would you take this, Baines to Manchester United for 18mill and we get Zaha on loan for a year {Ed025's Note - no way...zaha is well over-hyped..

Believable5 Unbelievable10

NOT A CHANCE. I would not give the ginger rat the steam of my s. A new job, a big job, a well paid job fine, I get all of that, but the way this has been done, and the way he has conducted himself, the man has no shame.

I remember seeing on tv the other day, that apparently Fellaini's release clause of '23. 5 Million' officially ends on the 14th of august. any truth in this. ?

Believable15 Unbelievable1

Yeah it does and if they want him after they will have to pay 30 mil

Agree0 Disagree0

He joined us right on close of the transfer window. so by the date his clauses change at the end of august

Agree0 Disagree0

He signed a new improved 5 year contract hence the date on his Claus

Agree0 Disagree0

It will change after the date he joined, the contract clause will change to a rised sum.

Honda wants to join Milan. Source
:Sky

Believable19 Unbelievable6

Thats that then, move on, mcarthey next on radar! chappie.

Agree0 Disagree1

What u expect Milan northern Italy, or Everton Northwest UK? Get real if u thought he'd choose us over Milan, world cup year or not!

Agree0 Disagree1

Everton are miles better than Milan.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree toffee mike. I would rather play in the best league in the world than the most corrupt.

Wudz

Agree1 Disagree0

Joe. do us a favour and move on from honda. and that's the same for the rest of blues posting about him. you sound as deluded as the reds

Not sure if utd want felleni as they missed out on thiago and have now appeared to put in a bid for fabregas so if utd not after him can only see arsenal in the prem as the only other club he could go to I so hope his release clause runs out and we keep him not only does his value go up but we keep a world class player plus we don't have to worry about his contract as he's on long term win win but saying that wenger will probably wait till last day of release Clause

Believable12 Unbelievable3

When does his contract run out

Agree0 Disagree0

Mid August it's not his contract that runs out its his release clause

Agree0 Disagree0

My question is more based on his contract. If his release clause passes, he may run down his contract this year and as a result command a cheaper fee at the end of this season. But obviously that risk depends on when his contract expires.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2013 15:56:49
Is RM putting his head on the block here saying Fellani is a vital component to the team (he's done the same with Baines)? Great if they are in the starting line up at Norwich and great if he's telling Moyes to do one, but if they go. ?

Believable8 Unbelievable4

The we move on as always, coyb

Gael Clichey on his way from Man City. Not required by the new man. Baines will be on his way there, 17 million bid by them pretty soon, i'm told.

Believable10 Unbelievable22

lunch time chat in work

if/when cesc goes to man u moyes will offer Anderson plus cash for Baines

moyes knows that Fellaini could leave at any point if the clause is met and we'll need to replace, plus he might be trying to force arsenals hand to buy Fellaini

Believable2 Unbelievable14

I don't like to point out rubbish players but surely if Utd had a worst player list Anderson's got to be somewhere at the bottom of it. For me he's been a flop and couldn't do much better than League One! Not for Everton thanks

Not happy about Howard losing the Number 1 spot. He needed backup not replacing straight away. My thoughts he will ask for a transfer, World Cup Year, he needs to be playing 1st team Football, Don't know enough about his replacement, might be world class. might be a dodgy keeper, we will know by September tho!, Howard will be gone by then IMO. {Ed025's Note - its only a number biffy..

Believable5 Unbelievable12

That makes no sense at all. Mucha was number 1. Howard has always been 24.

TC

Agree1 Disagree0

How do you know he's lost it? We've only played one pre season game an even they don't mean anything.
Mucha was always numbers 1 and he was never first choice.

Dave Tuebrook

Agree0 Disagree0

No mean nothing it's not like school boy football where you were fighting for certain shirt no's

Agree0 Disagree0

How has he lost it? He was always no. 24 any way plus Robles played at wkend cus Howard still away with USA I would get my facts straight b4 I throw a hissy fit next time biffy

Agree2 Disagree0

Why so upset if he does lose the number spot?. Howards a good keeper but nothing special in my opinion. He's still prone to stupid mistakes. Doubt he will put Robles straight in anyway, good to have a good deputy though.

Agree0 Disagree0

The number 1 shirt should have been retired after Mucha left. The pressure that shirt will be on future goalkeepers, will now be immense.

Mike {Ed025's Note - love it mike.. :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you mean literally the number 1 or,,, his place has first choice keeper. Howard didn't play yesterday, because he is at the Conacaf Gold Cup in the states.

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha my god how do people jump to these conclusion over a squad number which has not been Howard's and One preseason game which Howard wasn't even present to get selected from anyway my god haha

Agree0 Disagree0

Biffy does someone have a soft spot for big Tim eh haha.

Wudz

Agree0 Disagree0

Howards favourite no. is 24 much ;likeMichael jordans was 23 its an american college thing. He wouldn't want the no. 1 shirt he's explain this before
Jamie

Agree0 Disagree0

Howard has always had no. 24, it's just a number

Leighton Baines is on the verge of signing a new contract with Everton. The Toffees' left back has been linked with a move to Manchester United all summer, but it is understood that the England international will put pen to paper on a three year contract extension.

According to reports, Manchester United will not budge on their £12 million offer for the left back, with Everton seemingly asking for closer to £18 million for the defender. It is also uncertain whether or not Patrice Evra will be allowed to leave Old Trafford.

After some productive talks between Baines' agent and new Everton manager Roberto Martinez, there has been some progress and it is understood that the defender will sign a new contract within the next 7 days.

If we manage to pull off the Fer deal I think we will guarantee a top 4 finish
Come on Bill dig deep
Tricky Trev {Ed002's Note - Fer has moved to Norwich.}

Believable4 Unbelievable19

No transfer can guarantee us a top 4 finish what a bizarre statement. Also as Ed said he has gone to Norwich

Agree2 Disagree0

I think he has gone for half the amount they wanted us to pay as well.
TBH if only Norwich were in for him
i wouldn't be too arsed if I were you

stewillow

Agree0 Disagree0

Alreay moved to Norwich Trev, keep up mate, went for 4.5 million

Agree1 Disagree0

Yes fer has gone to a relagation threaten team instead obviously he don't know much about English football teams

Agree0 Disagree0

I think if we can sign Bob Latchford from Birmingham it will almost certainly guarantee us a top four finish. (Wavertree Blue)

Agree0 Disagree0

Forgot him mate. He has gone to Norwich.

Agree0 Disagree0

Glad to see that another one of our intrepid posters has their finger on the pulse of up-to-date transfer news ;-)
Any more scoops? Titanic hit by iceberg, invention of the wheel, discovery of fire?

Agree1 Disagree0

I think Juventus, Inter, etc. showed that a transfer can definitely guarantee a league position. a transfer of money to a series of bank accounts

Agree0 Disagree0

In response to Wavertree Blue. I have heard rumours that Birmingham want a player plus cash deal.

Shropshire Blue.

Agree0 Disagree0

Even Lionel Messi couldn't guarantee us a top four finish!

Agree0 Disagree0

Yep. gone and sailed thru the medical. nothing wrong with him in he U21's for Holland. he will be back to bite us, using Norwich as a stepping stone. And Norwich won't be relegation fodder, I promise you that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wake up!

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh dear Trev, First of all i'm going to guess that you don't know anything about Fer and have not seen him play more than three times. i'm also taking a stab in the dark that you don't see much TV.

Agree0 Disagree0

In response to Shropshire Blue, tell Birmingham we'll throw Johny H in. (Wavertree Blue)

Cash and Heitinga for alderwield apparently being talked about

Believable16 Unbelievable5

Would love this deal to go through. Alderwield is one of the many talented Belgians coming through, would fit Martinez's philosophy in passing from the back. We would have some serious competition for the CB spots, which is only good news, and have an eventual replacement for Distin when he retires, and we could get Heitinga out of the club.

Unfortunately hard to see it happening. Heitinga is on substantial wages, something which Ajax won't pay. It is going to be difficult to find a suitor for Heitinga, personally think he is going to sit tight and run down his contract

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2013 13:58:06
Being talked about by nobody else but people on Toffeeweb. at least make the rumours worthwhile!

Heitinga wasn't anywhere near the squad for the friendly. He hasn't been in any of the Austria training camp reports. He's off this summer.

Believable14 Unbelievable2

He was on international duties, so will only report back for training this week

Kev

Agree0 Disagree0

Heitinga should be off this summer, as he was off (off form that is!) most - if not all - of last season ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

That's cause he is getting married

Agree0 Disagree0

How will we cope

Agree0 Disagree0

Like the "How will we cope" comment. Seriousy though he needs to go, i'd take 2 mill just to get him off the wage bill.

{Ed002's Note - I expected Alderweireld to go to Spurs to replace Gallas or Roma to replace Marquinhos and I would not discount either club showing an interest in him still. Liverpool decided the asking price was too high, but it is certainly less than that being asked for Papadopoulos. It looked likely that a move to Bayer Leverkusen would go ahead but they too see him as over priced. Maybe Liverpool will look to him again if Skrtel or Agger move on. Norwich have made an enquiry and had a bid accepted by Ajax, but the player is not keen to move there. Everton will likely match Norwich's offer and put the player on the spot regarding a transfer. Arsenal may well show some interest if he is still available later in the summer.}

Ed002: you sound well-informed - and, unlike lazy journos who just regurgitate unsubstantiated dross and ladle out tired cliches, I reckon it's that you do your research amongst info that is out there and readily available with a little bit of work digging around.
Of course, you might also have good (reliable!) contacts in the footballing community to help with some info. {Ed002's Note - It is not quite like that Sid, but thanks.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Not saying you're wrong, but Spurs have already got Kaboul, Dawson, Caulker, and Vertonghen and Roma have just signed Benatia from Udinese for £12mil.

Agree1 Disagree0

Look forward to see he pair Vertongen again like at Ajax. Disaster become true for Spurs.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love Alderwield at Everton, experienced and yet still young and one of the emerging Belgian talents, and surely the presence of Fellaini and Mirallas will entice him to join Everton. If we could throw Heitinga in the deal, would be even sweeter.

Think he is a quality player and has been very good for Ajax. We missed out on Vertonghen, hopefully we don't make the same mistake, because I think this lad has the potential to be as good as him.

Fingers crossed.

Agree0 Disagree0

How much did norwich bid ed?
Bluekaz {Ed025's Note - £6.9m

Agree0 Disagree0

6.9 mil is a steal

Swap deal for toby alderweild of ajax with heitinga plus cash

Believable9 Unbelievable10

How much cash supposed to Oscar?

Agree1 Disagree0

Who would be your first choice pairing at centre back if we played a back four?
Who would be your preferred back three if we played that formation?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ajax want 10 million euros for alderweild so we will offer 5m plus heitinga and I would prefer to play three at the back

Agree0 Disagree0

A few sites are saying straight up 8 million euros but a few are saying its still just an enquiry and some are saying we have offered 6 million euros plus heitinga

Agree0 Disagree0

We will get him!

Agree1 Disagree0

15 Jul 2013 01:41:12
Wouldn't count on us signing that Jorginho, personally think the media have put us in because Liverpool are looking at him. Also I hope the Matri rumours aren't true 12 million to us is a lot of money and would be disappointed if we spent it on him or even McCarthy

Believable10 Unbelievable4

Who (realistically) would you be willing to see £12M spent on?

Agree0 Disagree0

With 12M, I would buy Nacer Chadli, or Jelle Vossen + Diame

I thought we played terrible today, didn't fill me full of hope. Fingers crossed we get better than that under RM!

Btw: Why does this Cowpat Sid CONSTANTLY go on about signing posts off? Is it important? For a transfer rumor maybe, for a opinion not at all.

I reserve my right not to sign off :D

Believable5 Unbelievable8

Because it's my right to do so, just as it's quite rightly yours not to want to do so. :-)

Agree0 Disagree1

I think Sid is just stating that there are a number of persons/trolls/Bullshi**ers who post anonymously and it is hard to judge who are the genuine posters when anonymity is used.

Cant see the problem with leaving your name to be honest, it gives a more friendly site.

Degsy

Agree1 Disagree0

Thanks for your comments, Degsy.
You've hit the nail on the head IMHO about how using names makes this forum more friendly and helps to identify genuine posters as opposed to mischievous and malevolent "persons" - but I also still stand by my original reply to the OP that it's his right not to sign his posts.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's pre season game, can't judge a team by these games, all about getting fitness levels back up.

Agree0 Disagree0

To be honest, Sid, I agree with everything you've said, in every post. I agree with all your opinions about it being early days and not to judge one friendly, as well as it being nice to sign off with a name. Plus, if you don't sign off, we can't tell who is really in the know, or who is just a bit of a fibber *cough* svenny *cough* so we can tell whether to trust you in the future.

Agree0 Disagree0

AB1878: thanks for your comments - it's good to know that it's not just me who likes posters to leave a name, but every poster chooses as they see fit as is their right.

Agree0 Disagree0

Look AB I posted that RM is interested in Tonny Vilhena from Ajax. "I'm not in the know" but I read it on a website. that's why its called a rumour and nothing I have read on this site appears to come from someone in the know, its either something from the internet which can easily be found with a quick search or is total bull which you can spot a mile off if you have an ounce of common sense. Don't see the need to post my name but if it makes you feel better my name is Paul.

Ed's do you know if there have been any enquiries about Johnny? He's made it pretty clear he has no invention of resigning. I'd love to use the sale money with our leftover cash to buy Diame and Honda. It would also make room for Duffy to get in the squad. {Ed025's Note - nothing yet christian..

Believable0 Unbelievable3

Would any of you be overly disappointed if Heitinga left the club?
For me personally, I'd say probably no - just put any incoming transfer fee to good use.
More contentiously, would any of you be overly disappointed if Duffy left the club?
For me personally, probably yes, as he's still developing as a potential first-team player. IMHO, young centre-backs take longer than other outfield players to progress into regular first-team players and I think that Duffy still needs a little more time to do so.
