If there is anything in the Roony Felani swap rumour which I very much doubt I would take it and play Roony as an attacking midfielder. Roony could be like Alan Ball for Everton.thgfest

Believable18 Unbelievable14

How dare yo dirty Alan Ball's name with Rooney. Rooney's a good player but not fit to lace the white boots of Alan Ball, how dare you.

Agree4 Disagree0

Not a chance he's coming back but if he did the team would built around him playing just off jely/kone

Agree1 Disagree0

Thats fair comment but I only said he could be like Alan Ball. I started watching Everton in th early 60, s and Alan Ball is the best player I have seen in the royal blue. I think Roony could be a better player as an attacking midfielder and could improve and possibly reach the standards of Alan the great.thgfest

never quite understood why rooney has not played as the attacking midfielder for Manchester United since scholes lost the position to be honest, I do think he would work perfectly in a four man diamond midfield. If. and a big If he was to return I agree that he should start in the CF role behind Jelavic, as our midfield is not strong enough to play 2 up front yet. CraigHuytonBlue

Agree0 Disagree0

He should be playing as a striker because that's his position

Agree3 Disagree0

No chance rooney would come back here. He is still young enough to win trophies, and let's be honest we have no chance, unless we get money to buy class players. Plus he is on 250k.
bluenose.

Agree1 Disagree0

I wouldn't shake his hand if I had the opportunity put it that way, people forgetting very easily how his head was turned and the manner of how it happened. Kissing a Manchester United badge at Goodison park were he grew up was the ultimate insult. Don't be fooled by him having his son in an everton shirt and him coming to the odd game, he's an arrogant greedy little swine.

Agree2 Disagree0

Would love to see Wayne Rooney back in blue, better if it was in the same team as Felli.

When the white boots arrived Alan Ball was up to his eyes in debt to MANC bookmaker and his performances showed, that's why he went to Arsenal. I do know my history and get Rooney back!

Agree0 Disagree0

The Man United badge thing is weird - why did he do that?
Perhaps it was to get back at a section of fans that had been goading him?

Perhaps it was to gain favour with his new clubs fans? He knew they would be watching him and thinking "are you one of us or really still a blue in your mind?"
And so he kissed their badge in front of his old club and that was it they loved him. He knew he would be with them for most of his important years so made that choice but he should never have done it - but it was a statement to the Man United fans about where his loyalties now lay at that time.

Gareth Barry will be on his way to Everton on a season long loan with a view to buy of £4m at the end of it. Personally, I'm very happy with that especially with how often Gibson is injured.
AlexSmithEFC

Believable14 Unbelievable12

Yes if on loan a good move. Got experience and decent passer. Yes he lacks pace but so does gibbo.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah on loan maybe, wouldn't buy him for 4m at the end though, he'll be 33 by then.

Agree0 Disagree0

Where are these rumours coming from?

Agree0 Disagree0

His contract is up next year, why would we pay 4m

Agree0 Disagree0

We won't be buying him for 4mil his contract is up at the end of the season

Agree0 Disagree0

Well he's out of contract at city next summer, so you can probably get him for free then.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree loan is a good move and one I back but seriously he will be 33 at end of season not 4 million but good be great signing and a clever one hope city are paying most of the wages

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Aug 2013 22:40:33
i hope not he's rubbish

Agree1 Disagree0

Never rated Barry . Ponderously slow . Seems to take an eternity to turn, pass or decide what to do. Useful 5 years ago . Hardly worth a bench spot now.

Agree2 Disagree0

Wouldn't say no to a season long loan, and then get him on a free next season

Agree0 Disagree0

Odd move.see Bent is going to Fulham on loan, should've moved for him

Agree0 Disagree1

Not good enough, never was good enough, is playing way above his standard playing with City. 4m for a 33y old is a joke yeah, Barry in his prime was not worth 4m. The red shxte dodge a bullet not signing him. Offers nothing, does not score many goals, does not create a whole lot, can't run, never really seen him win many tackles, not bad at playing a 15 yard side ways pass, City will be a lot stronger if they get rid of the weakest link in there squad for the last 3 years. Did not take Pellegrini long to figure that out. Want shut and I believe he would let him go for 20 fags and a bag of crisps, that still over priced for me.

Agree2 Disagree0

He could be like a hitzleberger, if he came no one is saying that he is the long term answer but it would be good to bring him on after 75 minutes whilst we are defending a lead he can break play up and find a pass, could teach a few of the younger lads with his experience

L4 4EL

Agree0 Disagree0

Most over rated midfielder I've ever seen. How he ever played international football I'll never know. He's not RM's type so won't be coming.

Agree2 Disagree0

It's not always about pace if you have a football brain it wins hands down over pace look at Zidane he was not bad was he but did not have pace theo Walcott has bags of pace but has to be the most overrated player in last 5 years

Everton looking at FC Twente Serbian Winger Dusan Tadic and Australian Josh Brilliant. Tadic is great. Don't know about the Aussie kid though. But Aussies have been good for us in the past!

Believable11 Unbelievable4

Tadic looks great, hope we get him!

Agree0 Disagree0

The Aussie lad was recommended by tim Cahill he speaks very highly of him

Agree0 Disagree0

So by the Australians that have been good for us before you mean 1 - Tim Cahill, or do you mean Lucas Neil as well?

Agree1 Disagree0

Brillante is a good prospect, would able to get very cheap too, (im from aus)

Posted some on this before, didn't believe it then and don't believe it now. But here goes, just heard from a decent media source that a swap deal for Rooney with Fellaini was ostensibly agreed; with Rooney coming our way, and his wages covered, on loan for the duration of his contract; which was favoured by Moyes and Ferguson over selling him to a rival. Rooney himself however rejected it on the basis that Everton aren't a strong enough team and he wants Champions League football. Sad really, the lad had the opportunity to make himself a legend.

Gareth Barry to join on loan think would be great cover

Believable8 Unbelievable9

Paul Power, signed at 32 for 1 season 1985/86, he became a legend, maybe Barry might fall into that category

The Old Everton Crest that was taken down last week is now on Ebay, surely EITC should've got a chance of this instead of some lad from York who probably knows nothing about Everton,
BTW it's had 59 bids and is up to £480.

Ste-F, Old Swan

Believable6 Unbelievable5

I agree. Or they should have kept a bit longer while people get accustomed to the new badge (next years new one) and then let EITC sell It as an 'antique' for far more.

Agree0 Disagree0

Should have gone to a special fan or in a competition for STH IMO

Agree0 Disagree0

Whats it called can't find it on ebay

Agree0 Disagree2

Why couldn't the club just leave the original signs up seeing as though it will be changing the crest again next season? Just been past goodison and the new ones look awful on the bullens road side. Shocking.

Agree0 Disagree1

It will have been taken by one of the lads payed to take it down, probably not an EVERTONIAN and has seen the chance to make a few quid tbh!

Agree0 Disagree0

Wake up they said we'll have another badge next year, they got there foot in the door now are badge at the moment is here to stay!

Agree0 Disagree0

Seen it on ebay and it is only 40'' tall, the badges at goodison were all a lot bigger than that so I think that badge was never at goodison and someone is just trying to make money from a sign they have had made

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Aug 2013 17:12:46
we still need a striker a midfielder and a defender if we want to compete for top 4.

Believable9 Unbelievable3

No we need a billionaire if we're to compete in the top 4

Agree4 Disagree1

We need a deep CM to complete the squad maybe a winger, then replacements as we can't afford another striker or CB on the books without loosing Heitinga or Vellios/Anichebe

Agree0 Disagree0

And a billionaire new owner, new stadium, and better pies. let's just get behind what we have, football is a sport it's a game, Bradford got to the league cup final, Wigan bear city in the FA cup final, be positive money and new players is not the be all and end all. We went close last season but tailed off around Christmas because we didn't have a squad, the squad does have more depth now so anything is possible.

Not sure if it's the exciting news people are after, but Goodison Park will be on fifa 14, I doubt this is the news by the looks of that picture that they advertised, but knowing Everton it'll be that.

I have heard from the club doctors wife that Moyes has submitted a joint £30m bid for Baines and Felliaini. Everton told him where to go. Our players will not be sold on the cheap he once said and he's thinking he's smart as he knows our financial background. Cheeky git.

Everton boss Roberto Martinez says there will be no panic buys in the final fortnight of the transfer window . quoted on tv read into that what you want but doesn't sound to promising!

Believable8 Unbelievable3

Hes talking sence make.

Agree1 Disagree1

That's right I don't want average players being bought I want players that will improve first team out squad is ok we are not in Europe and that will work in our favour this season

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes but you could assume there are no more targets that are close to signing?

Agree0 Disagree0

I can't think of many things more promising for a manager to say to be honest. Why would you want panic buys?

Agree0 Disagree0

Is that you posting Moyesy? This is the way other managers do things, they identify the players they want, put offers in early doors, get the deal done and then work them in to the squad during pre-season.

No dithering, no making endless comments about "signings will come" and no buying in panic during the last hours of the window of who's left. You should try it Dave, it works!

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats all good news but what happens to the cash if we don't bring in new faces?

Hey! It could be that he has money and won't rush to waste it.

I'm liking Martinez . great statement by him on the Baines transfer rumour with Utd /Moyes .

But Martinez added: "They made it clear it was their final offer.
"We would hope David Moyes [who left Goodison this summer to succeed Alex Ferguson at Manchester United] feels that he owes something to Everton. If someone tells you it is their final offer, it should be their final offer."

Believable8 Unbelievable9

You're forgetting one massive massive factor, we're a mid-table club.

Agree0 Disagree2

6th with an aspiring, attacking manager is not mid table
Rooney could well get us euro football and let's face it would you rather be insulted by Moyes every week by being dumped on bench or living the dream with a cause you believed in?

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Aug 2013 07:04:03
No we ain't but you as a red will be!

Agree1 Disagree0

Anyone who says adding Rooney will not make us serious contenders for champions league is a fool he is the sort of player that takes us to another level please go and get him bill bring him home remember he left a different team to what we are now we weren't challenging for nothing we are now looking at challenging for Europe and champ league best friends with Stubbs and Gibson as well still lives around Liverpool let's remember he left to win trophies I think he has enough of them england place would not be in doubt as if fit he is on plane one thing missing in his life being happy on football pitch so why not play for the club he loves his son has everton kit with Gibson on back why not change it to 18 with Rooney on the back maybe all you tweeters out there get on to colleen and get her to beg her man I'm sure she could persuade him in one way or another

Agree2 Disagree0

All's I have to say on this is. Sigh

Paddock Blue

Agree0 Disagree0

Rooney would not make us CL contenders. He's a fat, overweight sunday league standard player. The only reason he looks good is he plays in a quality Utd team. For England he looks like what he is, a poor quality, overrated player.

Agree0 Disagree1

Only problem if we did do the swap, we would be extremely short on Centre Mid-fielders. If Fellaini goes and we don't get a replacement in we will have Gibson, Osman and Barkley as our only CM's

Agree1 Disagree0

Wayne Rooney is englands best player and a blue through and through he left because he knew the money we got saved us from, who knows what I for one would find the money for season tickets if the roo came home. HE IS WORLD CLASS

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would people not want rooney. fat ******* maybe proven goalscorer definitely. you don't score as many goals as he is without having talent. for years you have moaned for a proven goalscorer rooney is mentioned and you say no. if rooney isn't a proven goalscorer what is. I for one would welcome him home. I don't understand why anybody would not want rooney at there club. are you an person?

Agree0 Disagree0

If you read the post properly I've explained why I thought Rooney scored a few goals.
These forums are for people to express their opinions, if you don't like it that's fine. Don't rate the kid, never have, never will.
If that makes me an person, that's fine too, not a problem.
By your logic anyone voicing an opinion is an person? That means we all are. Do I call you an person for rating him? No, that's your choice. {Ed025's Note - fair point mate..
