just been reading tonight lots of fans do not want Silva, we have to get behind who Mr Moshiri brings in surely but rumblings again before a new one steps in the door, we could end up with this same scenario again that we had with Sam.

I think it's his record that people are seeing GB when you see other managers like Fonseca who has been hugely successful albeit in a far inferior league to the premiership and then see what Silva has achieved we just want the best we not have even spoken to Fonseca we don't know it's just that his name has popped up and people get excited. I've seen some fans even mention Emery now that would be a statement though never going to happen.

With all the changes so far today Moshiri is getting everything in order think we will know more tomorrow, if it's Silva I will get behind him as he's a definite upgrade on Sam and I think given time could do a job for us.

Somebody fans will not be happy whatever the club do. They all want Sam out but don’t want whoever is coming in!

15 May 2018 23:46:42
Remember GB there were a few on here that wanted Allardyce to stay until next season and thought he was doing a good job.
They will not be happy with him being replaced, whoever it is.

Fair point but I think 90% fans had issue with the football. I'm for Rafa myself but will be delighted with anyone, so long as BS is gone.

It's not as if people are preaching doom and gloom about a possible manager but we are all entitled to have an opinion on Silva or whoever else is linked with the job. It's the same at every club, look at the gunners. Some fans want Arteta and some want Enrique. Same here, some want Silva, some want Benitez ans some want Fonseca. We will see plenty of opinions on all of them if, as expected, Sam leaves after tomorrow.

16 May 2018 00:16:27
Have to say I am leaning towards Rafa but then I would t object to some of the other names like Fonseca or Emery and as mentioned before I even think Arteta could be a great shout
With Silva I think he could be a good manager just worry with the baggage attached right now however if he gets the gig he will get my support.

I think a lot of fans need to look beyond hull and Watford he won the league with Olympiacos with a 79% win rate and if he was coming off the back of that fans would be made up.

So it looks like the majority of us will have some good news tomorrow! But who should be the man to take the hot seat? Silva seems to be the main name being bandied around but I'm not convinced he is the right man for the job. He took Hull out of the relegation zone only for them to plummet back down and, eventually get relegated.

He started well with Watford but then went on a bad run and was sacked. The 'official' Watford reason was that he had his head turned by us wanting permission to speak to us. If that's true then would this happen again if he comes and does well enough for other clubs to want to talk to him? Reminds me of Martinez so, with all the above considered, I'd rather he wasn't given the job.

After thinking long and hard, there is only one man with the experience of the league and that would probably have a bit of pulling power. It pains me to say it, believe me, but that man is Benitez. I know ed25 won't be happy but is there a better qualified man out there?

It's all hyperthetical as I don't even know if he would be interested but we need a strong character in charge, if only to stabilise the club and create a base from where we can grow from over the next few seasons.
The board have to be decisive and get this appointment right. If we install a new manager and it all goes wrong, maybe fireman Sam the gravy guzzler can come back for a few games and get us out of trouble!

We don't just need an improvement, we need the best in the business at CEO.
whether that's DBB I don't know. But to compete with the best you have to go out and get the best.

Paul Joyce all but confirms that SA will be off, probably to be replaced by Silva. Fonseca would have been nice but he could sign an extension at Shakhtar. With Brands expected to be announced soon too, hopefully steps in the right direction!

15 May 2018 19:11:24
I know we’re not in the best of shape, but if Everton and West Ham have both made approaches then I cannot understand why you’d choose that circus. The owners are useless, the stadium is ridiculous and the CEO wants people to watch her TV show over her football team.

15 May 2018 10:34:48
Everyone seems to be up for the idea of keeping Keane in the “ideal” starting 11 for next season. is he actually good enough? The last two weeks I’ve seen him he has been pretty poor.

Prior to those last two games I thought he was pretty solid and was expecting him to be high on confidence, but those last two games say otherwise.

I think I would be offering him a way out tbf. If he says no, he shows he’s committed then by all means stay, he’s showing the minerals I want to see. But something says to me that he would consider leaving us at the first opportunity.

I don’t know. I’m not sure he’s quite good enough. Would he get into any of the teams that finished above us? I’m not sure he would.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

15 May 2018 10:51:42
I so want him to be good.
But in truth, he’s been pretty poor all season.
The Arnautovic goal on Sunday really showed him up.
Perhaps in time, in a confident squad, he’d improve?

Agree3 Disagree0

15 May 2018 12:11:51
How many players impressed this season. He's only 25 which is still young for a centre back. Deserves at least one more season as he undoubtedly will improve with time given the right circumstances.

Agree0 Disagree1

15 May 2018 12:48:51
Agreed, he’s not one I’d ship out. Whether he’s 1st choice will depend on the quality of who we bring in - some competition might do him good!

Agree0 Disagree1

15 May 2018 13:34:27
Centre Halves need to be you strongest players mentally and I don't know if Keanes got the confidence or strength.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 May 2018 22:42:23
Some CBs can't manage to be the main man. But work well when partnered with a really dominating, strong CB.

I think if we can find a captain type leader to slot in next to him, to bark at him all game, he will show he is worthy of a starting spot.

If all went smoothly he was meant to enjoy a safe season taking tips from the finishing Williams and Jags. He was meant to be the understudy but ended up being the main man and that's really thrown him under the bus.

I'm not worried about Keane, we need 2 new CBs cos I'd assume Williams is gone, Jags likely too but could be good for cover? Funes is surely toast and will be off too. The new CBs need to be 1st 11 material not ones for the future. A couple of 28 year old men required.
