Just heard Joey Barton has just had his contact terminated at Newcastle due to his "outspoken" attitude on the state of the club.
Moyes has already been on the phone and he will be an Everton player by Friday morning latest.
Let's hope so.....
Fits in with are budget, worth the risk i think, we could do with a mad dog in the team
Wont even last as long as Thomas under Kendall. He's a total and utter CRACKPOT. {Ed025's Note - no doubt about him being a head case, but well worth the gamble, on a free..
If you were real evertonians youd be totally against this everyone in liverpool knows that bartons a nob.cant see this happening in a million years {Ed025's Note - dont know about real evertonians..but realistic ones will say..yes please..
Hes everything that everton are not we are built on team spirit and hes a tool so you can be realistic ill be an evertonian
If i had to describe him in one word it would be 'b*llend'. He's a thug.
If i had to describe him in one word it would be 'b*llend'. He's a thug.
I doubt this one given his assault on Distin whilst they were both at City. Good player but a complete thug who isn't going to change anytime soon.
He will spoil dressing room hes a t*t even out on the ale wont last long .
I'm confused... So much negativity... Every Liverpudlian male seems to aspire to Barton's cocky swagger (i.e. walking like you've got a roll of carpet under each arm).
I agree with all the above points. Barton is a thug and a cock, i hate him. However he is talented and i guess if we want a trophy we have to accept the occaisional nutcase to give us a higher calibre team. I think id be fairly happy with a signing like him. Also i was told to keep an eye out for developments with pavlyucenko.. He will be moving, not defoe. Fingers crossed its to us.
We could do with a head case in the centre of the park and the fact that Barton is a thug doesn't really bother me..the fact that him and his family hold rather..shall we say right wing views bothers me a great deal. Have we forgotten the pre season tour with city in Thailand a few years back when he called Marcus Bent the 'N' word in a bar and got twxtted by Richard Dunn..his own player. Yes, he is a great little player but the baggage far out weighs the talent. (Wavertree blue) {Ed025's Note - fair point..
He assaulted ousmane dabo not distin An thats in the past totally different person now joey barton is a class act sign him up
Would be a terrific addition, yes, he has made mistakes in the past, but the past season or 2 has really woken up and realised he needed ot mature and has done so. Really love his intensity, and we desperately need that intensity in the midfield, someone who will wear their heart on their sleeve type player.
People cry about his past, but need I say we did have one Duncan Ferguson played for us a few years back. {Ed025's Note - not a good comparison...duncs errors were football related..
Can't compare Big D to Joey Barton....ridiculous. Also, to say he's "really woken up and realised he needed to mature"...I'm sure he has, so much so that Newcastle are willing to terminate his contract to let him do it
He would be disruptive to what is a tight-nit dressing room.
That said, why are we even discussing this, we couldn't afford a bag of skittles let alone his wages.
He didnt assualt distin it was dabo
Biggest person head on this planet. No good for morale and an average player - scraping the barrel if he comes - where is our pride?I'd play with 10 men before I went to watch such a moron
If moyes wants him i do
He has been convicted for assault 4 times and served a 3 month prison sentence. Sounds like he has had a troublesome past much like Barton did. I dont see how any of them were "football related" because headbutting someone is not football related, just because it happened on a football pitch doesnt mean it is football related.
Also, yes, he was outspoken, but EVERYTHING he said was TRUE in regards to the owners. I know a few Toon lads and they absolutely love the lad, and is gutted he is gone.
From what i here he went to every reserve and youth game at newcastle - his attitude really impressed people. Yes he is strong willed but thats passion we need in midfield......
We would definatley lose out on the Fifa Fairplay slot available with him in our team and he would probably get booked more than all the other players put together, people say he has changed ....get real a leopard never changes his spots....If you watched him on the TV when he played for the barcodes he was/is a gobby little sh*te even worse than Bellamy, I would feel totally uncomfortable taking my kids to the game knowing that this moronic ticking time-bomb could explode at any minute. {Ed025's Note - i think your being a bit dramatic there mate, he is not the nicest person in the world, but we are not asking you to marry him!, there are a lot of nasty people, who parade in football shirts, you see them every week, but at this moment in time, we cant afford to be choosy..
Barton is decent it would be stupid not to try for him...we have no money...we don't need money with barton, carew and trezeguet without a club
{Ed025's Note - i think your being a bit dramatic there mate, he is not the nicest person in the world, but we are not asking you to marry him, there are a lot of nasty people, who parade in football shirts, you see them every week, but at this moment in time, we cant afford to be choosy..
Sorry Ed, whatever happened to NIL SATUS NISI OPTIMUM.....ok maybe we can't get the likes of MESSI & CO but does that mean we should settle for a player that will harm our clubs reputation
I understand your point of there being a lot of unsavoury players around but Barton is by far the worst....read all the other posts and see what a troubled player on and off the pitch he is.
....if so as a comprimise in his contract it should stipulate that the 1st sign of any of his antics on and off the pitch he's outta here..No questions asked, your thoughts would be most welcome?{Ed025,s note-i see what you are saying mate...but he is on a free!..any sign of trouble, and he should be run out of the club, no question!, david moyes is one of the very few people who can handle him, for me..it is a no lose situation, and one i think we would be foolish to turn down!..
Whilst I don't profess to personally know J Barton or the rest of his clan..I do know people that either know of him personally or know his family very well, None of them have a good word to say about any of the Bartons including JB, predominantly the general concensous of opinion is that JB has been a thug all his life as have his family, he & his family all walk round with a big chips on their shoulders and think that the world owes them a living had he not been a professional footballer he would of been professional lager lout that would of been locked up for a long time by now, and they reckon they could tell worse stories of the bartons that the media haven't published.... not my words but others that know him well, makes me wonder if there is some truth in what they say?
2 question for everyone
Do we really want someone who is tainted by such prolific adversity?
We have all done silly things in our life that we regret, yet I would like to believe we all learn from our mistakes has Joey Barton learnt from his? {Ed025's Note - i would like to hope so...i say, give him a chance...not for joey bartons sake..but for the good of the club, and if he messes up!..toss him out on his ear!..
Im not a great lover of barton but as ed025 says give him a chance dm is no fool i think he can sort any probs in the team if has 2.and im sure if there was any in house trouble he would be out of the club fast
Get him for free...if he causes trouble sell him on for bit of cash next season
simple {Ed025's Note - i agree mate, i cant see the problem, with that..
