It is obvious from Moyes' comments today that he will not be signing a new contract in the summer--he must already have a job lined up--we should sack him now and start preparing now for the next appoitment --it has to be Laudrup {Ed025's Note - i dont see it as obvious mate...personally i dont think he will leave..

Well said Ed I think we are going to see some sort of investment, keep up the good work GuernseyBlue

Ed--if it is not obvious then I think Moyse sis playing a very dangerous game--the uncertainty he is causing could undermine the tail end of the seaon {Ed025's Note - i agree mate...i would like him to clarify the situation.

Agree0 Disagree0

I know while we have the chance of winning the fa cup and/or finishing fourth let's sack our manager! Yeah that makes sense! Unbelievable! {Ed013's Note - Who would come in and do a better job? The grass is not always greener and Dave Moyes is doing and has done a great job}

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha, 6th still in the hunt for 4th and potentially in the Quarters of the Cup, let's sack the manager. Haha! What a statement.

There is no point worrying about it until the summer because I really don't think Moyes knows what he is doing yet. Personally I think he is sitting tight until the summer, wait and see what type of jobs open up in the summer, if there is one he likes, he will go for it, if there isn't, he will stay put and sign a 2-3yr deal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed, I know that you don't like it when we blues have a go at each other, but this is one of the most stupid original posts I've ever seen on here.

Whatever your opinion of Moyes, the man has been consistently honest during his time at Everton, whether it be about funds, players' behaviour or anything else relating to the club. If he says that he'll make a decision at the end of the season then past experience, common sense and basic decency would suggest that we take him at his word.

As for the idea that we should sack DM for giving a straight question with a straight answer, why? What possible advantage could be gained by removing a man with an in-depth knowledge of every aspect of the club and replacing him with, what? A Stubbs/Neville combo with no managerial experience? A new manager who doesn't know the players but does have a new set of ideas that it would inevitably take time and money to implement? A couple of months of uncertainty followed by a summer appointment of a manager who would only face the same limitations and challenges that Moyes has had to navigate over the past decade? Yeah, that would be a genius move. Let's do that.

Sorry, a very long reply but the OP genuinely wound me up and I felt I needed to vent. {Ed025's Note - and thats your right mate..to suggest we sack him..is nothing short of ludicrous..

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyes position is affecting team spirit at this moment. a very poor team effort. why let oldham come on to us in the last 30 mins like they did. we score early in second half then try to defend the game out. the body language in the team is there for everybody to see ; I do think we have a good team and can win something this season so please mr moyes get rid of the negative approach and then we will start winning something {Ed025's Note - i thought when he changed it, that we done ok mate..games like this are never easy..

Agree0 Disagree0

Be careful what you wish for lads, I remember Curbishley getting sacked from Charlton just because he could only finish 6th in the league, look at them now. If Moyes does leave I think we may look at our own boot room and promote Davie Weir to the job.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sacking Moyes? Most ridiculous thing I've heard. 1) Moyes has over-achieved in his time with everton and is amongst the best managers around. 2) sacking managers mid-season is an act of desperation i. e. QPR's position through this season. Load of balls.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nowhere for him to go -cant cross the park, mancs x 2, chelski and arse are looking to push on to the next level and DM isn't a winner for them. He'll still be here next year but we need a shake up of attitutude, I'd welcome Harry, I like the way his teams line up and he's as much a crook as Bill K and that load on the board. his Lordship, the Mafia media guy and the fella who makes all those shoot and kill games our kids minds are polluted by. The peoples club you say?

if the board want moyes to stay the have to give him money to spend on players in the summer he not assed about a huge contract or he would have signed back him with funds an he will stay show ambition if not he will go simple as that

Yes DM will wait to see what we achieve and simply ask the board can you give me the funds to take us forward? If no, then I cannot take this club any further forward. He has achieved the same level with available resources for years, of course he wants to stay, but must be provided with the chance to improve the team. He is holding out to get this answer. If he signed a new contract, the board could relax and let him just carry on without additional funding. Davey is playing his hand as he should.

Moyes is saying its impossible to achieve anymore under the circumstances, we are at the Zenith, for the club to move on, the board must find finance or new owners, intriguing!

Agree0 Disagree0

Felliani will leave in the summer leaving Moyes with £25-£30 million to reinvest in the squad. I think everton will finish 6th so we will get European football, albeit Europa Leauge! We need to sign three or four players quality players to be able to freshen up selection and provide competition. Moyes will stay

Hearing what David Moyes has said today and what he has been saying in recent weeks/months, I'm now pretty much convinced that he will leave in the summer. I hope I'm wrong, but if he wanted to stay he'd surely sign now - what's the honest point of waiting until the summer? I just hope the players aren't adversely affected by the situation. I don't know where he'll go, but I don't care - although I'll thank him for his efforts at Everton. No doubt BK is preparing for the next manager. What's the betting that he asks DM for his thoughts - just like Walter Smith's views were apparently taken on board regarding the choice of DM.
Question: which (available) manager has a good track record in the transfer market, has successfully brought through young players, can work with a limited budget, and is thick-skinned enough not to be bothered by our many fickle fans? Answers on a postcard by 30th June to BK.

Sounds like Rafa god forbid. Personally would like Laudrup or possible Malky Mackay.

Steve Clarke. Anyone who can win and not concede at the rat hole is good enough for me! {Ed025's Note - he is a good man....but not in my top 3..

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed, I now need to know who your top 3 are? {Ed025's Note - martinez, laudrup and neville & weir....realistic choices..

Agree0 Disagree0

My top 3 are laudrup, Martinez and Steve Clarke. Moyes has done amazing and now we are going to have to give it everything to see if we can defy the odds and get 4th. You can bet BK will give the new man some money to spend plus he will have money from Fellaini and Baines. Can't see these staying unless as in moyes case we get 4th. Bale Utd look too strong at the minute. Good call on Neville and Weir, never even thought of that one. Not too sure myself.

Martinez? A man who takes Wigan to the bottom of the league, every season, till the last 7/8 games then is proclaimed a fantastic manager. Absolute joke of a manager. Some one said " a manager that will bring through youth and work on a limited budget" well what about De Boar? He has transformed Ajax into the team they once were and he will only get better. Neville and Weir? Too big a gamble. Laudrup? let's give him another season here before he's proclaimed the new Special one. (Shades of George Burley/Ipswich). I think Moyes is keeping his options open as he knows he has taken us as far as he can with the funds he has. Simple as that. No-one is playing games it just makes sense.

I actually agree that Billic could do a job. Not sure I'd give him our job right now but I would consider him.

De Boer wouldn't be interested get real.

Agree0 Disagree0

Steve Round is 8/1 to get the job, and that was posted about 5 weeks ago! Personally I don't believe Moyes will leave, but who better to appoint than Moyes' assistant? Learnt from the best hasn't he.
Not likely he will get it though and I don't think Laundrup will swap Swansea for Everton, especially if they win the cup, he will want to carry on there. {Ed025's Note - for me..round would be near the bottom of the list..

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't understand why people want Martinez, if you watch wigan play they are bloody awful and finish 4th bottom every season. I wouldn't mind Laudrup but he inherited a team who already played good football. I would prefer someone like bilic or de boar or if available mourinho lol. Neville should be a decent manager he already has the pointing down to a tee. To be perfectly honest I think that if moyes leaves we will be right in the rubbish unless we get some investment or a new owner with a lot of cash. Cheeks
