Just read this. :

Barclays English Premier League club, Wigan Athletic are preparing a bid for £6 million-rated Everton striker, Victor Anichebe as they grow increasingly resigned to losing Victor Moses.

European champions, Chelsea have made no secret of their desire to secure the services of Moses and Wigan have now intensified their search for a potential replacement.

The Latics are now eyeing up Anichebe, who has struggled to establish himself at Goodison Park since breaking into the first team in 2006 as an 18-year-old.

Wigan chiefs are now planning for life after Moses, who has attracted strong interest from Chelsea.

Wigan chairman, Dave Whelan, had revealed last week that he had rejected an “absolutely stupid” offer for Moses from Chelsea of “a lot less than £4 million.”

The Champions League holders are expected to return with an improved offer for Moses, who has only a year remaining on his contract, of around £6 million.

Wigan, who are holding out for £10 million for the 21-year-old, want Moses to sign improved terms at the club but have been told by the player’s camp that he wants to leave.

Anichebe is regarded by the northwest club to have the pace, power and potential to be nurtured into a replacement for his fellow Nigerian international.

Manager Roberto Martinez has been told by Whelan he can spend the money generated from transfers this summer and there is a belief at Wigan that Everton will be willing to offload Anichebe if they receive an offer of around £6 million.

Agree0 Disagree0

6 million!!!!!!!! I will drive him down to Wigan myself and kick him into there training ground!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it would feel positively criminal to receive 6 million for big vic! oh what the hell! is martinez blind or stupid or both...who cares bye vic!

Agree0 Disagree0

If they are offering 6 million we should hold out for 12

Agree0 Disagree1

For 6 million I'll drive him myself!.

Agree1 Disagree0

6mil for vic? Would be happy with 2mil. 2dog blue

Agree1 Disagree0

He read it off

Agree0 Disagree0

Is it april fools day??? b.t.a.p

Agree1 Disagree0

I would accept a snickers and a pack of sweet chill sensations for him.

Agree0 Disagree1

I'd take 3!

Agree0 Disagree1

I know we don't rate him at all, but given regular action at Wigan Anichebe could do well for himself and the club. 6 million is more than I expected but wow what we could do with that! If this and the Yobo deal go through we'll have 8!

Steve EFC {Ed025's Note - that would be good ste..

Agree1 Disagree1

[AO] I would accept 2m but not say no to 6m. Beside the 6m the rumour is believable.

Agree0 Disagree0

No onne would pay 6 mil for him just a daft nonsense

Agree1 Disagree0

6mil? He would cost more than Jelavic and Pienaar. HAHA, surely that price has to be made up (not that I am complaining)

Agree1 Disagree1

Given the right team this lad could be fantastic - he's been unlucky at everton with injuries and not getting a regular run out - but at a team like wigan he could be excellent - he's got bags of pace and ability - just needs the right team - in 2 years time we'll be surprised at how well he's done - Moyes sees his ability in training and knows what he can do - he's been a good servant at everton but needs to put himself first now and get a main strikers role somewhere

Agree1 Disagree1

He's a young international player, 6m has to be the going rate.. Would cut Chelsea out of the equation and ask for a straight swap cos we could do with a winger cum striker.

Agree1 Disagree0

He accidentally added the "m" that wasn't there right? It's really a 6 bid with a bag of chips if he scores 1?

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont want martinez any were near everton if he rates anichebi 6 mil willo

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd drive him there for six pound

Agree1 Disagree0

Drive him- id give the useless lump a piggyback I'd even go the long way round

Agree1 Disagree0

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree0 Disagree1

You sure it's not Naismith?he's said no to the newco agreement and is a free agent.

Agree1 Disagree0

Yes it's their keeper. And as for being Jocklands number 1,that means he's average at best

Agree0 Disagree0

Since when has Wikipedia been a reliable source?

Agree1 Disagree0

Oh no, not wikipedia! Must be true then.

Liverpool were interested in him, or should I say Dogleash was interested, don't know if Rodgers is interested.

Agree1 Disagree0

Sorry for so many posts, but quite a lot is coming out today. Reports also strongly suggesting Everton and Fenerbahce have reached an agreement after an improved 2 million pound bid was recieved from the Turkish club. Naismith is now a free so I assume a Pienaar deal is in the works with that money.

Steve EFC

Believable25 Unbelievable7

Is it just me or did rooney look like he was still on holiday have euros banned england from tackling or close marking there star player should have been man marked

Agree1 Disagree0

Pienaar for 2M? [AO]

Agree1 Disagree0

No no, I mean the money from this sale will go towards the Pienaar fee, not cover it. Surely we must have 2-3 million somewhere.

Inter wont loan him to a club outside Italy apparently.

Agree0 Disagree0

What about pienaar?

Agree0 Disagree0

The money from Yobo is not enough to secure Pienaar but yes, what about him? Barca gets Alba, MU gets Baines and we get Pienaar for that money. We have to wait for the Euros ending and also the holiday.

Naismith will be here by friday blues, now a free agent says SSN

Degsybluenose

Believable16 Unbelievable13

Do you think it'll be done soon Ed?

ToffeeTony {Ed024's Note - Very soon

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers plan to sue any club who try and sign one of 'their' players, Knowing our luck we would be fined millions, hit with an embargo and have points deducted for signing him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers can't do nothing about it, its all in TUPE Regulations, defo no worries there.

EFCwhitesocks

Agree0 Disagree0

If they sued us it would only be for compensation at an approximate amount that a transfer fee would be - which we were going to pay anyway.

Agree1 Disagree1

They can try but if they don't have a contract with the newco, surely there's nothing they can do to stop the players signing for another club. Could Naismith be an Everton Player by Friday as Degsy says Ed? {Ed025's Note - i suppose its possible..

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you sure we were always going to pay a fee for Naismith or just showed interest because Moyes knew this couldmof happened and we would get him for free, I am so happy Jelavic came in January now imagine he never.

man u have now lost interest in baines as they are now after spanish left back Jordi Alba. Also fellaini will leave the club if we do not get european football at the end of this year.

Believable14 Unbelievable9

Barcelona are going to buy him and I am sure if not them Real Madrid definitely not Man Utd.

Agree0 Disagree0

[AO] Hope Barca gets Alba, and we sell Baines to MU freeing up money for Pienaar and young left back with a lot potential. But would be sad to see Baines go but I believe in Moyes - but not his attacking football ;-)

Gareth bale is staying at spurs, so that could fuel a pienaar return. Also man Utd set to make a bid when England exit the euros everton demanding £20 million... Also Moyes believes Baines has been a good servant for everton and moving him on will help him with England and champions league. I don't think he will leave though because he will be second string to evra and won't be getting first team football. I believe Baines will be wearing the Nike kit of everton not Utd next season....................

The Landon Donavon rumours continue. Phil Neville now stating that he tries to talk Landon into signing for us every time they speak. Landon says he loves Everton and on his Twitter page states he is an Evertonian on the front page. No mention of LA Galaxy. There is news on an American web-site saying Landon could force the issue by handing in a transfer request but I don't think that's his way. After all he has been there some time now. Landon has also been quoted as saying he will return one day. Even if that has to be as a supporter. There is also an article saying they may try to extend his loan spell. All these quotes and rumours tell me that behind the scenes everyone except LA Galaxy want him to move. I guess if he does it will be with 15 mins to go at the end of the window. Derek Pulford

Believable23 Unbelievable2

Let's hope he has realised Everton is his last crack at doing something with his career in a big league at a big club.

If a player thinks he can use us like a toy, then he can think again, we dont want you Landon

Luc Castaignous, of Inter Milan, is a creative little player who can play out wide as well as in a more attacking position and has bags of potential. Twitter reporters BackPage and a West Ham insider are claiming the deal for West Ham to sign Castaignous has NOT been hijacked by Everton. However Sky Italia is reporting we are to sign the Inter prospect and I have heard we even put in a bid for him on Friday afternoon. I hope we get him, right now I'm seeing the West Ham denials as just some more promoted team pointless show boating. We'll have to wait and see.

Steve EFC

Believable11 Unbelievable16
