I see Riquelme is a free agent - he is no longer at Boca. At 34, could he do a job in the Premiership? Would make a great replacement for Arteta!

Can't beleive it is mid July and the annual Riquelme link has only just popped up. It will be Moutinho next followed by the old Rivaldo classic
Agree1

Haha he is a perma-link isn't he. He has also said he will only play on if his kids tell him to, can't really see them saying come on Dad lets move to liverpool it's boss there they have...erm...sefton park and erm....loads of rain

Pienaar starting for Tottenham tonight,so looks like no deal has been concluded YET! Let's hope this is his final game in a Tottenham shirt coyb
Believable13
Unbelievable4
Same old transfers take forever. Avb will see what his letting go and we won't get him. Come on board get ya fingers out, no more desperation last min August window deals ( drenthe) do it early or another late season miracle will be needed.
Agree1
Disagree1
Pienaar is probably waiting for a "bigger" club or a smaller club to pay huge wages (some team like Fulham) that's why he's stalling for time. If/when he does arrive the propaganda machine will kick in. It'll be like " I'm so happy to be back at my beloved Everton..." etc. You may call me cynical but I'm probably right. But then, if he dyed the business he can be as mercenary he likes. Long Live The Nuts !! {Ed001's Note - he has already told Spurs he only wants to go to Everton. That is why clubs such as Villa, who made an enquiry, are not firming up their interest in him. If he goes elsewhere, it will simply be because Everton fail to agree a deal with Spurs.}
Agree0
Disagree0
To be honest I think he won't come and realy not that botherd not consistant enough and not strong enough, we are all wanting him cause how he was at the end of season, remember when he was with us wasn't all that great, and he did the s***y on us, think we need to concentrate on younger players

Strange how all this takeover talks popping up again does a few people know something here what we dont know yet i wouldnt rule it out myself {Ed025's Note - i would..
Agree1

Just wondering why u are ruling a takeover out ed???
dublinblue {Ed025's Note - at the moment its not on the cards mate..it will happen, but some people come on here trolling, just to upset the apple cart, by making up unrealistic crap..
Agree1

True ed it is good to dream i suppose but i do hope it happens in the future so we can buy quality players like andy carroll ;)

The monies in the bank in the mornin!
Agree0

How do you know it will happen then Ed? Mike {Ed025's Note - we currently have a operating loss of -£5m per year, that is not sustainable long term, so we will have to get investment, or sell, to stay afloat..

18 Jul 2012 22:30:21
Look if Pienaar was told he wasn't required and wanted to join us he wouldn't have been playing tonight and certainly wouldn't have played well so obviously there is doubt on spurs and his side whether to go
Believable12
Unbelievable7
18 Jul 2012 22:23:41
Ed have you heard about Peter crouch meeting up with Moyes..I wouldn't mind him up front for bit with Jelavic?...gujo {Ed025's Note - actually, one of the scottish eds mentioned moyes was in glasgow today, and rumour up there was that he was meeting with crouch...this is unconfirmed at the moment, but i am trying to find out more, and will keep you posted..
Believable8
Unbelievable12
Are they the Scottish that were right about both Jelly and Naisy Ed? This surely cannot be true,I mean Stoke would ask for a lot of money surely about £12m with him being their top scorer last season.
Joe EFC {Ed025's Note - it was one of them joe...but he could not confirm it mate. as it was second hand information..

IF the reason we don't get Peanuts is cos of him, I will have lost all my respect for him tbf. MaxEFC
Believable11
Unbelievable5
I'll be happy to get Peinaar back cos he makes us tick but as a fella he's quite obviously cash driven so it wouldn't surprise me if he knocked us back for a few extra quid, but surely he should get parity with other high earners. {Ed025's Note - dont believe all you hear about pienarr wanting more money mate....people are guessing..
Agree1
Disagree1
Why is Piennar playing for Spurs, it doesn't look good, he should be up here. {Ed025's Note - lets just wait and see..
Agree1
Disagree1
I lost respect for him the first time he turned his back on us for money. AND NO, he didn't repay it in those few games he played for us last season! Held the club to ransom, we suffered on the pitch and now we're feeling it in the pocket. Good player but I'd be too proud to let a 30 yr old make a mockery of my club. Keep what we have an invest in a younger alternative. Everyone makes mistakes fair enough but Everton requires a special kind of person who once touched by the club will defend the badge and show honour, loyalty, pride and respect!
Not for me gents.
Agree1
Disagree1
At the time it was the best deal for all involved! His agent wanted him to move to get a fee, we wanted some cash and Pienaar's missues wanted him to move to London!
Agree1
Disagree1
Why is everybody condemning peanuts without knowing the facts. Nobody has any idea Whats going on, so why don't we just wait until we know more before reacting. Mike {Ed025's Note - exactly mike..
Agree1
Disagree1
Should of been signed sealed delivered July 1st but as always take to long over transfers. Let's get Adam Johnson, zaha or Moses.
Agree1
Disagree1
My condemnation is purely based on his original departure and the lead up. But agree with the chap about Johnson and co! Younger players with potential to eclipse Pienaar and the incentive/security of a guaranteed sell on fee.
Agree1
Disagree1
How could it have been signed sealed delivered by 1st July Pienaar wasn't even in the country until a few days ago. lets have a bit of patience fellas
ToffeeAL

If pienaar knows baines is going then that might affect his decision - and also whether Gareth bale is going as well - where did pienaar play last night? Left wing? Was bale not playing?
Clozemdowne
Agree0

Maybe we should get " Paul Daniels " in he might make some moves happen. :) {Ed025's Note - its "jack daniels" i need mate, to cope with all this negativity and moaning!..
Agree1
Disagree1
He just wants more money again, we will not sign him,go for some one else,??
Agree1
Disagree1
I agree if he wanted to be here he would be, make it happen 40k or 50k all players are money motivated and it pisses me off, working men paying £40 a match or season tickets £500.00 + for league games for these greeedy b******s to line their pockets with more cash than they can spend, they are removed from reality and up their own arses. sorry fellas but needs saying greedy players are killing the game, my mates a blue and watches southport now fraction of the price and watches lads who want to play with effort and who have jobs as well as playing for southport, dont just refer to pienaar they are all at it. Drogba last week apparently hasnt just gone to china for the money ! my arse he cant like duck pancakes that much the person !

apparantly the spurs fans are booin pienarr. hope that makes him wana join us even more. BILL
Believable15
Unbelievable2
Why would Spurs fans be booing Pienaar though ? {Ed025's Note - because he wants to play for everton?..
Agree0
Disagree0
Says who ? {Ed025's Note - said him!
Agree1
Disagree1
You have to ask why he's playing in the first place - is this deal really happening? I am less convinced now!
Barrymaa
Agree1
Disagree1
No, because he, along with Saha, congratulated Chelsea on their CL win.
Agree1
Disagree1
If he was so desperate to come to Everton, he would be here now. {Ed025's Note - how do you work that out?..
Agree0
Disagree0
I heard he wanted wages of £50K, we have offered £40k. If he wanted to come then the wages wouldn't be a problem.
Agree1
Disagree1
Sounds to me like the spurs board are just flexing their muscles and trying to say to Pienaar 'you're still our player and you'll do as we say until we release you'. It's just a power thing before they lose him.
Moody Blue {Ed025's Note - very possibly moody...but guys..we have got to stop panicking!...it could even be the case that moyes wont pay £5m plus a big wage?...but while he,s the manager, the decision lies with him, he might have another target for that position, who knows?...all im saying is let it run its course and see what happens..
Agree1
Disagree1
I am chilled Ed, I have total faith in Moyes even though he occasionally has me scratching my head. There have been a few Everton managers over the years who I haven't backed but Davey's had my support since the day he joined us and told us he had a 5 year plan, something I don't think any of his most recent predecessors had. I trust his judgement and if he should suddenly decide a player is no longer suitable for Everton for whatever reason he deems fit I'll go along with that. IMIT, IMWT.
Moody Blue
Agree1
Disagree1
So we've been chasing Pienaar all summer and then suddenly Moyes doesn't think he's suitable. Seems weird. Oh and what was Moyes 5 year plan, as he's been here 10 years now.
Agree1
Disagree1
Yeah ur right he is here 10 years now but his 5 year plan was probably based on him having a fair bit of money to spend but it didnt end up that way and for what he has bought wit little funds he had he has done great business in my opinion and will do for as long as we can hold onto him for.
dublinblue
Agree1
Disagree1
People are forgetting he got us uo to 4th with a shoe string budget. his net spend is £1.2m a year, no other manager would have done anything like the job Moyes has over the last 10 years
Agree0
Disagree1
Moyes has a one year plan, and every summer he re-evaluates that plan, and keeps us competitive & in the top 10......so IMWT !

Moyes gets money when he wants but he wants other teams to think we not got any to stop prices rising. Look at Liverpool with Henderson downing and Carroll because the other teams know they got money.
Agree1

Get off bills back as far as chairmen goes he is very good why do you think moyes has stayed for 10 years bill has had plenty of times to change manager when things are not going right but he trust moyes and moyes trusts him which is the most important relationship at any club its called stability so I like kenwright all the way don't knock him just cause he don't have lots of money look at how he runs the club so carry on bill as you are mr everton and continue to find that cash investment we need as no one wants it more than he does
Agree1

Yeah, carry on Bill, I don't care that we don't win trophies, as long as Bill is at the club. God knows why Moyes has stayed here so long here.

Hey john chill a lil mate, I'm just happy we have actually signed someone so early peanuts almost done and I'm sure 1or 2 will follow, although if we dont sign anyone else( after peanuts ) I will be more than happy just to keep our squad and add them 2,more more than happy,,we got a few quality youngsters gonna start playing more this season too.especially the likes of rodders and Barkley junior etc.looking forward to the start of the season gonna be a strong statement made by us blues this season I think. People will fear us guaranteed.

Oviedo is going to Wolves to link up again with Stale Solbakken. They have already beaten us to Bjorn Sigardarson. Why are we losing out on targets to Wolves all of a sudden??
Agree1

How good is he
Agree0

Why do people always assume whenever we are linked with some one he is a definite target and then moan when another club gets them, they may never have been on our Radar. They a rumours not fact.
Agree1
Disagree1
Possibly because they were not genuine targets in the first place.

I believe his contract runs out in 12 months if he is usch a big fab I would think he would jump at the chance of us signing a pre-contract & coming in on a Bosman.. But we would more than welcome this prospect
