Apparently Moshiri texted Jim White to say he considered McCarthy part of the family and didn't want to jeopardise his place by buying Sissoko, as excuses go that's not very good!

Believable3 Unbelievable10

{Ed025's Note - anything that starts with "apparently" can usually be dismissed jonno..

Ed025: not apparently, fans believe the most ludicrous stories in the media (traditional and social) , rather than waiting for an official club announcement.
Not apparently, Everton Football Club are absolute rubbish at providing timely, accurate and comprehensive information to its fans.

Agree5 Disagree2

{Ed025's Note - there has in the past been a terrible situation between the club and the fans regarding information sid, im hoping that moshiri now having a DOF will address this issue soon mate..

01 Sep 2016 17:06:06
It's on Jim Whites official social media stream, he screenshot the message. There is 2 possibilities here, one for the last 6 months someone has conned Jim White in to believing they are Moshiri and are making a mug of him. Or Moshiri is actually sending these messages which in my opinion would be very very worrying.
Now Jim White broadcasts on the Premier Leagues ATM and you'd think given the several occasions Jim White has said he has received a message from Moshiri that the club would come out and say it's a hoax Jim lad you've been done.
This isn't a situation to be dismissed. If our majority shareholder is sending these messages then he's bloody Kenwright on speed with his BS and I can spout anything these numpties will believe it.
Re Koeman, he is not happy. He will say so on Friday next week in his press conference. If he's not happy because he wanted more players but doesn't hold the board responsible then that is fine. If he does then this could be a disaster.
My view is according to official financial reports we made a 2 mill profit this window in transfers in and out, the 17th lowest investment in the league. I think with the business we did that's extraordinary and quite brilliant actually. I think we have looked organized, fitter after Spurs, clear room to improve (with what we have) and all the signs are positive.
However if that BS was sent by Moshiri I don't like the sound of how he views us fans. I mean, wow, that's just utter nonsense.

Jim white is an idiot wouldn't believe a word he says.

{Ed025's Note - he really does think he is the star of transfer deadline day duke, the guys an absolute prat..

Many articles have now surfaced stated Mr Moshri's mistake was in entrusting the negotiations to Mr Kenwright and Mr Elstone albeit in the knowledge that he did not have a lot to choose from. As previously mentioned though this is early days in Mr Moshri's structural and staff revolution and hopefully Mr Kenwright will soon take an honoury position and Mr Elstone given a sideways shuffle.

Doubt Moshiri knows what a Jim White is.

{Ed025's Note - i know what a jim white is hugo..its rhyming slang.. :)

Well then Mr Moshiri is in for another cash injection as Jim White and Sky stand by the screenshot of the messages and his on air admissions that he received messages from Moshiri.
Look I'm a positive blue but this is not great be realistic.

The whole Sissoko debacle was exactly the same as the Payet one, and we end up looking mugs with poor excuses!

02 Sep 2016 17:58:27
My view on it is that Moshiri was genuinely excited at us finally landing Sissoko (so he believed) and he expected Sissoko to be on the plane and straight in for his medical and signing on forms. What none of us had accounted for was that either Sissoko or his agent had lied through their teeth hoping that we would prompt Spurs into action. which we did. The original story about Sissoko not answering his phone to Mr Koeman has a ring of truth to me. especially when it was stated that everything was in place but Sissoko went missing. Furthermore, I believe the statement that came later saying we had pulled out of the deal was done to "save face". It allows the club to look like we were not snubbed and allows Sissoko to move on with his career looking like a decent bloke. (which in my opinion he is not! )

Agree0 Disagree3

{Ed025's Note - i will buy that degsy..

02 Sep 2016 20:50:43
No it was BS pr statement as the hierarchy still feel that we will take what they say at face value.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Sep 2016 20:51:26
That would be my reading of it too Degsy. What about it? One player, Everton will continue on without him.

Or was Mr. Moshiri having the last laugh with Spurs (the old enemy) and in particular Levy, who is well known for his business acumen? Apparently the statement to pull out was made after their bid was almost doubled to match ours which obviously they could then not renege on, maybe it's just me but when I look at Mr. Moshiri's face I see someone with a smug smile who knows exactly what he wants and how to get it, a bit of a 'laughing assassin' I suppose.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed007's Note - Anyone else picturing Moshiri sitting stroking a white cat after reading that?}

''Anyone else picturing Moshiri sitting stroking a white cat after reading that? }''

Not me Ed. . That would entitle Levy to carry a 'WaltherPPK' and drive a 'DB7' with fitted 'ejector seat' 😨.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Sep 2016 12:56:07
I agree with that Degsy but do have a sneaky suspicion that the statement we pulled out probably had Mr Moshiri smirking that Spurs had now paid over the odds.
I don't see where the Arsenal fan Sissoko fits in their squad though, and still think we had a lucky escape!

Why would he be furious with the board? Interestingly, what are the odds of him remaining? Would like to put a few quid on that bet rather than the bet in your post.

01 Sep 2016 17:20:30
Nbtb on skybet next manager to leave club they have ronnie at 40/ 1 along with klopp and bilic is shorter odds at 25/ 1 so the odds are don't seem to shorten to much I suppose if u look at enough betting sites u will find something to worry about this is people just trying to find a story where there isn't one.

Are these the same betting sites that had us at 1/ 10 on to sign Sissoko yesterday when he was ALLEGEDLY coming? Bookies are in it for the coin and the only winner in the gambling industry is and always will be the bookie. I for one don't nothink think Ronnie is going anywhere givenue that it was him who said it will take 2 years to repair the last 2 years destruction. I do feel some fans need to be a bit more productive in their ramblings and actually find something tangible to moan about.

The rumour came from the same site that had us favourites to sign, witsel, mata, strootman and the lock Ness monster.

{Ed025's Note - i would swap niasse for the loch ness monster smit.. :)

01 Sep 2016 22:18:40
Koeman has said himself that it's going to take time to build this team (2 years) so like many others I don't think he'll be going anywhere just yet.

Hi eds is it right that free agents are not bound by the transfer window.

Also do you think it's possible that efc will look in that direction for recruits?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - They are not constrained if they were free agents during the transfer window. If they are released today then thay cannot join another club until January. I would not expect Everton to be looking at any Free Agents.}

01 Sep 2016 13:58:16
Cheers eds.

Have you seen some of the free agents on the sky app would imagine a deal till the end of the season on some of them could help us maybe.

Ed002: it is very unlikely, but if a club needed a goalkeeper on an emergency loan, then being given permission to take one released after the transfer window (rather than one released beforehand) surely could be possible - even though, as I say, it's a very unlikely scenario?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - No of course it can't happen. Who would be the loan from?}

01 Sep 2016 17:09:16
Ed002: of course it wouldn't be a loan, but how would taking a released goalkeeper (albeit released after the transfer window) be different rto taking a still contracted goalkeeper on loan from amother club? It's academic, but it'd be interesting to see how the Premier League would react to such an emergency goalkeeper request.

{Ed002's Note - The released player would need to sign a contract until the following June 30 as a minimum so it is not a loan.}

01 Sep 2016 17:22:12
Ed002: now I get it - the club would only want a short-term deal until their regular goalkeepers are available again, not one until 30th June. Thanks for clarifying that.
