Clubcall actually admits the dubious nature of this link to Daniel Pranjic, in whom David Moyes is supposedly interested on the basis of having been at a Euro2012 game were he played recently — although the link between Everton and the wing-back pre-date the tournament.
Pranjic, 30, is out of contract after a tough season at Bayern Munich where he was hardly played by coach Jupp Heynckes. The Croatian, who featured in his country's 1-0 defeat to Spain last week, fired a parting shot at Heynckes last week by criticising his substitutions in the Champions League final.

Moyes went to that match and the link may be based purely on that and the fact that Pranjic is looking for a new club, having admitted last week that he had an offer from China.
He's had an offer but hopefully the higher quality of football will attract him to the prem

Hes about 31 wish we could buy someone young for once .... Melbergs another old fail that we would only get like a year out of, it's just a WASTE of MONEY and players and wages when we should be gettin Naismith and pienaar first before we start lookin at anyone else .... Annoys me so much

Agree1 Disagree0

Remember people saying the same Re Distan

Agree1 Disagree0

Naismith is rubbish ! Even for free. That guy pjanic was on the plane away to sign for us in Jan and bayern put a stop to it why? beats me. Think he would be a good addition to the team Sell anichebe 4m get piennar & Pjanic I would be happy

Agree1 Disagree0

Yeah and Naismith has already done his cruciate ligaments twice, this hardly brings much confidence to me about his long term availability.

Svenny

Agree1 Disagree0

Just remember Lescott had serious injuries and he was great for us.
Joe EFC

Agree0 Disagree0

You say you want youth but then say get Pienaar who's 30. Make your mind up will ya.

Dont get me wrong I'd love Peanuts back, but unless Spurs let us do another loan deal (which is unlikely) then we can't afford him as I can see Spurs wanting the £3m back they paid for him.

If they're gonna be losing Modric, Adebayor and possibly Bale then they're gonna wanna keep players like Pienaar unless they receive silly money.

Sad but true!

Dan Gosling's off to Blackburn, a great example of the grass not always greener on the other side.

Behind Blue Eyes

Believable54 Unbelievable6

He's screwed us, now he's screwed newcastle, now blackburn, no doubte picking up nice fees to put his name to a contract

Agree0 Disagree0

He didn't choose to leave us, he left us because the admin didn't renew his contract.

QatariBlue

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually he did choose to leave us, he could have signed a contract but wanted a bigger wage at newcastle

Agree0 Disagree0

It would serve the t..t right

Agree0 Disagree0

Was never goin make it with us the odd big goal apart slowest player ever seen no loss to us ste45

Agree0 Disagree0

The Daily Mail just said that they want him on loan. He might not be getting game time at Newcastle, but he wouldn't have with us. So he's not actually lost that much, and has gained probably a million quid in the process of leaving us. I suppose that was his big pay day.

Agree1 Disagree0

Correct Ste. He was hopeless. Would never have made a name for himself at the Blues. Championship player at best.

Wizard of Osman

Agree1 Disagree1

Thought Gosling was another Michael Branch anyway.
Moyes is right most of the time, players who leave Everton generally do nothing with their careers

Agree1 Disagree0

He ruined his career by being a money grabbing little sod. He was never a blue to begin with but we gave him a chance in the premier league, the people in his ear and the loop hole his agent pointed out was worth only money no football reasoning what so ever to go to the barcodes. That's what gets me about it, the lack of footballing ambition has just made a waste of his career.

Is it looking good on the Naismith scene? Alot of talk about him is related to West Brom
Irish Blue

Believable26 Unbelievable19

Sure that not Whittaker

Agree1 Disagree0

Don't worry why would he go to West Brom ahead of Everton for?

West Brom and Everton are monitoring events with Rangers duo Steven Naismith and Steven Whittaker.

The two international rejected the transfer of their contracts to the newco at the SPL outfit.

They now consider themselves to be free agents.

Believable20 Unbelievable16

Let West Brom them have Whitaker, we only want Naismith.

Agree0 Disagree1

It's a bit like buying re-possessed houses. A bit distasteful preying on the misfortune of others.

pretty sure Naysmith was in everton two on sunday having his boots done, even signed a few autographs as he left. had some work done on the side of his boots couldnt see what it said tho. anybody else hear about this?

Believable20 Unbelievable13

Would have been difficult as he was giving a press conf in Glasgow on Sunday Re his refusal to join newco.

Agree0 Disagree0

Must be driving a bloody batmobile, had interviews in glasgow all day yesterday.

Agree1 Disagree0

I work there and it was Eminem who came in! easy mistake to make though! i forgive you

Agree1 Disagree1

I got his autograph there

Agree1 Disagree0

Why would a pro only have one pair of boots that he would get stitched himself I think Nike would do that for him... Always think about things before believing them

Agree1 Disagree0

I didn't hear about this.. Oh probably because it didn't happen

Agree1 Disagree0

I was there all day and this is total s**te.

We're apparently interested in Werder Bremen defender, Sebastian Boenisch. Can play either right or left back, so ideal cover for Baines and Hibbo.

Believable9 Unbelievable20

I'd love to see a new right back! I'm sorry Hibbo, but we need someone new.

Agree1 Disagree0

The mans a legend he can play r ight back and left back at the same time

I have to get this off my chest. I was really angry with Pienaar for leaving in the manner he did but was prepared to see him come back due to his excellent partnership with Baines. Had he not left and had played from the start of the season we could possibly have been playing in Europe next season. He has recently been attributed with saying that "Moyes would be a great appointment for Spurs" and that once they appoint a new manager "I need to know if xxxx
I will be used by Spurs". As good as he is it seems obvious that he is once again looking out for himself. Then there is the possibility of paying more to get him back than we sold him for despite him being older and being injured.

Popeye (I feel much better now)

Believable18 Unbelievable18

So basically he will only return if Spurs tell him to do one

Agree0 Disagree0

So a professional footballer in the later stages of his career wants to know what his prospective new manager's plans are for him before he makes a decision? What exactly has he done wrong?

Yes I'd like him back, but he's under no obligation to us and if we don't have some sort of back-up plan in place in case he stays at Spurs (for any number of reasons) then only ones at fault are us.

As for "quotes", just ignore them, be they positive or negative. Even if they're recounted verbatim, which they rarely are, they can still be twisted by changing the context in which they were given.

Ultimately if he comes back, great. If not, there's plenty to get wound up at in life without adding a fairly amiable Everton old boy to the list.

Agree0 Disagree0

I can see your point. He was never going to sign a new contract with us before going to Spurs, always after his next move and signing on fee. We got paid, he failed, if we get him back for a decent price and he continues to do a good job then its win win for us.

Man Utd looking at jetro Willems for long term replacement for evra. They see him as a cheaper younger Baines. If they can't get him then they will go for Baines.................

Just heard Brendan Rodgers n the s**te value skertal at £20m they really do baffle me. I don't even find there BS funny anymore it's just stupid.
Cornol Sanders

Believable25 Unbelievable6

Let the buyer decide his value. [AO]

Agree1 Disagree0

Skertel - £20m
Baines - £12m

Logical pricing there, Rodgers!

Agree1 Disagree1

Believe it or not not all teams buy players for about 2 million each

Agree1 Disagree0

If you're stupid enough to pay £20M for Henderson and £35M for carrol, then you'd probably be stupid enough to think Skirtrel was worth £20M too. Maybe we could sell em Victor for around the £30M mark?

Agree0 Disagree0

The second poster is right, the value is only determined by the buying club and how desperate they need said player.

Last season United were desperate for a keeper so got rinsed paying £20 for De Gea...no-one bats an eyelid.

I actually think if he does go it will be for one of Europes 'big' clubs and it will be for something approaching the £20m mark.

Ins:
Pienaar £5m
Naismith free
Luc castingnos (spelling) £3/4m
Outs:
Big vic £6m
Yobo £2m
Looks increasingly likely we are gona get Naismith, bale wants to stay at spurs so could get pienaar and luc castingnos (spelling again) am I dreaming? I would love this to happen and doesn't seem to unrealistic......
Cornol sanders

Believable23 Unbelievable10

Stop it. 6m for Vic will just not happen and Bale also plays centrally so thats not why Spurs may keep Pienaar. The new manager may want to keep him... [AO]
