Heard nasty rumours bout Ryan Shawcross been linked to us, not that desperate are we, more red cards than fellani, others better out there

Believable5 Unbelievable13

I like him. Not sure I'd go out my way to sign him like but I think he's a good centre half.

Gives away too many fouls, clumsy, positional sense is poor, slow and can't play, no tar

Agree2 Disagree0

Can't really see him fitting into Bobbies system

Agree0 Disagree0

Good solid defender, but not so hot with ball at his feet.

Agree1 Disagree1

We have Duffy anyway.Similar players.

Agree2 Disagree0

Shawcross has cleaned his game up a lot. heard that both Chelsea and arsenal are closing in on him

Arsenal think mertesacker is good, they can have shawcross then

Agree0 Disagree0

As someone else said, he's a solid defender, who can't play football, but we've got Duffy if we want that.

A newspaper says we're lining up a bid for Charlie Austin. Really? Can't see this myself as the r's would want too much considering our reported budget. Don't rate him highly enough either. Views?

Believable2 Unbelievable12

Not for me either mate. Not good enough to push us on imo

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't know how much they could demand if I'm right in thinking they are in a little financial trouble?

Agree2 Disagree0

No please we can do better.

Agree0 Disagree0

Im told were bidding 6 million dollars for steve austin.

Ed, what ya reckon to these two jacks we keep getting mentioned with-colback and rodwell? Not even sure we could afford the latter back but didn't rate before the move tbh-all potential. Colback could be interesting back up but surely we should be looking at 1st team quality before back up?

Believable1 Unbelievable10

{Ed025's Note - both very average for me CP, colback on a free seems the better option, but I would not expect either to first team regulars mate..

Colbacks a tenacious and reliable kid who still has his best years ahead of him, rodwell, well, hopefully he will follow our dan to bournemouth

Agree0 Disagree1

I'd take Colback on a free in a heart beat I think he would fit in fantastically here and I'll admit I'd be a bit excited if he came. Rodwell? No thanks never fit and not what we're looking for we can't afford players who won't be able to pull their weight

Agree0 Disagree0

As far as jack rodwell is concerned. he is 23. ask yourself what ross barkley will be like in 3 years time. I guess world class.the rodwell ship has sailed.

Agree0 Disagree0

Best bit of business we done that. Thinking about it we've shafted City and United for a right few quid haven't we. Rodwell, Lescott and Felliani over 50 million 2 been released and one been found out to not be as good as he thought he would (smirks)

Colback would be a great acquisition . looks good enough on the ball to play centre mid and has the pace and tenacity for fullback. Perhaps a squad player to start with . but Jagielka was signed as a midfielder/right back and look what's happened . regular England centre half and captain.

Griezman & Iniago Martinez from Sociedad? Any truth in this story ed? Seen it on a few jarg sites but once again could just be lazy journalism. Liking the sound of Defour and Cuenca though. But Carlos Bacca should be our number one priority as I can't see Kone coming back and banging 20 in next season.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

{Ed025's Note - there is a lot of poor journalism going around at the moment jay, and we can expect a lot more this summer mate..

Love to get them two they would be quality additions who would push us on to the top 4 if we also get good striker get your book out bill

Agree0 Disagree0

Griezmann is WAY out of our price range and prestige. Iñigo Martinez is alright but no better and commits far too many fouls. Cuenca really isn't worth getting excited about. Picture Deulofeu, but slower. If he came from any other academy in the world, he'd be just another flop. Detour I've always like the look of, but we've flirted with him for years (since we got Fellaini), and nothing's come of it, so I don't think we'll ever finally move for him. Wouldn't mind if we did, though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Read that rumour and that Big Dunc was there watching them for their game against Villareal but they're just guessing why he was there.
My guess would have been that Bobby wants him to watch Spanish footie to get more used to his way of playing, didn't have him down as a scout tbh.
