Absolute shambles so far, no plan b, we are being harassed and bullied and in fact should be down to 10 men, terrible challenge from Barkley, Naismith is absolutely useless and Jelamiss should have stayed on the team bus, then again i'm supprised he didn't miss that as well!

Shameful Supporter you are kurajan.

Always keep your moans to a minimum until the game is over. First half was generally rubbish for both teams but we always had the better play in the second and looked the most likely to come away with the result. COYFB! (Wavertree Blue)

Shameful supporter? Why because I said it as it was? Because u didn't watch the first half with blue tinted glasses? And you obviously didn't read my post when the game was finished ( which is on the banter page)

First half we were shocking, obviously Bobby agreed that Naisey and Jellyman where shocking too cause he hauled them off! And as for Barklrys tackle, it was horrendous and over the top, if it was on one of our players we'd by in uproar!

Kurajan

Agree1 Disagree6

He should have waited until the match was over before stating his opinion, but he does make some good points. I am very, very happy with the result and second half performance, but both Jelavic and Naismith simply are not good enough to be paid for what they do, never mind be in the top flight. We will not see the best of Jelavic unless we completely change our system again and Naismith is just a farce. Ross' tackle wasn't great, but there was no malice. So far, our plan A has been lovely, but I think we do need to think up a plan B. That was a big contributing factor to wigan's relegation; they refused to change style against different clubs. All that aside though, great game and I'm glad plan A paid off in the end.

Agree3 Disagree3

Honestly, I don't think Barkly meant that takle

That was not a bad tackle from Barkley I thought the tv summariser called it fairly. Barkley if anything was trying to avoid the defender who was already on the floor, you could see there was little weight behind it.
In fact the two players were talking and smiling together like best mates leaving the pitch at halftime.

Agree7 Disagree0

No malice in the tackle and that's what the referee saw and every player and all the fans.

Did you note that the referee wasnt surrounded by players complaining.

Agree3 Disagree0

You're not my kind of supporter Kurajan.
You moan too much to be called a proper Evertonian.

Football is a game 90mins not 45 I though we were the better team in first half anyway under moyes we would have lost

Agree2 Disagree0

Absolute shambles in the first half maybe but we won and that's the main thing how about being positive we are still going through a transition stage we can only get better and pickin up points right now where we could of lost games i'm happy to say we are unbeaten from a real scouse blue djmarkymark is blue through and through

Pleased we won obviously but we could have also lost that match. 62% possesion again but chaotic and could have lost! Agree need to have a plan B and be able to adapt to the changing tactics.

Agree0 Disagree2

People going on about having no plan B. Wasn't plan B take off jelly and Naismith and replace them with lukaku and maccarthy at half time? point being lukaku gets us 3 points.Give Martinez credit for changing it at half time knowing it wasn't working.Under moyes he wouldn't of made them changes till at least 10 mins before the end of the game, when we would probably be chasing the game

Agree2 Disagree0

Shambles is a little harsh, I do feel that we are hard to watch at times . But over all I feel like it was a good performance . It's still early days let's see what the next few months have in store . It could be a lot worse . We could support man utd!.

Agree2 Disagree0

Well if we play that badly with no plan b and win then i'm all for no plan B. Okay it was not pretty and we were being out played at times in the 1st half, but how critical do you want to be? When the fat lady started singing it was a beautilful song to hear. If this is a work in progress then what's it going to be like when the side has settled into the RM way of playing? I don't think anyone should knock this start to the season its actually better than last season and we weren't slagging off DM at the time

Played 4 Won 2 Drawn 2 is not a bad return. This could be our season lads.

Fair point there

Agree1 Disagree0

What do you mean no plan B we were loosing at half time made chances and won the game sounds like a good plan b to me

Agree4 Disagree0

How the hell can you say no plan b when we are playing rubbish then RM makes changes and we win.
With regards to jelavic I think we need to get rid to be honest but naismith offers more tracking back etc against the bigger teams like chelsea when we won't have as much of the possesion

It's actually played 5 won 2 drawn 3.

i won't sleep tonight knowing that you're not a proper evertonian unless you sit there quietly at the match arms folded never saying anything bad about anything yep our team is perfection, we are all entitled to a moan and karujan has a point jelavic is done and should be third choice, naismith has a reason for not performing well with his injury and barkleys tackle I disagree on but i'm not an everton fan if I say one bad thing am I so may aswell support everton chile now or are they perfect aswell?

That's good and can you please leave a name for us to make it easier to converse with you.

Why is everyone including you Ed, thinking Baines is leaving in January, there is nothing to support these thoughts. The way I see it is if Moyes and Manchester United would not pay the asking price all summer then there is nothing to suggest they will pay the same price in January. The only way I see Baines leaving in Jan is by him, putting in a transfer request, again nothing to suggest he is going to do that either. I really believe Baines will be with Everton till the summer at the very least. Hope I am right. PS I don't think Stubbs made those comments that Baines wanted to join United in the summer, as if he did I think he would be reprimmanded by the club, speaking of first team players to the media about there futures I am sure there is a policy at the club which forbids employees from making such comments. {Ed025's Note - i was told that he would like to move mate, but things change, and i really hope he stays..

Believable5 Unbelievable5

Everything is falling into place for a move.
1. Moyes wants him and is now under increasing pressure to make signings.
2. Baines himself has stated that he wants to move.
3. There is no sign of Baines signing a new contract with us and therefore will only have one more year left after this season.
I suspect he will go and hopefully we will get Shaw from Southampton. Although we will have to spend all the money on him.
Degsypulford

Agree1 Disagree1

Well said, I totally agree. The only indication that there has been that Baines wants to leave is from the most unreliable source possible i.e. the press

Agree2 Disagree0

Degsy, when has he stated he wants to leave? And if we could afford him with the money from the Baines sale, Utd would just go straight for him.

'Well said, I totally agree. The only indication that there has been that Baines wants to leave is from the most unreliable source possible i.e. the press'?

Speaking at a Football Writers' Association event at the Museum of Liverpool last week, Stubbs, now the club's Under-21s manager, said: "The way the transfer deadline goes, everyone looks at it and it got to a stage where we knew the Gareth Bale thing was going to happen. That was the big one, underlying from that there wasn't really an awful lot going on.

"Probably come seven o'clock on the night [2 September] at Everton, the word from the training ground was that no-one was going to go. Fellaini was staying. Bainesy was never really an option, the club had dug its heels in. Bainesy had obviously said he'd like to go.

"And then come nine o'clock suddenly we started to get linked with [Romelu] Lukaku and then the Fellaini thing was starting with negotiations with United. By the time it had finished we'd bought three in and they are great additions to the squad."
Right, just the press then?

wonder if he would still like to move in January if we are in the top 4 and united aren't? CraigHuytonBlue

Martinez has brushed off Stubbs' comments, however, adding: "Everyone is entitled to an opinion and can say what they feel and I think that was a private comment, not an official statement.

"You could ask any player in the squad if they would like to play in the Champions League, and everyone could have a private comment about that.

"Alan Stubbs is an employee of Everton but he's an ex-player as well and sometimes people can get mixed up about his views as an ex-player and they're not necessarily the same as the Under-21s manager.

"Sometimes private thoughts or conversations can be taken out of context. If a club matches a player's valuation, a player needs to make a decision, but that was never the case.

A report on the tv says barkley recently spoke to gerrard while on england duty.

"I was a bit star-struck when I first joined up but Steven was good to me when I was away. I sat next to him on the coach and he gave me loads of advice.

"He said the big hitters are going to be looking at me but the main thing for me is to stay with the club I'm at, the team I support and love, which is Everton."

Believable11 Unbelievable3

Whether you are a blue or not, you have to admire Steven Gerrards loyalty to his club, and the fact he is instilling in Ross to be loyal to the club he loves, speaks well of the man. The full article/interview was in the Independant I believe. It bodes well that Ross really loves Everton and won't do a Rooney ( I honestly believe Rooney wants to return, this will happen sooner than people think)

Agree3 Disagree0

That's because when Gerrard hangs up his boots, he will be back at Goodison Park supporting the Blues, his boyhood club.

Andy The Chef.

Agree1 Disagree1

Is this the same loyal gerrard that handed in a transfer request after Liverpoo won the champs league? Still remember watching the fans burning his shirt on sky!

Agree2 Disagree1

Im not a fan of Gerrard but if Ross takes his advice and stays at Everton, thanks Gerrard
