Koeman you have lost the plot mate. Rooney (I apologise Wayne) was everywhere, the thing is when he got the ball where was the support or target. Midfielders with no pace, a team sitting so deep it was virtual capitulation, someone has to take the hit. This is the worse Everton side I have seen for years. So what has happened.

Lookman should be starting, you need pace.

you see spurs have been linked with 2 barkley-esque players this week alone would love to be a fly on the wall at his contract offer. thing is it will be a clear message to ross that any idea of a big contract is clearly gone. there is no definitive answer to what's wrong koeman's tactics and formations are wrong the players he picks and why he picks them is a mystery. for the life of me still don't know why we bought williams, keane is suffering from having an unsettled defence, but with williams keane and jags you just can't play a back 3 against good players they're just not quick enough. the board and koeman knew we needed another defender but didn't get one. the midfield is another hotspot both gana and morgan are too similar and rooney is filling there postions as the game wears on, but neither of them push forward. we have pace and defenders coming back from injury would we be in this position if seamus and bolasie were playing probs not. we have no clear leader on the pitch this maybe due to language barriers i don't know. imo koeman has forgotten the most fundamental thing in football making 11 guys play as a team cause a team they are not currently. whole thing is a nightmare, but if koeman wants us to play high tempo football like southampton did then he is going to have to start playing a more youthful 11 cause the current 11 are a joke.

Liverpool fan an here, I don't think the team is hat bad it's just josh key components, pace and a target man a lot of players were purchased and will need ti gel. I thought bo the players are good players maybe they're struggling with the system.

We sit in 18th on 4 points played five won 1 but from us in 18th up to fifth place is only four points in it all on the same number of games so if a few other results go our way and we win a few games over the next five then we can fly up the table.

I totally agree with you.
I think we played better today gutted with the result give it time we will get there get behind manager and team yes we have had a rough ride lately to say the least. Be patient things will start to pick up now. This is the manager who will win us things this is the manager we wanted give him time fellow blues before we bully him out. COYB.

If memory serves, and I am sure there are plenty on here that know better, 2016 season had we played the top 4 first we would have had 3 points. Spurs 1, Man City 1, Chelsea 0, and Man U 1.
So we have a 2 point deficit on 2016 which looks a lot worse due to them being in our first 5 fixtures. Yes we look disjointed with no pace and no target man, however we did look yesterday to have something about us.
Confidence is a major factor in winning games so hopefully if we can put on a show in our next 2 games and actually manage to score a goal or two, we will see the team regain a spirit fitting of our great club. Keep the faith.

{Ed025's Note - good post that chalkie..

Brilliant post chalkie. What I've been trying to say with my posts lately. Yours sums it up better there. Puts a different spin on things. The next 5 games will tell a lot how the season will go imho.

Out the first 5 league games 2 were at home, Stoke and Spuds. In the next 7 games 6 are at home. It will have to help, provided the crowd don't get on the players back too much. If the terrible start continues with all them games at home Koeman is a goner.

I'm one that is sticking up for him but in the next 7 games that have League cup, Europe games along with the Premiership games, if we don't get decent results and performances Koeman will be under serious pressure.

Dare I say it balotelli looked good on a free 😂😂 We need a presence up front Rooney turns back too many times and lost the ball far too much today think the team would be better without him in it.

Eddy Rooney was one of our best players today by far problem is he is turning back as there is nobody in front of him to play it into. In my opinion Rooney is best played just behind the striker benteke would have been an ideal target man for a season or two or giroud problem is we miss that target man and again today it showed.

{Ed025's Note - he gave the ball away too much for me keato and slowed the game down too much, it seems like everything goes through him and others are overlooked for his sake, just my opinion though mate..

17 Sep 2017 22:28:20
Rooney was one of our better players today, it's jags and williams that worried me today and it's nothing to do with there pace.

martina and Williams are a major problem and should both be dropped but overall I thought we did well yesterday and not for the first time the scoreline flattered utd.

Truebluemetz. You can't honestly say he was the best player for us. He lost the ball more than anybody else on the pitch! Take your Rooney goggles off!

just been told koeman has been nicked with a brass gunna be in the papers tomorrow, if true he is making us a joke of a club its more like a soap than a football team at the minute everton.

I doubt it's true. If you google 'Koeman Ellesmere Port' (where it's supposed to have happened) there's another identical rumour from June last year. Just twitter nonsense until it's reported by reputable newspapers.
