Conte is now being quoted at 20-1. The same price as Arteta.
Silva remains odds on.
I think Conte would be perfect for us. It's no secret he is out of favour with the Chelsea board.

It worries me that Moyes has moved to 3rd favourite. Please no. I like Conte and would take him, but wonder if he could cope with our somewhat mediocre players compared to what he has been used to. I would take most of those been touted for the job apart from Moyes. Looks like this week will put is all out of our misery when we find out who will be our next manager.

20 May 2018 22:51:42
Do not worry there is no way Moyes will be appointed. The board knows better than to appoint another manager who will cause that much controversy. Unless something mad happens it will be Silva.

The odds only reflect the money being placed by mug punters - the bookies want to ensure they make a profit based purely on what’s been wagered in the market - the odds don’t necessarily reflect who our board actually favour for the position.

Yeah pay no attention to odds! S. Lee was telling his mates to put money on them going to West Brom. The odds where 30-1 and then 7-1 before they recently appointed there manager.

I would rather we gave Arteta a rubbish than Silva, I've liked all I've read about Arteta's outlook on football, and with his Everton past will understand the fans from the off, we should go for him, and give him. the time to build something over 3-4 seasons.

{Ed025's Note - too big a gamble for me danny..

22 May 2018 06:23:53
I understand that will be the opinion of most fans Ed, I just can't help feeling this whole Silva affair will blow in our face over time.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - all managerial appointments are a gamble danny as sometimes you will get lucky and sometimes not, im looking forward to silva as he plays the game with a bit of style and thats whats been lacking, lets not be so negative and lets see it as a new era and back the guy to the hilt i say mate..

This whole Usmanov story is weird. Because reading reports. Kroenke doesn't want to buy him out and who is going to spend 700m on no say. Right now seems highly unlikely.

I'm pretty sure that 30% shares in Arsenal will sell a little easier than you think.
Have people lost their minds in the sun?

20 May 2018 20:56:25
If you had £600m would you buy 30% shares that don't get you a seat on the board and don't get you a say in the running of the club? Kroenke doesn't need them as he already has a majority shareholding. Usmanov's best hope is that Kroenke wants to de-list the club on the Stock Exchange which would require total ownership and allow him to do what he wants with it.

Its a little more complicated than that bullens.

20 May 2018 21:09:16
I'd sell em for more than that.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 May 2018 21:23:02
He doesn't have to sell them all to one person. There might be a few people willing to buy some of his shares. Fingers crossed.

Agree1 Disagree1

20 May 2018 21:59:53
Thats true Blueray but I'm sure he would want them sold in one hit.

21 May 2018 11:35:39
Even a multi-billionaire wouldn’t spend that amount on shares unless he could have a say in the running of the club or could sell his holding for a profit later on.

Mowfee82 Kroenke countered the offer that Usmanov made to buy his shares in Arsenal silent Stan WILL buy them off him should he decide to sell and if I was in a position where I had £700m worth of shares in a company and no actual say in how it was run I would sell and move on to something else.

£600 million of arsenal shares will give you a better return than investing in a bank, arsenal is all about profit.

chairlie571: are the profits from income (dividends) or when you sell the shares?

In eds review of the day for yesterday, says Lucien Favre has left nice. I know we were linked with him before koeman came. Maybe he is on our shortlist?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - who knows geoff?, i still think it will be silva but its not set in stone mate..

20 May 2018 10:06:40
I agree ed. Looks like Silva but few managers who have just left clubs include Favre and the Leipzig boss and fonseca name is not going away.
We may be surprised by who the new manager will be. Just got to wait and see.

{Ed025's Note - let the fun begin mate..

I think Favre is off to Dortmund.

20 May 2018 18:33:27
Didn't think about that, st. So see 8f batshauyi is available or if he is off to dortmund too.

Just read a report saying if he did want to sell his 30% shares in arsenal, he would have to find someone to pay 700 million with out any say in the club and not even a seat on the board, seems a lot of money for 30% so not sure how correct this is, but still a lot of money for anyone just to throw at some thing with out a say.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 May 2018 08:56:57
That would value the club at over 2 billion. Not sure that’s accurate.

20 May 2018 10:24:35
He may not sell. He can transfer the shares to a family member, wife, son, which would then allow him to buy into Everton. That's if the talk isn't just media bull!

Agree1 Disagree0

20 May 2018 10:39:29
The buyer may well get a seat on the board. It’s just that kronkea doesn’t want Usmanov to have a seat. And if his shenanigans are to be believed, I can understand why. It’s not about how many shares. It’s about whether you’re welcome or not.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 May 2018 11:33:58
Kroenke tried to buy Usmanovs shares recently I think so he could just sell them to him.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 May 2018 14:43:51
But people don’t buy shares just because they want a say in something I’m sure arsenal shares will make a lot of money just doing nothing, Usmanov wants a say but others might be happy to sit back and watch there shares rise, Moshiri shares in Everton are worth a lot more now than what he paid 2 years ago.

20 May 2018 14:51:22
Be interesting to see how they would both work together he doesn't get a big say at Arsenal I think if we get Usmanov it would take us to the next level financially and their business sense is second to none think we have a very bright future coming some get everything right on the pitch and happy days.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2018 16:27:41
He can't just gift the shares. It would be investigated under the money laundering laws/ rules.

Suggestions from some Arsenal fans that Kroenke might buy Usmanov's shares as then he will be able to 'de-list' the club on the stock market and do whatever he wants with it.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 May 2018 11:37:52
That “de-list” story is interesting - especially if Kroenke sees it as a way to make a buck.
