I know the talk at this stage is more around players we are looking to get rid of but do any of the Eds know of any players that we have concrete interest in?

{Ed001's Note - I know there were a couple of players in Dutch football Brands was keen on before joining Everton, I can tell you them but there is no guarantee he would see them as being good enough for Everton. Van de Beek, Jahanbakhsh (I hope I spelt that right, he is playing for Iran in the World Cup anyway so you can check my spelling!), Vilhena and Frenkie de Jong.}

I worry about players coming from Holland just look how hard Klassen has found the premier league.
Dutch football was great many years ago but not these days it is in sad decline like Scottish football. Once we got players fom Scotland but rarely now, this is why I am worried about the appointment of Brants.

Great thanks Ed.

{Ed001's Note - welcome mate. There are a few other players I would think, based on my opinions of their ability, that he might look to now he has Everton to recruit for. Obviously he is not going to be able to cherry pick the best talent from Ajax while he was there, but now he can potentially move for them.}

Matthijs De Ligt is on brands list but Ajax will slap hefty price tag on him.

Give them Klaassen back, that would bring the price down some.

I don't get why everyone is so harsh on Klaassen, he has never been given a proper chance. I hope he gets his chance and plays well.

Not been on here for a while, and can't remember where I heard it, but Mirallas Williams and Klaassen have been told to find new clubs I believe! Ed, any news on Sandro? Does he have/ want a future at Everton? News of any other out goings? I also heard Calvert Lewin has turned down a loan move to Bournemouth.

{Ed002's Note - Sandro Ramirez will return to Everton if Sevilla get the striker they want - else, maybe another loan there. I don't know about the loan Will.}

Any eds know of any interest in any of our players just wondering as brands wants to trim the sqaud.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - In addition to Robles etc. who have been releases, there is interest from Ademola Lookman from Southampton (won't happen), RBL, Spartak Moscow, Crystal Palace and Arsenal. Ashley Williams and Luke Garbutt should be looking very hard for a new club. Everton want the Wayne Rooney situation resolved but it is causing a major financial issue as it hurts the wage budget badly (as Everton will pay something approaching $75k per week towards his wages). Fenerbahce want Yannick Bolasie on a loan with an option to buy deal.) Besiktas want Davy Klaassen on loan. Kevin Mirallas' agent will look for a deal with Galatasaray, Standard Liege or possibly somewhere in Asia, but it is up in the air right now. Sandro Ramirez will return to Everton if Sevilla get the striker they want - else, maybe another loan there.}

Cheers ED02 wow didn't realise we would have to pay 75k p/ w towards Rooneys wages.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I suspect that is what still needs to be resolved - but right now it is a figure somewhere near $75k. And don't forget, Everton are still paying for two managers' wages who are not at the club.}

I know ED02 unbelievable isn't it we have made some very costly mistakes hopefully Moshiri will of learnt a thing or two and will be taking advice of the right people whoever they may be.

{Ed002's Note - That is my fear in opting for Silva who has had five jobs in four years or whatever it is. I am far from convinced this was the best choice - we will see later in the season. Brands is a good choice and fixes a very large part of the problem so that will help tremendously.}

18 Jun 2018 12:23:56
Yes ED02 I think Brands is a fantastic appointment and I like the way he wants to be involved from every level something going from reports Walsh didn't do.

So Ed002. With your knowledge of Brands and his obvious experience in the role of DoF, do you think that his involvement in the Silva signing is surprising or even risky by his standards?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - There has to be a risk.}

Awesome knowledge Ed02.
