Use our rumours form to send us everton transfer rumours.

On the one hand, we have some players, e.g. Gibson, who are out injured for what seems ages...then, on the other hand, we have players, e.g Jelavic and Pienaar, whose form has been below par since returning from apparently shorter-term injuries. My questions are: (1) did we get Gibson (and players like Saha in the past) on the cheap because their former clubs knew they were injury prone, slow recoverers, and weren't going to play 30-plus games a season; and (2) do we select players (albeit key ones for us like Jelavic and Pienaar) to play even though they might be carrying ongoing injuries and are never 100% fit and therefore cannot perform (week-in and week-out) like we know they have in the past?

In my view I think they're too far in their respective comfort zones, with no one really able to come in and challenge them and do a better job than them. I know I'd rather start with Pienaar and Jelavic than Gueye and Vic every day of the week. That's why a bigger squad is vital. As for the injuries, it is a concern but maybe Moyes is being overly cautious so as not to lose them again, through recurring injuries, for any longer than is necessary

I take your point, but I think it's just part of life. All players have lulls in form, look at David silva, he had a period where e didn't perform and is just coming back into form now, happens to all footballers. It's unfortunate it's happened for jela and pienaar when we have injuries tho. Also I think their roles have changed a little with mirallas coming in and losing so many midfielders to injury. We aren't going to get world class back up, but who does outside last years top 4 and maybe spurs? Just keep getting behind the lads whatever, it's a long season, and if this is our bad run for the season with 1 loss in our last ten, I'll take that!! Let's get behind the lads, WBA will drop off and we can nick 4th!!

Good point mate.neville, saha, howard and now gibson are all down payments on wayne rooney,or installments whichever way you want to put it,and utd are still paying.some of the board seemingly went beserk by the way the rooney deal went through, its money they wanted and would you blame them?everton at the moment have probably two players worth 20 mill+,thats baines and big felli.so you can bet your bottom dollar that certain board members wont sanction any more business with utd or their cronies if interested is shown in these players, ferguson has been going loopy in the past few years to land baines but to no avail,he'l just have to do with evra and his backup buttner.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the last poster. I very much doubt man united are still paying for Rooney 8YEARS later!if that was the case then berbatov, bebe and owen would be playing at goodison. Maybe the only reason everton have got these players is because there cheap because the owner don't want to spend any money and because fergie likes moyes, he's the only reason everton aren't in league 2

Agree0 Disagree0

Baines is not worth 20 mill closer to £20 he might be good but not that good! He looks good in a average team but when he's in the cl playing against the big boys they'll soon find him out! He's had a good couple of season but at his age and with a run of bad form kenright would be lucky to get 8-10 mill in the summer. Evra should come good again and if he doesn't Fabio will be better than Baines in the next few years fact, so why would united spend 20 mill on Baines? {Ed025's Note - have you taken your medication today mate?...baines not that good???...try hes the best left back in the EPL, and in the top 3 in europe!!, evra is well past his sell by date, and fabio is, for the want of a better word CRAP!!..if utd dont want him..great!!, but dont come on here dissing the guy...now back to your padded cell, theres a good boy.

Typical utd fans ed,aint got a clue.probably a reds supporter that lad before 1992.bob. {Ed025's Note - i think your right bob..

Heard a rumour that jelavic has had a fall out with some of the team, he was getting shouted at by baines and heitinga yesterday aswell, has anyone heard anything?

I saw Baines having a big go at him and someone posted something about him falling out with Mirallas...hopefully I'm making something out of nothing.

I've heard jeleivic and marrillas as fell out and jeleivic said everton has change since he come because hes very greedy, i don't no but this year i rather have marrilas than jeleivic

Grow up these r professional footballers people looking 2 much into nothing we've dropped points so has every team it happens we've been unlucky in games n with injuries jelovic has not started well but still has 5 goals n were still fifth .players have egos n if there arguing because they think they shud b doing better that's good expectations have gone up n that can only be good .to many fans moaning about things we can't change .we should concentrate on making Goodson as noisy n hostile as we can n get behind the team starting with arsenal

I saw when Baines has a go at him, but I also saw when he apologised to him at a free kick................

Baines only had a go at Jelavic, because he did not move to wards him so he could lay of the ball

Agree0 Disagree0

Exactly, Baines was charging forward and had no options available because Jelavic was just standing there. It was football related.

Seriously, people are looking to make mountains out of mole hills. It is a good sign for me, they should be frustrated by the way they are throwing points away.

Heard this aswell couple of weeks ago with mirallas as he wasnt passing enough to him.

In the Sunday express says that united want Baines for 8m + evra. So many reasons this is awful journalism 1 how much does evra get paid and we definatly couldn't afford it 2 he has been captain at united 3 they just bought a left back 4 8 million, really?!
BlueClarkey

Believable5 Unbelievable14

If you're referring to Buttner then I think the fee was closer to £3m and nowhere near £8m.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry reading through that looks like I said buttner 8m what I meant was point 4, 8 million for Baines is highly unlikely

Buttner looks pants at the moment, so Man. u. likely to looking for a new LB. Could be the lure of Champions League football?

One of the tabloids is again saying this morning that Mau Utd are going to try and prise baines away from us in January. The figure they're quoting is a miserly £8m. Let's be honest about this, that sum wouldn't even buy his right foot, never mind his better left foot and the rest of him.

Man Utd are in for Leighton Baines in Jan. 8m plus Evra. Don't believe it myself, but it's a rumour from the Sunday Express
