You know what, I'm a bit pissed off with the lack of transfer activity goin on with the blues but when I see what the red s**te are spending on that bunch of cart horses the smile suddenly reappears , downing CAPTURED for 20 million ha ha f*** me I'd have tied a big pink bow on the person an driven him there myself if I was McLeish... Brilliant

Believable12 Unbelievable8

I wouldn't get too excited, I reckon they will do well this season. Adam & Downing will be good signings. It doesn't matter how much they cost, look what they got for the crock Torres...

We will be lucky to finish in the top 10

Agree0 Disagree0

Cart horses?so you wouldnt like carroll, suarez, henderson, adam, downing, in yr team, at least we dont finish a game with 10 men because we dont have enough players, ynwa,

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair point but £20m for Downing?? Eh? Say that again. The yanks have obviously put all of their faith in the toothy red coward.

Agree0 Disagree0

Suarez yes- henderson---who WTF-

Agree0 Disagree0

Loadsa money wasted by liverpool again ace

Agree0 Disagree0

Bey you wish you had the money to waste lol

Agree0 Disagree0

You are the very reason people refer to us as the bitter. Lets concentrate on our own club. Even if there are no new arrivals we have great team spirit, a great manager and a host of young lads who would bleed for the badge. So lets mind our own and get on with it

Agree0 Disagree0

U call downing pigs**te so name someone decent everton have ever bought...........lets see........mmmmm oh ya nobody only man utd rejects haha

Agree0 Disagree0

At least they have money to spend They now have options, we S**t have we got? Top half table finish, not a **cking hope {Ed025's Note - we will finish top 7...even if we dont sign anyone...have faith..we still have a damn good side!..

Everton have made an official bid of £10m for Charles N'Zogbia (Somehow)

Believable26 Unbelievable15

No we havent if u look on the sky sports website it says that we are considering a bid and hope to b able to beat villa to his signature but as of yet no official bid has been made

Agree0 Disagree0

HE WON'T GO TO A CLUB WITH NO MONEY {Ed025's Note - well that rules out...90% of the prem!!

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm hearing rodders has gone for £25m to united

Agree0 Disagree0

What this about rodwell? {Ed025's Note - you do realise you are on a roumors site ...dont you?

Agree0 Disagree0

If we've got 10 mill to spend on Nzogbia why didn't we give Pienaar the extra 20 quid a week he wanted and keep him?

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2011 20:08:34

maybe yakubu isn't that bad after all... {Ed025's Note - no comment

Believable9 Unbelievable6

A fit yak gets u 15 plus goals a season i say keep him and give him games {Ed025's Note - yes....but a fat yak....does,nt

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeh, but apparently he has impressed Moyes with his attitude and has done some work over the offseason. I believe Yak can be the striker we need, I mean he did it in his first season. You need to remember his injury was VERY serious and to fully recover you need a good 2yrs, not to mention the WC didnt help his attitude/mentality, but, he seems to have put all that stuff behind him now, and looks like he could do a job for us

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd rather have a 50% Yak than a 100% Beckford to be perfectly honest... but I doubt he'll stay.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2011 19:33:57
I would be happy with a few loan signings namely donovan and sturridge. As long as the other key members of the aquad stay injury free then we can easily challenge for Europe next season.

Moyes's history shows he very rarely buys sh*te and if he has a limited transfer kitty then he is not going to waste it....unlike some other club not to far away that will spend it on any old sh*te........

Henderson - unproven
Downing - over-rated
Adam - A Rangers reject

and not forgetting the fat pony tailed Geordie

COYB {Ed025's Note - we can not afford to waste money...so david is waiting for the dust to settle, when other clubs have set out their stall..and made their signings, some clubs will have a surplus of players, they will be grateful to loan..or maybe sell guys who they think, will not figure much next season, to reduce the wage bills....hopefully chelsea will see sturridge in this light...and i for one, would love him to come. we all know the money situation at everton is dire, but we must trust moysie to pull a rabbit out of the hat..so that we can at least challenge the top sides..

Believable6 Unbelievable5

Rangers reject who was named in the PFA team of the year you joke , downing most consistent winger in the prem , Carroll future England No. 9 , Henderson future England regular , let's have it right your small club is devastated what is going on at LFC

Dunlfc

Agree0 Disagree0

Carroll is a pantomine horse, henderson is average at best and suaraez just dives all the time. Kennys clowns will mess up next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Stop worrying about liverpool will ye , worry bout relegation which is looming

Agree0 Disagree0

Adam on PFA Players top 3?
Downing playerof the year villa?
Henderson England cap?

Agree0 Disagree0

Adam only looked good because he was in a sh*t team.

Henderson - anyone these days gets an England cap.

Downing - I could of been the player of the year at Villa last year.

Time will tell I guess

Agree0 Disagree0

Ha ha Dunlfc - Baines was more consistent than Downing and OPTA confirmed he put more crosses in to the opposition penalt area. You can't produce your own kids so you buy them in - oh who was in charge of your academy at the time? Kenny Dalglish - go and push a wall.

So why can't we start well? In my opinion, for once we caused our own demise last season by not having a good enough strike force from day one.
We had quality and depth all over the pitch except for goal scorers.
We are in a worse position this season as two of our more experienced forwards are gone (or soon to be gone). We need at least one quality centre forward and we need to spend any loose change Bill can get his hands on to get one. {Ed025's Note - totally agree...great post

Robert elstones blog on the website, he basically dis respects fans and argues and rambles for the whole page, what a loser, im annoyed with what ive just read

Believable9 Unbelievable5

Why has this upset you??
He has, as he always has, told the truth and said it as is is. We are skint and thats that, so we cant afford new players. You dont buy a new car when you cant afford one, you just keep reparing it until something else comes up.
I am as gutted as the next season ticket holder but its life, were Everton and unless you want to stop being a blue then get use to it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said post 2

Agree0 Disagree0

Why are we surprised - it happens every year

Agree0 Disagree0

Get in the real world mate, do you honestly believe that 95% of all our money goes on wages ?? No chance, we are 9th in a league of who pays there players the most wages
Its all lies and naive fickle fans like you are the ones that are keeping these idiots in charge of our club

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont see anyone being naive and fickle there lad, think he had a good point. No matter what anyone of us say or do, the 'idiots' you say that are in charge of the club, are there for now.

Agree0 Disagree0

Face it we sell to buy, why sell if we can't buy any better and that's the simple situation. Why sell rod well to bring in 3 players who have less potential. That's the basics.

Agree0 Disagree0

I heard elstone is in the top 10 richest in britian he's on are board why carnt he give some money to kenwrite.

Heavily linked with German Evertonian, Lewis Holtby. Only 20, I think he'd be a very good signing and if that's all we got, I guess i'd be relatively pleased. {Ed025's Note - i would like it too...at the moment...id take heskey...only kidding ha ha

Who the hell is "Inzogbia"?? And who is "Danns"?? I assume you mean Scott Dann but 12m for him makes no sense at all when we are skint and already have quality centre halves {Ed025's Note - beeing habil to spell....iz not de hend hov de wirld..

I think Moyes is a legend of a manager but one thing I don't get is why he always plays 1 up front so often and why he plays Cahill more as a forward than a striker.

Cahill is a great finisher and is probably inch for inch the best player in the air in the premier league. He's ok at holding up the ball but no disrespect to him, because he's one of my fav players and always gives 120% for the team, but he's no Zidane or Del Piero in terms of his distribution.

Why doesn't Moyes play him upfront alongside Beckford rather than as a forward, playing deeper?

Imo you either play with 5 in midfield to gain more posession by having a player who helps win more ball back (not what Cahill is really used for) or because you have a seriously good creative player who can open up defences with his passing and score with long shots from the edge of the box (which aren't cahills biggest strengths either imo).

Cahill should be used as an out and out striker. We're wasting his best skills playing him as a forward and I think he could score even more goals if he played in a more advanced role.

I also think Beckford plays better with another striker alongside him. That's how he was played at Leeds and it was partly why he struggled to get off to a good start last season, because playing upfront, on your own, when you're not used to it is really hard and a totally different skill to playing in a partnership.

I think Moyes can solve our striking problems with his use of tactics and players that we already have.

I think Yakubu is lazy but I also think he's a great striker of the ball and when he's "fit" and confident he can score for fun. If him and Moyes can put the past behind them and the Yak can put some more effort in I think either Cahill or Yakubu can solve our striking problems as I'm expecting Beckford to have an even better season this year as I think he's a quality player and has great movement.

If we can get a good left winger in, put Arteta on the right wing and play RodwellHeigtinga alongside Fellaini in the middle any team will find us hard to beat.

*Whiteshadow*

Believable7 Unbelievable5

We havnt got pace in the side thats why he plays one up front i think moyes would love to play 442 but he hasnt got the players to do that

Agree0 Disagree0

A very good read, you have some excellent points and bring a bit of wanted optimism to our current situation

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm sure he normally is in the cam position but the reason he plays him up is that what real quality threat do we have upfront cahils the one wh gets the goals beckford gets the odd one Saha is never fit and when he is he is quality, anichebe doesn't get goals

Agree0 Disagree0

Cahill is absolute bollocks when he is an out and out striker, has done it for Everton a few times, and did it in the WC and was completely shut down against germany (then sent off). Cahills best attribute is his timing of runs and his aerial presence, if he is an out and out striker then CB's will man mark, but when he is floating between forward and midfield it is difficult to mark, thus he can make his runs unmarked and score. Agree with your thoughts about the Yak, him and Moyes need to sort s**t out becuase he is a striker capable of putting 15 in the back of the net in a season as he showe din his first season

Agree0 Disagree0

Personaly I would like Saha to partner Beckford.............. if he can stay fit

Agree0 Disagree0

Cahill is a good player but when he plays the forward alongside him doesn't seem to score - so cahill scores 1 in 2 or 3 games and the other guy gets nothing. We had a bad patch last season when Cahill was playing alongside a.n.other and it wasn't working. Then Tim did his usual disappearing act to play for Australia and we started scoring and winning. The other forwards seem to prefer playing together than with Tim. Tim arrived back expecting to be straight back in the team and was probably surprised that he wasn't - hence the comments about starting to put everton first. In my opinion we need two proper forwards who develop a partnership - like saha/beckford or yak/beckford or another+beckford. Cahill can still be good for us - but I do not see him in the first 11 if everyone is completely fit. He just doesn't seem to get the other forward scoring.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with you to a certain degree but i think the way moyes uses cahill at present is spot on an thats why he has already scored so much goals i think he gets the absolute best out of him.

Agree0 Disagree0

If he plays 1 up front all the time (even at home against crap teams) he's not a legend of a manager then is he? He's got no balls i'm afraid.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well Barcelona play with one striker and no one criticises their tactics 4-4-2 isn't all it's cracked up to be, you don't see the top teams being so rigid. Most play 4-3-3 or 4-5-1 nowadays, it's all about midfield. Take ur point on Cahill tho he is limited and won't be remembered for his passing game {Ed025's Note - but he will be remembered.....for scoring important goals..

Agree0 Disagree0

Negative tactics at home against stoke, wolves, wigan etc cost us vital points last season.

Would love that to happen but I think those two together are worth probably about 30m, which is more than Rodwell is worth.
