Any truth, announcement to be made regarding investors this weekend? Some equity fund based in the middle-east something similar to the investors you get in formula 1. {Ed025's Note - im the biggest sceptic in the world...but im hearing there is interest..

Believable15 Unbelievable18

Hi ed its Jc, were has this news been leaked from, because if you have heard then I'm a believer. {Ed025's Note - it was from within the club jc, a friend of BK..

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed now when you say there is intrest how reliable is your source only if you can say it but is it really happening. Please say yes. {Ed001's Note - I only said yesterday to Ed025 to prepare for a tide of questions about a takeover, there is 100% ongoing talks. The question remains how much interest there is in selling for a reasonable price from the rest of the board. That I have to say, seems unlikely. In my opinion, right now there is one of 2 things going on, due to the way the news is being released. Either Kenwright is trying to pressure the rest of the board into selling up, as they seem to have no interest in investing in the club. In my opinion, they only bought in for the new stadium and the hope of making large amounts of money from the Kirkby stadium. Especially the Tescos on the site of Goodison, that would have made one member of your board even more disgustingly rich. Oh yeah, sorry, got distracted then, secondly I think there is a possibility news is being deliberately leaked purely for season ticket sales etc, with no real intent to sell. Certainly it is being leaked far too blatantly, by people who know better, for there not to be some kind of issue, as they should otherwise be held under an NDA.}

Agree0 Disagree0

No way this will happen it never does there will be interest but the asking price will be too high.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed will this realistically happen any time soon? {Ed001's Note - it will take months, they do, even the City takeover, which people assume happened over night, took months. It is just that the prospective owners bought Robinho as a good faith payment while only in the early stage of talks.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok cheers for the info Ed001, thanks.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry but I forgot to say if the club come out and say it publicly like say for instance tv, well then surely there will be murder if it does not go through. So to the first poster were did you hear there will be an announcement this weekend.

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you know who these potential investors are? {Ed001's Note - if that is to me, I am sorry but no, I just know they are outside of Europe to the east. Could be middle east, near east, far east or even Oceania for all I know! When that kind of info comes out, it has either fallen through or a deal is on the verge of happening, usually.}

Agree0 Disagree0

". I think there is a possibility news is being deliberately leaked purely for season ticket sales. "

Oh please Ed001, I along with many others have already got their season ticket, regardless of whether we get bought or not. Rumours of a takeover have no influence whatsover on season ticket sales.

". I think there is a possibility news is being deliberately leaked purely for increased traffic to this site. " {Ed001's Note - if you say so, I would have done so yesterday when I spoke to Ed025 about it, if that was the case. We don't need increased traffic, we have too much to cope with as it is across our sites. Rumours of a takeover make a huge increase on season ticket sales, you are either clueless or a liar. Everton have struggled to sell their season tickets, the next thing we know there is news leaking out of the club that talks are ongoing. Doesn't take much to see why I don't believe there is anything to it.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope so

Agree0 Disagree0

To EFC Whitesocks, the season ticket sales are already up on last season whether we get new owners or not.

Hi folks, i'm down at goodison tomorrow sitting in the directors box a sim in a suite as my dads company has a table in one of the suites ill try and get some information if I can and share, last time I was there I did hear a whisper that the chinese people are intrested in everton something similair to the deal with inter milan, where they build the club a new stadium in return for a large steak in the club don't shhot the guy this is what I heard and reliable been sniffing last 9 months I believe, if I can get any info tomorrow at the fulham game ill share

cheers

Agree0 Disagree0

What am I lying about Ed001, I have bought my season ticket, and I will continue doing so whether we get taken over or not, just like the majority of ST holders do.
As for being clueless, I was expressing an opinion, is that not allowed anymore?

EFCWhitesocks {Ed001's Note - plenty of season ticket holders do not do so, they only buy when they think they have something to gain. Like at every other club. Your opinion is clueless, you really have no idea if you think rumours of a takeover do not affect sales. I don't think I said anywhere you weren't allowed an opinion, merely pointed out that it was based on ignorance of the truth. Every club that has had takeover rumours start, has shown a marked increase in ticket sales, merchandise sales etc. Whether it be a lower league or a Premier League team.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Seems a little too convenient that 'news' has been leaked by one of BK's chums. Hope that's not the case and there is genuine interest but only time will tell. Cue the inevitable repetitive questions. You Ed's must have the patience of a saint.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gents, why are we bitching about Season ticket sales and rumours of a takeover. EFCWhitesocks has is opinion and you Ed001 have yours as far as I am aware there have been no indepth documented studies to determine if "take over talks have a positive or negative effect on season ticket sales at football clubs" so unless I am incorrect then both points of view are just conjecture and therefore as valid or invalid as the other depending on your point of view.

Agree0 Disagree0

The liverpool echo are reporting saying Everton are close to new money

Agree0 Disagree0

Without evidence Ed001, your comments are opinion not fact. If you can statistically prove your point and show a correlation between rumours and sales I will take your opinion as truth. Until then I maintain my opinion that rumours have no influence on ST sales.

EFCWhitesocks {Ed001's Note - perhaps you should go and take a look at the cases that have happened then. Leeds, for instance, gained an instant increase in ticket sales following the appearance of takeover rumours. Liverpool, Villa, Forest, Birmingham, West Ham, even Cardiff prior to the argument over the kit colour change. Fans get excited, they all think they are going to get a Jack Walker/Roman Abramovich/Sheikh Mansour sugar daddy who will pump money in, the moment a takeover rumour starts. They are my worst nightmare, because their site will also end up awash in ludicrous repeat questions, ridiculously over the top rumours and deluded fans who get abusive when you try and keep their feet on the ground.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I am an even bigger sceptic, however, I knows a man who knows a man who ect, but this is the way he tells it. There is a proposal for a debt for equity buy in, they clear all the debts, plus put in working capital, and they get 50% of the club, with an option to buy out bill and crew within the next 12 mounths.

What I heard was that it is something similar to the Maclaren team the money is global but based in the middle east maybe SE asia. Somebody said the advertising around GP is a clue to potential buyers

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed, can I just say if the news is an announcement will be made over the weekend then that would not leave a large window of opportunity to boost season ticket sales. Then again I am just speculating. {Ed025's Note - over the weekend seems a bit early for me mate, lots of things to thrash out in that small amount of time..

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry Ed, I thought that the news conference was a definite part of the rumour. Its hard to interpret some of the posts. A news conference would suggest done deal or something to announce.

Regards, Chris {Ed025's Note - you could be right chris, but these things tend to take time mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

Lay off the few guys there only passing on information what they have and there comments are just as welcome. They keep the site going so just give them abit of slack they do it for nothing.

Eddy

Agree0 Disagree0

Eds, I'm confused reading your responses. Do you think there is genuine interest or is this to boost season ticket sales. If its for season ticket sales why do it after the early bird deadline? {Ed025's Note - for me, season ticket sales are a separate issue, thats made up by conspiracy theorists to discredit the chairman mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said Ed025, my thoughts entirely.

Scott Sinclair

The 24-year-old has started just two league matches for Roberto Mancini’s side since joining the club from Swansea last summer.

Unless the Manchester City boss departs in the summer, Sinclair is set to go out on loan with West Brom among the Premier League clubs showing interest.

Aston Villa and Everton are also in the running for the former Chelsea forward, who earned four caps for Great Britain at the London 2012

You wonder why some clubs buy decent talent and let them rot on the bench.

Agree0 Disagree0

He is a winger not a forward.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont want him, need a top quality striker, we haven't got one at the club

Agree0 Disagree0

'He is a winger not a forward'? Same thing, semantics, my friend.

He's pants. Don't want him

Snippet off the web this morning blues:

DAVID MOYES is ready to fight Roberto Mancini for the £10million capture of Leeds ace Sam Byram.
Manchester City boss Mancini has already earmarked the right-sided player, 19, as a top target.

But the deposed Premier League champions face fierce competition from Everton chief Moyes, who has identified the whizkid as a perfect replacement for Phil Neville.

Believable16 Unbelievable12

Replacement for leighton baines!

Agree0 Disagree0

He's a RB

Agree0 Disagree0

Im a Leeds fan and let me tell you, this guy is a superstar. Hope we don't sell him although if we did, i'd rather he went Everton than City.

Agree0 Disagree0

What was the point in signing Stones then

Agree0 Disagree0

Byram wants to stay at Leeds, BM wants him to stay, gfh want him to stay, Leeds don't need to sell, guess that means he's staying at Leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Apr 2013 21:30:37
Leeds or Everton

Mmmmm let me decide now

Of course he would want to leave Leeds for Everton, anyone with ambition would, no offence to Leeds though but as they say "we are in a different league to you"

Agree, what was the point in signing Stones? Unless Moyes see's him (as I do) as a great centre back in a few years.

COYB!

Agree0 Disagree0

About him wanting to go to Everton for ambition. He certainly has ambition. to get leeds back into PL which he has stated multiple times.

He's not interested in Everton, he will only go if forced like Becchio; I wouldn't want to go to a club who has the odd good season. Fully expect Everton to plummet down to their usual mid table positioning next season.

He's proud to be playing for Leeds, we need to keep hold of our youth like him. {Ed025's Note - how very dare you!...everton are a massive club, with a proud history, while leeds were once a decent side, they now languish in mid table championship obscurity, and have very little chance of improvement!...you are now regarded along the same lines as bristol city and barnsley(no disrespect to them), and fighting relegation to league one is your main objective...while we my friend are fighting for champions league places, know your place!!, and show some respect to teams who are far superior to yours..

Agree0 Disagree0

Very little chance of improvement? I have to disagree. Byram came from our youth system, we have several other youth players who are now on professional contracts. If we can keep hold of youth such as Byram and expose new talent to exciting football on the floor we have quite good potential to improve. It may be 2-3 years yet but if we can hang on to people like Byram who want to wear the shirt we will hopefully be back in PL.

We have to see the state of our transfers in summer but I expect Byram to stay.
