I can assure you that Big Sam was interviewed today and this has led to the club being put into a quandary. Allardyce will only take the job if he is able to bring in his own backroom staff which amounts to about 10 people. It includes Sammy Lee and Craig Shakespeare amongst others- essentially his staff when with England. Everton are reticent as it means a number of redundancies. Apparently it's all been left in Everton's court.
Failing this Dyche's agent is pushing hard.

Sorry but that shouldn’t be a quandary that should be a “go do one Allardyce! ” we don’t need you!

lets hope Allardyce doesn't get it, i will not go again if he takes over, we are becoming a laughing stock, he is odds on fav with the bookies now.

Given that he'd only be here until the end of the season anyway, why go through all that upheaval? No doubt he'll want a £5m bonus for keeping us up as well.

I'd sooner have Moyes back, which for the record is the last thing I want.

Ed002 have you any information regarding a new manager at Everton? Have they spoke to or interviewed anyone?

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any approach to Burnley for Dyche but I still expect that there will be.}

I think so too. We’re in a right mess at the moment and it’s difficult to see where next positive result is going to come from. We have to be realistic. So called top managers want champs league. Someone like Marco Silva of Watford promising but only just joined them. Also it’s a big test for any manager to turn us around without no established experienced striker until Jan. DCL ok but he’s 20. So for me Sean Dyche looks like the pragmatic best option is troubled times for our beloved EFC.

In my opinion, a club needs to be able to offer 2 of 3 things to sign big players now (not in need of any development) Money (Tick) , attractive football club (unfortunately not at the moment) and high profile manager. I can't see big players coming to join the everton project for unsworth or dyche just yet. Think we need the high profile manager such as ancelotti (if possible) to get the big name striker we are after. And supposedly he's now on record in Germany saying he's got an affection for the Premiership and would be interested in a project 'like Everton. If true, I think it's a no brainer. And then he could possibly train unsworth (or someone else from within) to take the reigns later like he did with Paul Clements.

That isn't at all what he said. He's not going to come to Everton.

I'd like Ancelotti with somebody like Arteta as his number two.

Once again, we need a sense of realism. Ancelloti isn't coming. It's the same mentality that expected us to be breaking into the top 4 or challenging for the title. Dyche might be the best manager we can get. I'd love Fonseca, Silva or Favre, but they may not be options. Claude Puel wouldn't have been a bad shout for us - he has a long record of shoring up teams defensively and bringing young players through successfully - given time, which he wasn't at Southampton. There just aren't many options that suit what fans at least seem to want.

He said he is waiting until the summer as he is still being paid off by bayern Munich. I'm sure agreement could be reached as always it comes down to money.

wolves manager now being mentioned.

I do get hope good it would feel to appoint someone like Ancelloti. But as you say, scoundrel, he's said he's not signing anything until summer. We can't wait till then unless we're happy to have Unsworth in post all year - no decent manager signs a six-month contract. All Carlo said about Everton was that people keep mentioning his name in connection with various openings, four of which he mentioned specifically and one of these was Everton. He gave no indication whatsoever that he was open to it.

Can't see the guy from Wolves being interested. They're top of the league, he's been backed in the transfer market so why would he jib that for a club in real danger of going in the opposite direction?

Are we just a vanity project for Moshiri?
