Andy de Smet a scout has confirmed, as also confirmed by Eds in a discussion we had on here, that we are scouting Engels from Brugge, must say I do like the look of him alas only from clips which is usually only the good bits.
Lemos is another linked of late and looks solid as well!
2 young CB's who do look quality! Just have to see what our new Manager will think!

Engels looks good, but the official Ruben Kazan twitter page once said that Lemos was the worst defender he'd ever seen.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - twitter is hardly the bible of sports stories though hugo.. :)

Where else am I going to get my football rumours from, Ed?! Haha. Just passing on what I've seen. Always take that kind of stuff with a pinch of salt, even if they come from official pages. Even they're just run by one person, and opinions on players are completely subjective.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - they are hugo..

Must've improved since then if Barcelona are interested in him.

Possible replacements for mori and stones maybe.

Hi Eds, what's the deal with signing players? It's odd, given that we don't have a manager that we're being linked with players. Surely there won't be any signings until we've appointed RM's successor?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The club will continue to look at players that have been identified.}

19 May 2016 20:33:00
All gone a bit dead on frank de boar taking over any news on him or is he still away with ajax.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - it will take time mate..

19 May 2016 21:17:39
I was afraid you say that think it needs to be sorted in next 2weeks or we could get left behind because of the euros and players going on holiday after it will be hard to get the players to gel in time.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - they wont rush into anything konehead, and to be honest im glad about that mate..

19 May 2016 21:34:10
Respect Ed025. Look what happened last time when the Club got rushed into a appointment.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed025's Note - it has to be done right mate..

19 May 2016 23:16:47
Where is this myth coming from that we rushed the Martinez appointment? Moyes was confirmed to be leaving in April and we appointed Martinez 2nd week in June. Hardly rushed.

All gone a bit quiet on the manager front. Any news on De Boer, Koeman etc Eds?

Cheers.

{Ed025's Note - all quiet on the everton front KR..

19 May 2016 21:25:46
As much as I would love the situation resolved quickly I wouldn't want things rushed and would prefer the right decision made on the manager front, no point rushing it and regretting it later!

{Ed025's Note - i agree ST..

Funes Mori might be off to Lazio. Thoughts?

I just read that too apparently he is ready to move on. I hope that's a joke he plays for half the season gets sent off in the Derby goes off kissing the badge like a muppet and now HE'S ready to move on? if this is true then good riddance! £15 million ought to buy him as he's apparently come on leaps and bounds since he signed in his agent mind at least.
(it's annoyed me a bit, don't know if its showing at all)

{Ed025's Note - i guessed it might of AL, dont believe all you hear in the press though mate..

Keep him and get rid of stones off! That's my opinion!

Good defender, under a good coach/ manager he will become a very good defender. Every team needs a defender in CB. My Grand Son at 8 is a good defender in my opinion, he has been signed by a good Club so they obviously agree. To me at 8 he is old school, he can pass but does not piss about, the ball is either wellied into the proverbial row Z, down the tram lines or just tapped out. The point I make is that every side would love a Martinez but with an Allardice/ Moyes graft.

Keep him for derbys.

I believe he is promising but needs a good coach, can't pass and gives it away to often, but has raw talent for a CB.

Don't be too quick to get rid of our defenders. I'm not sure any of them were managed correctly under RM. yes they all underperformed but let's give them a chance under someone else. I think they'll be a lot better which shouldn't come as a surprise.

According to FIFA. com -

"the player excelled as a holding midfielder with an ability to get forward and score goals" no wonder he likes a wander!

Right on Toffee Ace. He chipped in with a nice few goals. Decent manager will get our defense working better again.

I'm going to make a few enquiries today to see what construction companies know about the new stadium, as it will be put out to tender.

My company could and most probably go for it, don't know if they will get it tho.

Will keep you informed.

Pb; I do not think they even have a stage c design yet. So no construction company will be tendering yet. The architect and consultants will need to do a design first.

Zulu,

The tenders will be already out if true. The design package to get the job takes time and money.
Still waiting on a few people I contacted from Laing orourkes and sir Robert McAlpine, I am guessing here but mcalpines do most of the stadiums in the uk.

The Buckingham group also do a lot of stadium; if you gave any contacts.

19 May 2016 15:04:15
Pb you're off your rocker if you think it has gone out to tender to a construction contractor. Has a site even been decided? There is no way anytime will have been spent (and therefore money) with out knowing the location. First the architect will have to submit a design (which they can't do until they know the location) and have it signed off, Utility upgrades will have to be completed (designed, built and commissioned) before it even goes out to an engineering consultancy to design and then to a contractor. I have probably missed out many stages in the process but these things take months even years after a location has been decided not a few weeks. I know you're only trying to be positive.

Agree2 Disagree0

19 May 2016 18:35:05
If it is to be built it will already have been designed. Nothing will be released to public as tenders won't go out. As I said design packages to get the tender will be in place as we speak. Mayor is saying 2019. Olympic stadium took over 4 years, and design was done two years before that.
What you have heard is what is been allowed to be put out there as they mayor said he can only give certain details.

I can well imagine PB being on the right track.
I work for a shipping company and with regard to contracts there is such a thing as a 'letter of intent'.
I'm sure they must have similar in the building industry.

Aye Aye Captain.
