Just heard off a great source at the club that everton have 17m to spend on transfers this year, this doesn't include the business already done either. Expect something big
The Mole

Believable11 Unbelievable20

Denis Straqualursi was the only big name signing to Moyes. Hope Roberto's got someone really exciting on his Radar. Hopefully someone that we haven't discussed here, but we all agree could be the signing that smashes us into Europe.

Agree0 Disagree0

£17 million eh?. Very precise, you must be on the board.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope it is who I thinking it just might be WR?

Agree0 Disagree1

Already spent excluded not included?

Agree0 Disagree0

Mr Mole, I suggest you dig a hole and hibernate for the summer cause for my money you are going to be dissapointed.

I've posted up a few rumours on this site, some positive, others negative. Mostly people believe what they want to believe - positive (though not unbelievably positive, aka an imminent Rooney return, ) rumours are generally well received, whilst negative rumours, such as Bill Kenwright's well known (outside of the blue half of Merseyside, ) commercial incompetence, which is sadly dismissed as the ramblings of Kopites. Regardless of the accuracy one way or another. Anyway, after posting some negative stuff a while back, I've heard Moyes, believing himself the sole saviour of Everton, pissed a lot of people off before he went. Apparently Martinez has done the exact opposite and people who had made their minds up about leaving - Jags, Fel & Baines, have had a change of heart.

Believable12 Unbelievable13

Not surprised at all, the long term Martinez project of getting us into the CL is working and he's making the right moves. However I can see Felli leaving this window.

Agree1 Disagree1

So baines (and possibly even felli) had decided that he was so anoyed with moyes that he'd follow him to united?

Agree1 Disagree0

Moyes does love himself but I think he won't be able to handle the superstars and will fail at united - which I'd personally like :)

He wasn't THAT great at everton - we finished 1 or 2 places higher than our wage bill should dictate

Agree3 Disagree0

David moyes is an everton legend, one of the best managers and longest serving we've had, show a bit of respect
Uncle Ben

Agree1 Disagree2

David Moyes isn't an Everton legend, despite his long serving loyalty.

Agree1 Disagree1

Well said uncle Ben, people forget that before he came we were relegation candidates every year but he turned is into a top 6 team. You can't say he doesn't deserve to be praised for that. If you do you are too young to remember the dark days. And saying he actually wants Baines, how do you know? Newspapers are not believable, if they were Baines would of asked for a transfer request last Monday and would be a Man united player now. Don't believe the newspapers, they are all against everton and like to break us anyway they can!

Much more than just 1 or 2 places

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree uncle ben, moyes is a gentleman! The OP is lying by the way, pure bullpoo!

L4 4EL

Agree0 Disagree0

We finished a lot higher than we should of every season under David Moyes, much more than 1 or 2 places spending 5 million or less each transfer window

Agree0 Disagree0

Toffee Mike are you serious?. Moysey is an absolute legend. He made us a regular top 8 side with NO money. For me he is the second best manager we have ever had. OK he won no silverware but its so much harder to win trophies now than at anytime in our history. I think its just sour grapes.

Paul EFC

Agree1 Disagree0

Re. uncle ben go boil the rice you sell,, DM has gone, he is now trying to rip us apart, all respect has gone IMO

Agree0 Disagree1

To the poster that stated that we finished 1 or 2 places higher than our wage bill suggested, you are absolutely spot on mate. The fact that we were impotent in the transfer market for the majority of his 11 year tenure is almost irrelevant. The fact of the matter is, it's your wage bill, not your annual summer outlay that has more of a determination on your league standing and believe it or not, Evertons wage bill is right up there. Read a book called Soccernomics and it's all in there. It's not an exact science, but the stats in there don't lie.

Swigger

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it's universally accepted that Moyes brought stability and improved us immeasurably during his tenure.
However that doesn't mean he was liked. He may have been respected by the players but it's no secret that a few disliked him along with several members if staff as he was becoming increasingly arrogant and big headed.
But that's to be expected and happens in all walks if life that you don't like or get in with your boss.
Some were very pleased to see the back of him and that is the truth of the matter.

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyes won nothing with us how can he be a legend. Good manager yes but not a legend. Martinez won more at wigan. BLUEJ

Believable5 Unbelievable8

Agree0 Disagree0

Ive heard it could be an ex spanish international?

Agree0 Disagree0

So no one knows yet? Which tells me it's gunna be a big surprise! Thanks Edd

Rich84

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope it's not an ex Spanish player, I'm not being spoilt or anything but we need players who would improve our team and a young player, not some player who has passed it and who wants a load of wages and who would cost a bit too, sod that

Rich84

Agree0 Disagree0

If u don't know who we are signing how do u no it's going to be a big signing? Don't make sense?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed your not BK by any chance are you? {Ed025's Note - i wish mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

Quick question for ye Fellow Blues

Why is it ony Manchester United looking at Bainesee?

Why not a top top Seria A or La Liga team, what about super rich Monaco, PSG, Anzhi Shaktakawateva

I know some of them have great LB's but for me Bainesee is top 3 in the world and still has 5 years at the top of his game

Man City, Arsenal, Chelski he would improve any of the teams above so why only Man U.

Imagine Bainesee in a Barca/Real Madrid shirt, wouldn't be out of place in either of those two, classy little scouse lad

Degs

Believable11 Unbelievable4

"Anzhi Shaktakawateva". I have to say, that made my day.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think any team bar bayern Munich would take baines as they have alaba who performs at a similar level but is much younger

Agree1 Disagree0

In my opinion there are a few great left backs playing today. for a long time a great LB was like rocking horse poo, rare. but there's a bunch of them playing now

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think it is just united Degs. I think they are all waiting on the first bid to be accepted and then once that starts then you'll see more teams join theparty.

Although hopefully he tells them all to do one then signs on for another 3 seasons.

COYB
Toffee ace.

Agree0 Disagree0

Think he has been a great player, but not sure he could step up to the very top level, saying that, he may thrive with better players around him

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe controversial but why the foooof do people want to sort of see our better players sold and a local lad to boot?

Wishing and p*ssing away our belief and ambition.

Its like a virtual prem manager plug in Talk up his abilities but why that then translates into selling. next poster will then comment we are a selling club then we're not. if it ain't a rumour why post?

Agree0 Disagree0

Because bainesy has stated before he doesn't want to move abroad gets homesick eg england duty couple years back, hope he will remain a blue and help fire us towards top four coyb!

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2013 19:29:15
Read the post properly mate, never once stated I wanted Bainesee sold, come off your high horse for a bit, it is just banter

Degsy

Agree0 Disagree0

If he wants to stay in England, and wants to play CL before he starts to lose his peak (can already see it with Cole, so I would suggest he has 2-3 years) then there are only a few clubs that could be interested so can't see there is going to be a bidding frenzy! And his defensive skills are not the best, which could narrow it down further.

Agree0 Disagree0

Leighton Baines is contracted to Everton posting banter on a rumour page, then stating he's only wanted by one team, you simply don't know that for sure, then you wouldn't mind seeing him in another shirt. so he'd not be an Everton player any longer which would need him to have left, been sold or terminated his contract. I did read your post hence my intial reply.

Not the best comparison to make really

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2013 23:18:11
Dont understand your last post, For your information too I posted it on the banter section but Ed must have put it on the rumours, read my post yet again and try to understand and write in legible English mr anonymous

Degsy

Agree0 Disagree0

Baines great player going forward but can't defend! Fact!

Agree0 Disagree1

Got to agree with Toffee ace, I think loads of clubs will pile in if we accept an offer from anyone. let's hope we don't accept an offer, selling your best player is never good.

Agree0 Disagree0

The only real threats to Baines will be the 2 Manchester clubs. Baines is a local lad, family orientated, although he is not homesick, it is known that he enjoys the North West and plans on staying there.

I believe a couple years ago Bayern Munich were really sniffing about Baines, but they said to Bayern he has no intentions of moving abroad.

It is going to be Everton or the 2 Manc clubs. Fingers crossed it is Everton, because he and Alaba, to me, are the best LB's in the world

Hi ed are we going to put a bid in for Toby alderwield?
Thanks

Ed002 do you know of any other of everton's transfer targets?

Wasy {Ed002's Note - Alderweireld interests the club, a loan of Moses would be of interest.}

We will remain quiet on transfers for the time being pending on possible exits. We may make one signing: Diame but that is probably all. I expect about 2 transfers to come without any exits. A CB will depend on Heitinga, talks with jelavic will dictate whether we buy another striker. Fellaini will also be waited on in regards to jelavic replacement if he does leave as some of those funds could be put towards a striker. And of course Baines aswell. If felli and Baines go (which I don't think they will both go), I suspect a star striker and highly rated CM will come in as well as a LB.

Believable3 Unbelievable3

------fox-------

As I said before Honda to Milan and McGeedy won't be coming.

Felli to Utd. Everton will sign Diame or Chantome from PSG

Heitenga will go this summer possibly to Ajax or Turkey.

If Utd don't bid £19m Baines will sign a new deal in September.

Believable9 Unbelievable10

Fellaini out and Diame in as replacement? That leaves spare funds. I believe we would sign somebody more high profile as a fellaini replacement.

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on the Fox, who else we getting and who is our BIG signing?

Rich84

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, all very obvious, widely publicised and guesswork. Anything new or concrete?

Agree1 Disagree0

This is all guesswork, very good guesses though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Diame has said he's staying at West Ham

Hi folks my manc mate says utd to bid £16mil plus a player on loan for baines. Hope utd not true we want cash for top signing not cast offs on loan. Blue billy

Believable3 Unbelievable9

Oh no, your mate says that so he must be right. :D

Don't believe what your mates say Billy, another one will tell you completely different.

Agree0 Disagree0

If the loan is Rooney for 3years until his contract runs out and they pay his wages I accept otherwise Martinez can tell them where to shove there offer.
Quinny

Agree1 Disagree0

18 million and hernandez season loan

Agree1 Disagree0

My mates pretty good with all things utd, and what he said is beliveble unless you think utd and moyes have give up. Blue billy

Agree0 Disagree0

Ive heard hernandez straight swap, if true I would bite there hand off. Bainsey is knocking on now. And we need a goal scorer

Agree0 Disagree0

Is your mate a kopite by any chance!

Agree0 Disagree0

Could include alex butner in the deal

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2013 10:17:14
Any truth in the rumour of Fellini to Anfield? {Ed025's Note - no..

Believable5 Unbelievable18

Where did you hear that?

Agree0 Disagree0

, Kopites are great aren't they Ed!

Agree1 Disagree0

Never happening

Agree0 Disagree0

You seem to be confusing the words "great" and "Gbs****s"

Agree0 Disagree0

He will only leave for champ league football end off, why would he go there? Be going backwards

Agree0 Disagree0

About 35 million and a wage of about 170,000 p/w might do it, with a release clause of about 25 million if they fail to make champions league football this season. So it seems highly unlikely

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2013 17:15:31
You can tell it's "the most knowledgeable fans" by the spelling.

Agree0 Disagree0

Afraid it is true lads, Felli is going to Anfield.

It's due to happen on May 4th when he is going to score the winner for Everton! so more of a nightmare than a dream come true for the RS. {Ed025's Note - love it WtG..

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would he leave us for a smaller club?.

Agree1 Disagree0

35 million is what they paid for the Geordie donkey therefore Fellaini must be worth 70 mil in their world
