Ok just to clear few things up, first of all Bernard rumours are made up 100%, now onto yarmolenko, I have some connections in East European football due to my wife being Lithuanian her brother lives there but spends a lot of time working between there and Ukraine and is a massive football fan and loves the prem league, so I asked him 2 days ago to find out if there is any news if we are interested and how much is just rumour.
He told me that although he is not sure if a deal was done he did say that it is massive story there at moment the biggest sports story over there he did a few translations for me has to what have been said and one of the big ones was when Yarmolenko was interviewed after the match yesterday and reporter said to him now what is happening with talk of a big move to premier league England with Everton "he smiled and said I need to go now" basically avoiding the question,
Now I'm not saying he will come but my brother in law said it seems like a deal is being done and the player wants the move. Please don't shoot me down if this does not happen but thought I would give my fellow blue boys a bit of an insight rather than just UK paper talk

Good stuff! Just to add to this: Viktor Vatsko, a well respected journalist/commentator in Ukraine, says that Bernard won't happen, its just a way of trying to pressure Kiev in to giving a quick answer; big rivalry between Kiev and Shakthar apparently, both owners want to prove that their players are good enough for the big time (Costa to Bayern). Also said that €25 is a lot to turn down for a Ukranian player. Just passing on some info and what I've made of it!

The match happened yesterday so how could he tell you all that 2 days ago?

Agree1 Disagree0

24 Aug 2015 07:38:06
Seems to me that yet again Everton are being taken for a ride by negotiators that are in a different league (ala Levy Spuds). We are going to end up paying 9 mill for Lennon or our illustrious Manager will come out with 'I am very excited to see the progression of McGeady'. Currently 7th in the League, the Bill/RM game plan for Evertons mini Prem competition (3rd tier) is coming together.

I asked him to find out a couple days ago he got back to me yesterday evening, any more details do I need to provide an alibi for where I was yesterday or you up to speed yet

24 Aug 2015 10:54:27
Come on Dunc, these Kiev people are a law unto themselves. They have messed around other teams when they have activated his get out clause, can't blame either RM or BK for that really. Levy always plays hard ball when selling his players but this time he will lose out on what he actually wants for Lennon. I think some team, possibly us, will buy AL in the final hours of transfer deadline day for less than the 9m you say. Even Levy will take a lesser fee rather than lose a player for nothing next summer

24 Aug 2015 11:03:32
great research Trueblue and Hugo, thx for the update, I think its going to happen, we are just putting some pressuer on them as they have probably asked for 67 million or something stupid

Fair enough spudv, just an opinion mate.

Agree1 Disagree0

24 Aug 2015 11:46:38
No worries Dunc, wasn't having a pop just trying to gee you up on a Monday morning :) Got a feeling this could be a decent week for us all, few deals could be sorted in the next couple of days. Have faith!

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Aug 2015 12:29:29
Not getting into anything with spudv and dunc but I think if we can get Lennon for anything less than 6m it would be good business. Levy is a bluffer and will get every penny out of you for his players if enough interest is shown. I'd call his bluff if he was looking for any more than 6. Team improved a lot last season after Lennon arrived

Yarmolenko now linked with Roma & man u.
Thought it was 2 good to be true.
Southall sez if Everton consider themselves a big club stones has to stay otherwise it sends a clear message out were happy to finish mid table.
Stones has undoubted potential there 4 all to see but still learning & developing.
Have to say thought stones couid have put a tackle in instead of retreating backing off & Howard also caught napping for city's opener.
Thought stones was also @ fault for Watford's 2nd goal when he was left on his backside.

24 Aug 2015 10:19:35
Howie mate, I never said it was AY on that flight because my friend was only able to give limited information and could not elaborate any further than the information I passed on.
I passed the information on in good faith hoping myself that it was going to be AY on the flight.
I'm still none the wiser if it was or wasn't AY but if I get any more info I'll pass it on.
Cheers.

24 Aug 2015 12:25:52
If only another 20,000 fans had that attitude bretto Goodison would be a place travelling teams would hate to visit. Good support really can spur a team on rather than playing into the travelling teams hands and booing at our own players. God knows I love when Everton travel to another ground and the home team boo their own team. Funny enough its very rare when I see other teams do it.

23 Aug 2015 21:03:26
We knew that is knew that this guy had been touted all over the place, we also knew what a helmet head his chairman is and yet normal naivety of our brilliant negotiating Team still held sway. RM may have the gob but his ability is in the Prem bottom half and in the Championship is really where his obvious talent needs to be.

23 Aug 2015 19:00:51
Well then what are we waiting for move on as I said before if we have that much to spend on one player I'm sure we will get a quality player somewhere screw them Ukraines.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Aug 2015 19:16:07
I do get a little bit confused as to why the Kiev are even an issue in this, surely if you have met a release clause then surely there is nothing they can do and you are then free to discuss terms with the player regardless. Is it because we are trying installments and the clause is for a lump sum ed?. If only this was football manager he'd have been signed in 30 seconds with a release clause!

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - unfortunately gibbo its not, it may not be dead yet though as it could be a ruse to speed things up mate..

23 Aug 2015 19:26:47
{note:- I wish this was football manager.}

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Aug 2015 19:28:28
I'll say it again, he hasn't got a release clause, so there is nothing to be released from. This is all down to the Kiev President on whether he will allow him to leave or not. He wants to come, we want to buy, but their president who is a law unto himself, is playing silly buggers. The Bernard rumour is just that, a rumour.

Believable9 Unbelievable8

23 Aug 2015 17:50:19
hahaha. what a good 'best friend' you are if he tells you a confidential secret and you come and blab it onto a well used rumour site. On top of that, Javi's actual position these days is on the medical table. When he is fit, he prefers to play CDM which we don't need. Although he can play CB, we should not be spending, what will be a decent amount, to play someone in is second position.

Agree4 Disagree2

23 Aug 2015 18:15:45
I like it LannyToffee. Although I kinda agree with the Barry statement. Thought I'd never say it but he looked slightly sloppy today. 3 games in a row and he seems to be showing his age. Still I think he'll do a good job for us over the season if he's used wisely and sparingly. Besic deserves his chance in my opinion.

Agree4 Disagree1

23 Aug 2015 19:14:30
NBTB barrys awful an was all last season aswell. Needs replacing.

Agree1 Disagree0

23 Aug 2015 19:38:21
Fair enough Biggeorgiep. I wouldn't say he was awful but he definitely wasn't good last season. That's why I say Besic deserves his chance. Imho he should of got more time last season. Barry was over used last season. Need as much competition as we can for every position. If Barry was rested and fresh going into games he would be more effective and keep the other players in CM on their toes.

Agree1 Disagree0

23 Aug 2015 21:34:39
Imo guys the two players who were totally ineffective against City were McCarthy and Barkley.
McCarthy was responsible for both goals, losing possession for the first, although Howard should have saved at his near post from Kolorov on the bye line, and ball watching instead of tracking Nasri's run into the area for the second. He is like a headless chicken and wastes so much energy chasing lost causes.
Barkley is almost a luxury and doesn't work hard enough against a team of city's ability where you need every one to put in a shift.
I would have moved Cleverley to replace McCarthy and brought on Mirallas to add pace and skill wide right.
Also, from a tactical viewpoint Besic should have been included ,probably in place of Barkley to man mark Silva.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Aug 2015 15:54:37
.you can bet your bottom dollar that Terry got sent off on purpose on orders of Mourinhio knowing an impending 3 game ban would make Abramovich dig that bit deeper to offer a bid large enough to attract John Stones away.just remember Jose will do anything to get his man.I just hope the Everton board are strong enough to resist!

{Ed025's Note - nice to hear from you pod..

23 Aug 2015 19:48:21
Don't come much dafter than this. Never saw Terry as the kind of guy who would get sent off just to help get his replacement in. That said, the consequences are likely that Chelsea will put a bigger bid as the last two games have shown Terry as vulnerable to pace and no longer able to rely upon his positional play.

silly post not sure why anyone ever expected us to do all our buisness early we never do always last minute for wotever reason but i'm sure we will bring in the three promised unlike a lot on here tbh so far this window bin amazing a lot of work done behind the scenes in this team together could quite easily cash in on one or two for huge money but we have not some even signing new contracts keeping these players from joining bigger clubs i'm sure involed a lot of hard work also sure that if one target fails we again will already have back up plans in place

A player's contract should be binding if committed to long term. Should be managers call if he wants to sell within that time not the players decision.

Agree2 Disagree0

23 Aug 2015 09:59:54
Clubs can force them to stay it's having the balls to do it remember when Suarez wanted to go to arsenal and even branded Rodgers a liar! They said your tough shit your staying and he was the best player in Europe that season (as much as it hurts me to admit it)

Agree2 Disagree0

23 Aug 2015 10:23:00
Kenwright and Martinez took a lot of stick lately, the majority of it justified. However, they have stood firm over the Stones situation first saying he's not for sale and then by saying even if he hands in transfer request he's not for sale. Yet still they get stick over it.

Why can't we force him to stay, he's under a lengthy contract with us. Maybe it's about time clubs start standing up to players (more so their agents) by saying you have a legal binding contract with us and we don't want to sell you. Clubs need to take some of the power back at the end of the day their paying the wages not the agent.

This isn't a go at Stones as we don't know his stance on the matter and he has carried on in a professional manner for us, unlike others in the past.

I really hope we keep hold of him to one as he's a great player and future player and two because it's about time clubs stand firm against the so called bigger clubs (I call them richer not bigger) and stop them cherry picking the youngest we develop and give a chance on the big stage.

the more I think about it the less I feel we don't need yarmolenko

with Delboy, Barkley, Mirallas and Lukaku are all flare players and should be getting regular game time

yarmolenko just might make it too many cooks and all that

I'd take someone like Jamie Vardy instead

Agree0 Disagree5

23 Aug 2015 06:36:42
BackoftheNet. You can never have too many quality players mate, for me it is about what positions they play in and not whether they are flair players or not. Yarmolenko would be the number 10 that we need, we have no one who can play there, Naismith isn't a number 10, Osman, Barkley and Cleverley have been tried in that role (Clevs with other clubs) and none of them are good enough at what a number 10 needs. He would also give us another option as a winger, Mirallas, Deulofeu and Pienaar are all right footed, all very predictable for me. Mirallas will look for an inside pass if he is on the right and will cut inside if he is on the left. Pienaar is too slow but offers a lot of creativity but can only cut inside, he cannot play on the right and cannot run on the outside and whip a ball in. Deulofeu will always try and beat his man and put a cross in or run through the middle and take everyone on. Yarmolenko has a rocket shot, offers us the same creativity as Pienaar, the same pace as Mirallas (not as quick as Doofy Loofy) and can take people on like Deulofeu. He would be the number 10 Martinez wants and the number 10 that we need. Not to mention added depth out wide, McGeady will hopefully never play for us again, take him away hopefully, Pienaar is always injured and neither Mirallas or Deulofeu are reliable for a full season due to their hamstrings. Over a full season each of them will get injured at different points, Pienaar is never fit so we need the extra man there. It's also worth noting he also gives us another optiom for corners and free kicks. I understand where you are coming from mate but I hope what I have said will make signing him a but more appealing to you mate, if not then fair enough. Would be brilliant business for me.

Yarmolenko can play up top on his tod if needed as well, great goal per game ratio (admittedly in a weak league) but he tore us a new one when we played Kiev last season. He's just class. "New Everton player Andriy Yarmolenko" sounds good don't it 😀

He's not a genuine #10 he's a winger. Sure, he can play there but if we're buying a square peg for a round hole then we already have a load of them for the #10 role.
I do think we need a left winger but I'm on the fence with this guy. I have fears, perhaps unfounded ones, of Billy II.

Pod, I think something what seperates him from Bily is that Yarmolenko has pace and has shown many times what he can do against English teams but again, I do understand your concerns, they need to be out out there and it is a genuine worry.
