is sell our best players than surely you have some actual evidence to back it up?

The players I can think of;
Rooney (Teenager we sold for up-to 30 million after finishing 17th)
Lescott ( Sold for 24 million and Baines took his place)
Rodwell? (Was a squad player, bright future but nowhere near our best player)
Arteta (Fair enough)

But what do Rooney, Arteta and Lescott have in common?
Rooney and Lescott handed in transfer requests and Arteta pretty much as good as did.

People say we sell our best players as if no one else does but that is football.
United sold Ronaldo, looks like Bale is off, Aresnal's list of best players sold dwarfs ours.

I am not saying kenwright is god. But to blame the realities of modern football solely on him is nonsensical

If we have bid for McCarthy does that fellaini is off? I would prefer him to stay but if he wants out then let him go but I really don't want utd to get there own way again, hopefully another club will get him if he goes! What do you know ed? Is felli off? Thankyou {Ed025's Note - if i was a betting man si, i would say yes..

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Mc carty is a top player. strong young and was always first name on team sheet for Robbie at wigan since he was signed from hibs at 18 yrs. don't worry bout him being another wigan player he much better than them, wel all realise though how big a loss big felli will be when he goes. u got to give him respect. he hasn't opened his mouth all summer- same for bainsey unlike others!

Agree2 Disagree2

Grass isn't always greener though. Hope the big fella stays.

Well just watched the Mancs an Chelski. Didn't see anything special, defences always on top, and overall the passing was average at best. I believe this lot win more games on reputation than talent. Think Spurs might just have a shout this season, would make a nice change. Might even have cheeky tender on it.

Believable5 Unbelievable5

Anyone moans about Martinez tactics and formations after this needs ejecting head first from their seats at the Grand Old Lady.
Chelsea started 4-6-0!

Everton and skunks bid for James McCarthy (sly spurts). Hope we get the lad in, would be a top signing alongside Fellaini or Gibson.

Believable9 Unbelievable4

26 Aug 2013 20:51:31
tv reporting us and Newcastle have made a bid for McCarthy must mean the big man is off and we will spend the money on crap sorry just think McCarthy is a load of crap and yet again another Wigan player anybody would think they won the league.gibbo

Believable11 Unbelievable9

McCarthy is far from crap. Granted he's a jack of all trades and master of none, but will only get better with age. Just because he does nothing spectacular doesn't mean he's crap. If he can impose himself on games a bit more he's got a very bright future. Good investment and great age, sincerely hope we get him.

Agree1 Disagree2

Agree1 Disagree2

I disagree mate the irish manager has already said he is to layed back and very quiet on the pitch so think it is a waste of money .gibbo

Agree3 Disagree2

Yes you're not far wrong there gibbo, but I believe he was suggesting that McCarthy had the talent in his locker to impose himself on games and dominate them more such is his undoubted talent.
We'll just have to agree to disagree on this one mate.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Aug 2013 21:58:27
Gibbo.I'm Irish and trust me a lot of us here don't think trapatoni knows what he is talking about.don't forget he didn't rate Coleman and wouldn't play him in the euro's.he wouldn't play Gibson either so gibbo told him where to go.mc carthy has a bright future ahead at club level and international level.

Agree1 Disagree2

Oh dear. I thought martinez was going to bring some flair. This is another yard dog. Backwards step and another wigan affiliate.

Agree2 Disagree1

McCarthy is a fantastic player.he is young, can pass and gets stuck in.granted wigan have overpriced him but if we could get him for about 10 million I would be happy

Joe Parkinson played for Wigan he did a fine job.

Agree3 Disagree0

Does the FA Cup count?. that's the big silver thing with handles in case you had forgotten.

Agree2 Disagree0

Think some people need talking down from the ledge. Wigan had some decent players in a team who beat Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool on recent occasions, something which we have not been able to do in most cases. They out played Man City during the FA cup final with some great displays of teamwork, heart and yes, occasionally, believe it or not - skill. They went down because they were without any of their first choice defenders for the majority of the season, with only inexperienced choices to cover. While Wigan were never particularly amazing, the team going down was not Bobby Martinez's fault, or Kone's or Alcaraz's. Robles wasn't even first choice keeper for most of the season! Give it a rest now, you misery sprayers!

We are starting to be linked with players again, which hopefully means that we are in for a couple. Have seen us linked with one of the Ayew brothers from Marseille for around 7M. New links with Moses surfacing. Jut seen a link with Kuzmanovic at Inter available for £1.8M apparently add this to Mcarthy, Marrone and Alderwield not to forget Barry interest being reported it looks as if we are starting to make movements again!

Believable7 Unbelievable3

We need to, stability is essential in midfield whether it be a marque signing or something along those lines, I would love for Marrone, McCarthy and Moses to sign (Moses on loan) because I don't believe Deulotheo (spelling) will get game time and I think Pienaar has been poor for 6 months now, although he's nowhere near as poor as Osman, personally i'd of played Johnny Heitinga on Saturday

Agree2 Disagree1

I hope so clarkey. I think we need news of baines signing new contract, felli to arsenal for £30mill and six new players coming in!

stewillow

Agree1 Disagree0

Deulofeu will get game time, Barca didn't send him out to sit on a bench all season.I expect Fellaini to leave and we need to replace him with McCarthy/Marrone and get Moses in too.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Aug 2013 16:49:19
Probably nothing in this but James McCarthy has removed Wigan Player from his twitter bio

Someone has posted on twitter that they got a lift to Piccadilly station today by Martinez after our U21 game and was told Baines is definitely not leaving and that Moyes has lost his memory very very quickly (prob in reference to Moyes behaviour and recent comments)

No mention of Fellaini but in my opinion I think the club, manager and player are happy for Fellaini to leave as much as they are happy for him to stay. He stays we keep a quality player. He leaves then Martinez brings in his own player(s) . IF he is given the cash to spend!

Papers saying The rubbish are in for Moses and Atletico Madrid in talks with Ajax over Alderweild . Hopefully just agent leaks in order to kick start any interest from us

I think it's going to be an interesting last week if the transfer window

Believable13 Unbelievable4

Ajax have rejected athleticos bid

I agree with what someone said before ed you keep saying we are going to make a big signing then we are going to have to sell then we only want moses on loan and you no one someone on the inside ed I think you are just like the rest of us on here we are all guessing it might rain tomorrow it might not.gibbo

We should get Fraser Forster when Howard retires, looks a great keeper, Newcastle made a mistake in selling him! Also we play 4-2-3-1 in the game against WBA and should Felli go I reckon we should switch it to a 4-3-3 with Barkley, DIAME, and maybe Holtby on loan. if not then IDK but Gibson is too injury prone and Ossie is past it by the looks

Believable3 Unbelievable5

Diame already turned down the toffees

Agree1 Disagree0

Why? We're top 6 and they're. bottom half at least

Yes I know it's not Premier League but we ain't going to bring in Messi!

Believable2 Unbelievable18

I just don't see it.
Unhappy-Camper {Ed025's Note - nor me mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

I used to really like him as a player but he gets himself injured to often by going in for needless challenges

Agree1 Disagree0

He has only just signed for Huddersfield on a permanent deal. We let that vessel sail ourselves. Plus he still hasn't learnt about going into dangerous challenges. Top lad, but found his level!

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Aug 2013 12:42:36
Lets say bale played for everton how much do you think Madrid would get him for of us. I would say about 25 mil.

Believable21 Unbelievable4

£50-60m. There is no way he's worth more than that too. Daniel Levy, no matter what you think of him, is fantastic at raising his prices.

Agree1 Disagree0

If Bale played for us, he'd have already moved to ManUtd for something like the Rodwell fee long before Real Madrid came along and paid ManUtd a Ronaldo fee. :-(
Unhappy-Camper

Agree2 Disagree0

26 Aug 2013 14:24:09
Madrid can have him most over-rated player until the next Spurs Media Darling, remember Darren Anderton!

Agree2 Disagree0

Spurs have super rich investment ofc they can refuse to sell and stand firm, teams know we r skint and will always look to undercut a players value. Everton just need to stand firm and refuse unless the value we place on players is met or transfer requests r put in. Every team will sell their best player if their value is met it business first. I don't care if someone bids for a player only care if we except lower bid then player worth.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Aug 2013 12:19:20
Ed just a quick one r we in talks with anyone or is anything going on that u no of with signings etc? {Ed025's Note - nothing deffo mate..

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Any thoughts about which younger players we might loan out to give them experience playing competitive lower-league football?

Sissioko nobbed us off at the last minute and joined them, don't sign this mercenary. Barry wants CL football so that's him gone. McCarthy I'm not convinced. Sell Felliani and offer 8 mill for Defoe and 12 mill for Obi Mikel and Moses. {Ed025's Note - obi mikel??, are you serious?..

Believable1 Unbelievable14

Barry!! Behave!

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Aug 2013 11:27:16
You must be the only person who wants Mikel

Degs

Agree1 Disagree0

So let me get this straight, sell Fellaini and bring in Mikel? That is weekening the team. I don't understand why fans want to sell him, he's immense, and has been a true professional through all this.

Agree1 Disagree2

It looks like we don't have a choice but to sell, unless billy liar finds some of the sky dosh down the back of his couch. For me keep all our best players.

Agree0 Disagree0

Felli is a good player, but far more suited to Moyes style than to the quick, neat passing of RM. if that is the way we are to go, then would be right to sacrifice him. TBH, I think that is what RM is trying to do with keeping the war of words going.

Agree0 Disagree0

Who remembers when NUFC transferred Andy Cole to ManUtd and KK said it was in best long-term interests of the club? They then brought in Alan Shearer. OK, they didn't win anything, but they were genuine challengers. Who truly thinks that transferring MF would mean Everton getting in the quantity/quality of players needed to become real challengers?
Unhappy-Camper

Agree0 Disagree0

We'd be better off with Obi-Wan Kenobi. Than Mikel.

Agree2 Disagree0

As with Rooney and Lescott though, we can strengthen the squad as a whole if he goes!I don't want him to go and will be gutted if he does as I think because of his size/ ability we won't be able to replace him like for like, but we can get a good centre mid and improve elsewhere! Also, if we got Mikel for CM I for one would be happy. just think he has been over shadowed by others, but there's a reason both UTd and Chelsea wanted him!

Agree0 Disagree0

The original poster must be from the dark side! 8m for Defoe?Dimentia setting in there, And to even consider Mikel borders on the insane.Get real or get treatment.

Wasn't it Moses who led his people to the promised land and parted the Red Sea (aka ManUtd, Gooners, the Darkside, etc.) along the way? Bit too biblical d'yer think?

Hi ed . Because we have not signed anyone dose that mean our club debt will be wiped out with the sky money . {Ed025's Note - no vinny..

Believable0 Unbelievable6

Must be close to been wiped with all sky money ed. {Ed025's Note - with us running at a loss mate, we will always be in debt..

Agree1 Disagree0

If we we're losing 5 mil a year before the new sky money we must be profitible now {Ed025's Note - its an ongoing thing..

Agree0 Disagree0

Our debt is always going to be there. no matter what, we pay well for the best accountants to keep it that way. The real books are held in the British Virgin islands. {Ed025's Note - or in a safety deposit box at lime st.. :)

Agree2 Disagree0

The club operate under three companies ; Everton football club, Goodison park Stadium ltd and Everton investments.
Combined interest over the past 5 years add up to over £35m = £7m per season.

NOT included would be arrangement fees etc. for the likes of the Vibrac loan, and other short term finance that has kept the club afloat.

Yes we'll always be in debt with teary Bill in charge.

This is more a question than a rumour, I have been reading the rumours page for weeks now. Many times the eds are being asked about marque signings coming in and for weeks the eds have been saying yes there is money to spend and yes there will be a couple of big signings near the end of the window. Only yesterday did I read one of the eds saying players will have to be sold first?

Can one of the eds actually confirm what they know, or it is just conjecture on their part?

Roy alblue {Ed025's Note - we do have money roy, but the budget will be dependent on whether someone leaves, if felli was to go, our target will be of a higher calibre..

Believable3 Unbelievable2

By higher calibre you mean an ex-Wigan player?
Mike {Ed025's Note - have a day off mike!..

Agree0 Disagree0

We have little to nothing, i'd say i'm pretty sure of that, were hoping to loan someone at best

Agree0 Disagree0

Unfortunately for me my dads a tottenham fan in london and he told me today that as willian has joined chelsea instead of tottenham then spurs are ready to offer 15 million and holtby for fellaini and it will be offered this week before the windiw closes. What are your thoughts on this ed?? {Ed025's Note - not a bad shout that tony..

Believable14 Unbelievable3

I'd take that in a heart beat. rubbish attitude against Brom, get rid of him. Holtby is a blue too, he'll add a bit of steel to our weak midfield. Great shout. Mark.

Agree0 Disagree1

I'd value Fellaini at, at least 25 mill and as much as I think Holtby could be good he has done nothing so far to justify a 10 mill price tag. i'd want at least 18mill and Holtby personally. Not keen on strengthening Spurs either tbh. They are already 'land of the giants' they really going to buy another big strong midfielder?

Rudd

Agree1 Disagree0

Rubbish attitude?. He played well. Was you at the game?

Agree2 Disagree0

I'd accept that, for sure

Agree0 Disagree0

Felli's heart is not in it anymore and it does'nt take a genius to work that one out. While he is in the first team he is obviously going to try and put a bit of a performance in but the lad wants away and has done for some time. 15 mil and Holtby isn't a bad shout at all. (Wavertree Blue)

Agree0 Disagree0

Whats this fascination for Holtby. He's done absolutely nothing for Tottenham, and is not good enough. Just because he's a blue doesn't mean he would be a good addition David Nugent was supposed to be blue when everyone was demanding we signed him, but he couldn't handle it at the top level. {Ed025's Note - i agree, i think we dodged a bullet not signing holtby..

Agree0 Disagree0

Not for me, i'd rather £22 million up front from the mancs, sign McCarthy and Moses with it.To be fair Holtby may be a decent player but he's unproven in the prem.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nothing wrong with his attitude at West Brom. There are some fans who just want to kick this lad all the time! Chatting ****!
You'll be sorry when he's gone, we've got no other 10+ central midfielder! Neither has most teams outside the champions league sides!
Get a grip!

Dave M

Agree1 Disagree0

Felli wants CL footy, can't see him at Spurs especially with the midfield they've got so he might have to fight it out for a starting spot.

Agree0 Disagree0

I disagree. Holtby was a very good player in Germany, Spurs ruined him. Same as saying Sandro is a bad player, he's not, he just can't get in the team because of Spurs hordeing midfielders. If we got him in, it would be a good signing. What we need in midfield again too, but of creativity.

Agree0 Disagree0

That's a slight contradiction Ed? (Wavertree Blue)

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Aug 2013 15:48:45
why are manc fans saying martinez is stupid for saying what he said about moyes and how its okay for him to raid wigan of players? do they not realize we activated kones release clause something they had the chance to do with fellaini and robles is from athletico not wigan and alcaraz was a free agent, I don't see were we raided wigan? though the way its going I do think fellaini will leave, I think baines will stay but marouane will be at utd for some awful offer like 17 million and a squad player as its kenwright, you know anything on the fellaini baines front ed? or anyone?

Believable10 Unbelievable2

I've tried numerous times to explain the difference baru lad but they don't want to hear it. In one ear and out the other because, presumably, it doesn't suit their agenda or argument.
They can't see moyes for the contemptible, hypocrite he really is.
We know the truth not what we want to hear.

Agree1 Disagree0

25 Aug 2013 15:18:33
Hi Ed, do you know if we have real interest in Moses? I think he would be a cracking addition. How do you see our chances of signing him whether it's a loan or not? {Ed025's Note - we are interested, but are looking for a loan deal joss, with willian coming in our chances have improved..

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Notice Liverpool are after Moses, they always seen to be after the ones we mention.
Bluenose

Agree1 Disagree0

Talk in the papers this morning that the Reds are looking to loan Moses for the season.

Agree1 Disagree0

As usual we take that long to do any sort of deal with other clubs he will end up over the park or somewhere else!

Agree1 Disagree0

We should of had Moses signed on a permanent deal by now.We all know Fellaini is going so why haven't we signed a replacement?.I'm sick of this board dragging its heels. If the RS get him it's the final straw for me!

Everton enquiring about Momo Sissoko from PSG if Felli leaves. Might even be a free transfer, but he wants £70k a week. Gareth Barry doesn't want to come to Everton. Boo frickin' hoo.

Believable3 Unbelievable4

26 Aug 2013 06:12:23
Barry won't come mate because he is on a reported 150k per week, unbelievable wages or what, guessing our probable offer of 70k per week was not enough as he may struggle on a mere 70,000 pounds a week, no loss to us
