In an article which is dated tomorrow it claims that after Roque Santa Cruz signalled his intent to stay in the North West, David Moyes will make a £3m move to sign him.
Joe EFC

Believable11 Unbelievable25

So not only has he not yet signalled his intetion and moyes has not moved to sign him, the article that will claim that these things will happen, won't even be written until tommorow?

evertonroar.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think moyes only as one more player on his mind and thats peanuts.but saying that we allways get a shock the last min when they off load one of are main players .just hope we can keep what we have now and add peanuts and get a good start to the season

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would we pay 3m for a free agent?

Baines has turned down the chance to join man utd and wants to see out his career at Everton. COYB

Believable30 Unbelievable8

Just saw this myself, if it's true then goog on him, loyalty needs to be put to 1/2 more.

Agree1 Disagree1

If that's true he needs therapy! I'm all for loyalty but he's being offered a chance to play under the only manager and club apart from your own who will push Barca real bayern I wish you were there but don't become bitter and twisted like your neighbours when you were brilliant in the 80,s you appealed to everybody

Agree1 Disagree0

If thats true give him the captains armband. The Blue Queen.

Apparently Roque Santa Cruz is on the Radar according to Transfer Clockwatch. Anyone else heard this ?

Says he wants to stay in NW so Everton, Wigan and Blackburn on the case.

Believable11 Unbelievable20

Think he could do a job for us to be fair. Just the issue of his wages, but if he's narrowed it down to north west only, can't see any of the possible clubs offering big money.

Blue Dazzle

Agree0 Disagree0

Hopefully he'll be going to Wigan...along with Anichebe. BlueTone

Agree0 Disagree0

No he has said that he wants to stay in NW so media have just put two and two together.

Agree1 Disagree0

I think Tranmere would suit him

The deal for Pienaar is very close now by the looks of things, he's not gone on the Spurs pre-season tour and by the looks of things a fee has been agreed. All its waiting on is for Yobo to sign for Fenerbache to release the funds for the deal...
Toffeepidge

Believable19 Unbelievable3

On epl news they claim pienaar has signed for an undisclosed fee? Any truth or news Ed?
JP {Ed025's Note - not yet..but very close..

Agree1 Disagree0

No no no... Personal Terms have been agreed between Everton and Pienaar but the fee is what's left.

According to the Echo - they usually get transfers right

I may get attacked for this but according to football agent the Pienaar deal will be completed in the next 48 hours.

ToffeeMike

Believable17 Unbelievable4

Moyes said in his post match interveiw that he expects it to be completed soon so its a fairly credible comment.

Agree1 Disagree0

Its on ssn

Agree0 Disagree0

Never mind that attack him

Agree0 Disagree0

As simple as that ey! Haha...Wish all transfer sagas wer that simple!

Agree0 Disagree0

Did you also see Andy Carroll in the parade ring?
Big Jim.

Agree0 Disagree1

Andy Carroll?...it was horse racing - not a donkey derby. Ooh...that'll come back to haunt us :-)

Believable7 Unbelievable16

I would have him all day

Agree0 Disagree0

No where near Pienaars quality.

Metro saying united to make 8 mill bid for baines, want at least double that

Believable9 Unbelievable19

Didn't the tabloids originally state United were bidding £10m? Now they've gone down to £8m? It's all speculation. Take the best LB in the country, make up a rumour saying one of the "bigger" teams want him and boom, you're selling papers. Don't believe the journalists, I should know. Been doing journalism for 3 years now. If it's hot they'll make a story on it to earn quick money. Everton won't have received any bids at all for Baines whatsoever.

MikeyBlueNose.

Agree1 Disagree1

'the best left back in the country' Haha. He's nowhere near.

Agree0 Disagree0

Treble that and we might start listening.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fergie and the man utd hierarchy trying to unsettle a player as usual, bidding low so the player comes out and says he want to go to man utd, they tried it with RVP yesterday, thats why i say any evertonian who is made up when Man utd win just to do the kopites heads in is a mug, support your own team and thats Everton and stop supporting Man utd

Agree0 Disagree0

Nowhere near? coles better, click and evra cant attack as well as him, name another lb whos anywhere close

Agree0 Disagree0

Mickey, If you have been doing joruno things for a while, go do some reaserch on the ABC of Metro and its cost....Its a freebie..no sales {Ed001's Note - they still need to increase circulation to get advertisers.}

Agree1 Disagree0

So who is un-named poster? Lazy Evra? Cole who can't hit a barn door? Enrique? They don't even come close to Baines. He's a complete LB. Crossing, linking up, penalties, free kicks, pace etc. The list goes on.

One of the coaches from my work is also a coach at Everton (youth department), he said Owen has been having fitness training at Finch Farm for the past couple of weeks and will carry on until he has found a new club. He also said that all terms had been agreed with a medical passed but Everton dropped interest after the signing of Naismith
EtidAaron

Believable9 Unbelievable13

Who is a footy coach and has two jobs

Agree0 Disagree0

It's a school holidays kinda thing, which he's doing part time

Just seen on BBC that ferguson is planning to offer 8mil for baines..seems like a complete waste of time to be honest he surely must no that, that will never be accepted in a million years so why bother wasting our time with a laughable offer?
Blue D

Believable6 Unbelievable18

Because that is probably the price if his buyout clause to activate negotiations ( If it's true that is)
The Blue Prophet

Agree0 Disagree1

Where did this buyout clause appear from ?

ToffeeAL

Agree1 Disagree0

It's not the BBC reporting it it's in the football teletext pages in the gossip column. The BBC have taken the report from Metro so it's only tabloid tattle at the moment.
Moody Blue

Agree1 Disagree1

Is whiskey nose just after bainseys right boot? 8m if he's after a right back he can have hibbo for 8m

Agree1 Disagree1

Another waste of paper by the press.

WtG.

Agree0 Disagree0

They'll bid that because they know Everton want £15/20 million for him, so if they bid less the old red nose will know Baines head will be turned and they'll end up agreeing a deal at about £12 million because he'll want to go!
I'm worried about this one!
Mickey Blue Eyes

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe because he's only worth £8 million.

Agree0 Disagree0

Laughable? i would call that obscene 8 million quid for the best left back in the country.

Agree1 Disagree1

Lets be accurate the source was the Metro that fine news paper. So now we can add 8mill to the list of fees there throwing out there. They dont now anything its the same as last summer and the one before where they just keep throwing rumour after rumour to try and unsettle the club. Im sure this week there will be a fellaini rumour as it been quite on him recently then johny and Barkely. If it was true it would be major news and be in more than one paper and on sky news rather than just in the metro. COYB

Agree0 Disagree0

Buy out clauses are written into contracts by agents determined to secure better deals for their clients. Whiskey nose pays to find out these details and then try's his hand to start a frenzy. Newcastle did it to us with Rooney sparking a transfer request when the offer came in.
Baines is made of sterner stuff I think
The Blue Prophet

Agree0 Disagree0

We all now what a buy clause is. The Buy out clause would be much more than 8 million that would mean any club in the prem could buy him out, I dont think so not for an england international and him renewing his contract last year.

If there is a clause in the contract it would be near the same value that Lescott left for.

The funny thing with theses wind up merchants is that they don even think there story through and therfore its dimssed with ease.
