Blackburn fan - please don't shoot!
I work closely with the Blackburn academy and was told last night that Everton are very interested in Jordan Rhodes
I believe he is more than happy to stay but is apparently excited at the prospect
My source told me that John Stones will be part of any deal on a season long loan
Good luck for the new season and I can't wait to get back in the premier league as Goodison is my favourite ground. terrific atmosphere!

Believable27 Unbelievable11

I'll take that, cheers for the info mate.

Agree3 Disagree1

Top finisher can only help we have been desperatley short of quality strikers and looks like RM is trying to sort it out

Agree2 Disagree1

That could be a good deal depending on price, blue beard

Agree3 Disagree0

Me too. jamie

Agree2 Disagree0

Been saying for a few years the guys worth a shout, scores goals for fun, I doubt he be coming tho

Agree2 Disagree0

Would be a sound investment. Anyone know Rhodes' current value?

Agree1 Disagree0

Onlyhaveeyesforblue: Considering Blackburn paid £8M for him, and he had a good season, I'd expect at least a £12M valuation.

Agree1 Disagree1

Seen him against Wycombe a few years ago
He banged in 5 after coming on as a sub.

Agree3 Disagree0

Good player although I can't see us buying him myself, too expensive although if Bainsey or Fellaini are sold maybe.

James mCCathy deal agreed he favours a move to Everton over spurs

Believable16 Unbelievable11

No more wigan players please. It's turning us into a laughing stock and surely RM can see that it is making him look stupid too. Personally I would just raid la liga for players. Even average players like Michu make a big impact in the prem. They are so far ahead technically and are much better value for money.

Agree2 Disagree2

Why is it turning us into a laughing stock because we are buying a relegated teams best players when leeds were relegated and everyone swooped on their best players where they all laughing stocks too martinez knows these wigan players better than anyone and if he thinks they will improve us then I trust his judgement

Agree1 Disagree1

He's taken 2 of their best players, and potentially a 3rd. Nothing wrong with that, Mccarthy is rated highly and is young

Agree1 Disagree0

I don't agree that it's making the club or the manager a laughing stock.
Besides, raiding La Liga means bringing more non-homegrown players into our squad and we're restricted on how many (no more than 17 non-homegrown players aged over 21 in the registered squad of 25 players - with no limit on players aged 21 or under) just as every Premier League club is.

Agree2 Disagree0

Get of his back and give the guy a chance!

Agree2 Disagree0

Macarthy is the new Roy keane you watch him over the next few years he is starting to boss the midfield

Agree1 Disagree1

Mc carty is a class act. physical and a great passer and touch. rm stated when he was 18 yrs old he was first name on team sheet and it remained that way up until he left. i'm doubtful if any of the other wigan signings will do the biz. maybe the keeper will turn out ok but if we land mc carty he will walk straight into team and remain there easy pea sy.

Agree1 Disagree0

Sorry but he won't walk into the Everton team. He can the Wigan team but not Evertons. I also agree that he's buying too many Wigan players and should be looking elsewhere with that sort of money. Don't get me wrong iv seen McCarthy play and he's a good player but how many other good players are out there. Raiding Wigan of 4 is lazy in my opinion

DPP

Agree1 Disagree1

McCarthy is a very good player and would strengthen our squad significantly. The other players improve the sqaud and will compete for a place in the first team. We have a small sqaud. We needed more players to compete for places and RM has done this with about 6.5 million (4 players, decent players) That is not a laughing stock, that is very good bussiness. Wigan got relegated due to the weak links, but did have some good players. Kone scored more goals than any of our strikers. Alcaraz, we need another CB and he would be a decent 4th choice CB. Robles, good young keeper, back-up, competition, and a future 1st team GK. McCarthy- what we need. It doesn't matter were they come from, its what they can bring the team. Such criticism stems from narrow mindedness.

Agree1 Disagree0

I don't agree he's ' what we need ' at all mate. We have Gibbo and Fellaini who can both play in that sort of position and that's why I reckon this McCarthy rumours a stinker anyway. You wait, it won't happen. and we'll end up spending that sort of money much more wisely.

Agree0 Disagree0

Evertonmarc he took 3 with a potential 4. Just because Robles was on loan is besides the point. He was still a wigan player.

james mccarthy deal rising to 16.5 million. Done.
expect announcement Monday

Believable15 Unbelievable19

Far too much to pay for this kind of player! Joke!

Agree4 Disagree1

Only 10m. still without HG. is too expensive. 16.5m. forget it dude.

Agree3 Disagree0

We don't have that kind of money. I don't see why it is so difficult for people to understand that

Agree2 Disagree0

How does that tie in with what is stated on the official club website: "Roberto Martinez has not ruled out further summer arrivals at Everton but is vowing to take his time while he continues to assess the areas of his squad that need strengthening. "
A move by Monday is hardly taking his time.

Agree1 Disagree1

16. 5 is wayyyyyy over the top

Agree4 Disagree0

Don't understand why we would want to spend so much money on him, he's a very good player but that's silly money. If we are going to smash our transfer record then please be on a proven goalscorer.

Agree3 Disagree0

It says on the os that Martinez NOT ruling out further additions

Agree0 Disagree0

It will be staggered payments and add ons. Cool your beans

Agree0 Disagree0

If this rumour is true I wonder how many other Evertonians think we are being had I think for the sort of money being mentioned we could scour Europe and find as good or even better or get a centre mid and a winger for that sort of money would be interested to hear the thoughts of my fellow blues maybe I need to be convinced that I half not given the lad a fair write up and o could be completely wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

I accept that RM is NOT ruling out additions - I'm just commenting that a move for McCarthy by Monday seems to contradict the manager's remarks about taking time to assess the current squad before making any moves.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't pay over 6 million for him. I hope to god these rumours are untrue (I strongly suspect they are) because to blow anything over 6 million on him will be a disaster. He is nowhere near a 10 million pound player.

Agree1 Disagree1

James mc is a top class young player a current international and a future star anything above 10 million will be performance related and staged

Few sites saying we've bid for McCarthy of Wigan, £13.5m.

Believable13 Unbelievable17

I hope not!!

Agree2 Disagree0

10m. is reasonable for his performance+HG.

Agree2 Disagree0

Brilliant!

Agree0 Disagree1

I would say they are drunk Mike, nothing will happen now until after the US tour

PeterB5875

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes so everyone else can snap theses players up that's why we have to sign them now

Agree1 Disagree0

Don't think he is worth anywhere near that sorry, and I don't rate him all that good, I'm sure there is more CM out there who are better for the same price

Rich84

Agree2 Disagree2

Simple fact is that an overseas player of the same quality would be half the price.

Don't think he's worth that much but it's not as big a rip-off as some of the deals done across the park the last few years. If this deal happened without anyone leaving to finance it, I'd be happy enough.

Agree0 Disagree1

Diame half the price and twice the player

Was talking to a guy today who knows a bit going on at united was telling me Rooney is definitely leaving (in fact left he said) and is likely Chelsea but apparently psg have just come in for him. Anyway I then proceeded to ask him about baines and he said doesn't look like is going to happen, he said united think everton are asking too much for him and baines isn't too fussed about tue move so doesn't seem like it will happen. Also I mentioned fellaini and he said nothing not yet anyway. Just thought I'd share. COYB!
