It's embarrassing! The only club we have brought in from is Wigan. Now we are looking a McCarthy! I always think it shows how weak the manager is if he can't look further afield. I have no problem in bringing 1 maybe 2 Wigan players in but all of our signings? {Ed025's Note - robles was from athletico..

We have brought 4 players in. One was from Wigan, one from Athletico, one was a free agent and the other is on loan from Barcelona! Yes all 4 from Wigan!

We've only bought one Wigan player!Do try to keep up with the rest of us.Robles came from Atletico Madrid and Alcaraz was a free agent

Well actually three of them played for Wigan. I have no problem with that providing they add value to our squad which is yet to be proved one way or the other,

Kone has been the only Wigan player we've signed. Okay Alcaraz was a free agent, but Joel had a lot of potential before getting injured, I think McCarthy would be a great signing, as long as it is not £15m

If quite easy to see what the poster was saying and he's right that the manager had not looked beyond his old club a club which remember were relegated and two points from two games not exactly the start to inspire

A short memory indeed, has he not brought in one of Barcelona's brightest talents for a song, didn't see him in a Wigan shirt last season and we wouldn't hsve had a hope in hell of getting him under Moyes. Get a grip, we are 2 games in. As and aside, I thought Kone looked a bit sharper when he came on at the weekend.

It would appear that it's only us and Newcastle who've not invested the increased tv money in the squad - think BK owes the fans an explanation - where's the increased money gone?

Please tell me who are these players?
If all we ever do is sell our best players than surely you have some actual evidence to back it up?

The players I can think of;
Rooney (Teenager we sold for up-to 30 million after finishing 17th)
Lescott ( Sold for 24 million and Baines took his place)
Rodwell? (Was a squad player, bright future but nowhere near our best player)
Arteta (Fair enough)

But what do Rooney, Arteta and Lescott have in common?
Rooney and Lescott handed in transfer requests and Arteta pretty much as good as did.

People say we sell our best players as if no one else does but that is football.
United sold Ronaldo, looks like Bale is off, Aresnal's list of best players sold dwarfs ours.

I am not saying kenwright is god. But to blame the realities of modern football solely on him is nonsensical

If we have bid for McCarthy does that fellaini is off? I would prefer him to stay but if he wants out then let him go but I really don't want utd to get there own way again, hopefully another club will get him if he goes! What do you know ed? Mc carty is a top player. strong young and was always first name on team sheet for Robbie at wigan since he was signed from hibs at 18 yrs. don't worry bout him being another wigan player he much better than them, wel all realise though how big a loss big felli will be when he goes. u got to give him respect. he hasn't opened his mouth all summer- same for bainsey unlike others!

Grass isn't always greener though. Hope the big fella stays.

McCarthy is far from crap. Granted he's a jack of all trades and master of none, but will only get better with age. Just because he does nothing spectacular doesn't mean he's crap. If he can impose himself on games a bit more he's got a very bright future. Good investment and great age, sincerely hope we get him.

Yes you're not far wrong there gibbo, but I believe he was suggesting that McCarthy had the talent in his locker to impose himself on games and dominate them more such is his undoubted talent.

Gibbo.I'm Irish and trust me a lot of us here don't think trapatoni knows what he is talking about.don't forget he didn't rate Coleman and wouldn't play him in the euro's.he wouldn't play Gibson either so gibbo told him where to go.mc carthy has a bright future ahead at club level and international level.

Joe Parkinson played for Wigan he did a fine job.

Does the FA Cup count?. that's the big silver thing with handles in case you had forgotten.

Think some people need talking down from the ledge. Wigan had some decent players in a team who beat Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool on recent occasions, something which we have not been able to do in most cases. They out played Man City during the FA cup final with some great displays of teamwork, heart and yes, occasionally, believe it or not - skill. They went down because they were without any of their first choice defenders for the majority of the season, with only inexperienced choices to cover. While Wigan were never particularly amazing, the team going down was not Bobby Martinez's fault, or Kone's or Alcaraz's. Robles wasn't even first choice keeper for most of the season! Give it a rest now, you misery sprayers!

Someone has posted on twitter that they got a lift to Piccadilly station today by Martinez after our U21 game and was told Baines is definitely not leaving and that Moyes has lost his memory very very quickly (prob in reference to Moyes behaviour and recent comments)

No mention of Fellaini but in my opinion I think the club, manager and player are happy for Fellaini to leave as much as they are happy for him to stay. He stays we keep a quality player. He leaves then Martinez brings in his own player(s) . IF he is given the cash to spend!

Papers saying The rubbish are in for Moses and Atletico Madrid in talks with Ajax over Alderweild . Hopefully just agent leaks in order to kick start any interest from us

We should get Fraser Forster when Howard retires, looks a great keeper, Newcastle made a mistake in selling him! Also we play 4-2-3-1 in the game against WBA and should Felli go I reckon we should switch it to a 4-3-3 with Barkley, DIAME, and maybe Holtby on loan. if not then IDK but Gibson is too injury prone and Ossie is past it by the looks

Lets say bale played for everton how much do you think Madrid would get him for of us. I would say about 25 mil.

£50-60m. There is no way he's worth more than that too. Daniel Levy, no matter what you think of him, is fantastic at raising his prices.

If Bale played for us, he'd have already moved to ManUtd for something like the Rodwell fee long before Real Madrid came along and paid ManUtd a Ronaldo fee. :-(

Spurs have super rich investment ofc they can refuse to sell and stand firm, teams know we r skint and will always look to undercut a players value. Everton just need to stand firm and refuse unless the value we place on players is met or transfer requests r put in. Every team will sell their best player if their value is met it business first. I don't care if someone bids for a player only care if we except lower bid then player worth.

So let me get this straight, sell Fellaini and bring in Mikel? That is weekening the team. I don't understand why fans want to sell him, he's immense, and has been a true professional through all this.

It looks like we don't have a choice but to sell, unless billy liar finds some of the sky dosh down the back of his couch. For me keep all our best players.

Felli is a good player, but far more suited to Moyes style than to the quick, neat passing of RM. if that is the way we are to go, then would be right to sacrifice him. TBH, I think that is what RM is trying to do with keeping the war of words going.

Who remembers when NUFC transferred Andy Cole to ManUtd and KK said it was in best long-term interests of the club? They then brought in Alan Shearer. OK, they didn't win anything, but they were genuine challengers. Who truly thinks that transferring MF would mean Everton getting in the quantity/quality of players needed to become real challengers?

As with Rooney and Lescott though, we can strengthen the squad as a whole if he goes!I don't want him to go and will be gutted if he does as I think because of his size/ ability we won't be able to replace him like for like, but we can get a good centre mid and improve elsewhere!Also, if we got Mikel for CM I for one would be happy. just think he has been over shadowed by others, but there's a reason both UTd and Chelsea wanted him!

Our debt is always going to be there. no matter what, we pay well for the best accountants to keep it that way. The real books are held in the British Virgin islands. {Ed025's Note - or in a safety deposit box at lime st.. :)

The club operate under three companies ; Everton football club, Goodison park Stadium ltd and Everton investments.
Combined interest over the past 5 years add up to over £35m = £7m per season.

NOT included would be arrangement fees etc. for the likes of the Vibrac loan, and other short term finance that has kept the club afloat.

Yes we'll always be in debt with teary Bill in charge.

Unfortunately for me my dads a tottenham fan in london and he told me today that as willian has joined chelsea instead of tottenham then spurs are ready to offer 15 million and holtby for fellaini and it will be offered this week before the windiw closes. I'd take that in a heart beat. rubbish attitude against Brom, get rid of him. Holtby is a blue too, he'll add a bit of steel to our weak midfield. Great shout. Mark.

I'd value Fellaini at, at least 25 mill and as much as I think Holtby could be good he has done nothing so far to justify a 10 mill price tag. i'd want at least 18mill and Holtby personally. Not keen on strengthening Spurs either tbh. They are already 'land of the giants' they really going to buy another big strong midfielder?

Felli's heart is not in it anymore and it does'nt take a genius to work that one out. While he is in the first team he is obviously going to try and put a bit of a performance in but the lad wants away and has done for some time. 15 mil and Holtby isn't a bad shout at all. (Wavertree Blue)

Whats this fascination for Holtby. He's done absolutely nothing for Tottenham, and is not good enough. Just because he's a blue doesn't mean he would be a good addition David Nugent was supposed to be blue when everyone was demanding we signed him, but he couldn't handle it at the top level. {Ed025's Note - i agree, i think we dodged a bullet not signing holtby..

Not for me, i'd rather £22 million up front from the mancs, sign McCarthy and Moses with it.To be fair Holtby may be a decent player but he's unproven in the prem.

I disagree. Holtby was a very good player in Germany, Spurs ruined him. Same as saying Sandro is a bad player, he's not, he just can't get in the team because of Spurs hordeing midfielders. If we got him in, it would be a good signing. What we need in midfield again too, but of creativity.

Talk in the papers this morning that the Reds are looking to loan Moses for the season.

As usual we take that long to do any sort of deal with other clubs he will end up over the park or somewhere else!

We should of had Moses signed on a permanent deal by now.We all know Fellaini is going so why haven't we signed a replacement?.I'm sick of this board dragging its heels.If the RS get him it's the final straw for me!
