West Ham go on first and have interviewed Fonseca today. I wanted Fonseca don’t know why maybe champions league last 16 and winning the title on a regular basis. Winning mentality. I don’t know, but if silva comes in I would be happy with him to we all wanted him when we stuck £10mil to Watford for him so fingers crossed and it’s done swiftly.

I'm at a loss why people have given you the thumbs down Eddy everything you say makes sense from what's been said by a certain ED (can't put his number down or it won't get posted as he is having a break from our page) fonseca will sign an extension at Shakter which makes sense so I will happily give Silva the time he needs although I'm slightly disappointed we didn't go for Rafa.

Everyone’s got a different view but I will be happy whoever comes in as manager as long as big Sam has gone. I want a youngish manager who we all give time to build a team and a styl that we can apply for a number of years.

Rafa is to have a meeting this week if reports are to be believed and maybe the result of this meeting will have a bearing on our chances of luring him to the correct side of Merseyside. The top brass surely have a list of potential managers if and when SA is relieved of his duties and I'm sure Rafa will be high up on that list, well I'm hoping so anyways.

hopefully bluegray87 my only concern is the window opens and closes early so we need to be proactive early on.

Multiple reports that Sam is to be sacked within 48 hours and replaced by Silva or Fonseca. Normally I take these things with a pinch of salt but multiple different sources reporting it. Got my fingers and toes crossed on this one.

Reading between the lines it looks like a decision is coming on Wednesday/ Thursday.
Sam has said he expects Rooneys decision by Wednesday so expect that to be made once he has met with Moshiri and Kenwright.

Willing to wait Smit if it means he's shown the exit, I think both Sam and Rooney will leave but let's see fingers crossed.

Being reported Fonseca will announce a decision on whether or not he will be staying at Shakhtar Donetsk in the next few days.

Also a rumour he's met with West ham officials today I think if we lose him to West ham it's another mistake by the club but that's just my opinion I'd rather he stay at Shaktar than go there instead of us.

One rag reporting he had an interview with West Ham today while another says we are after Silva. There’s always so much conjecture with these things. Best to just wait it out I guess.

I'm pretty sure allardyce is going, dad was speaking to Sammy Lee on Friday, they're old friends and he said as much. Think it will be Silva coming in. If it is let's all get behind him. Let's face it pretty much anyone will be a risk. Silva oozes class and I think he'll jump in head first and do a great job. If his head gets turned in a season or two then it will only mean he's doing a good job so will be beneficial to us.

I don’t doubt you, but I’d be disappointed if club staff spoke about such matters - even to close friends - unless it was in the strictest confidence and certainly not before anything was officially announced.
Anyway, it’s pretty much an open secret - it’s just taking far too long for the club to get everything signed, sealed and delivered.

He doesn't know for certain himself, he just said the vibe they're getting is that they're both going to be off.
Hopefully any day now!

It's not been 24 hours since the last game. No rush.

Agree2 Disagree4

14 May 2018 11:51:47
I think there is a rush, as we need the new management structure in place to make sure the pre-season is effective and the transfer window trading isn’t rushed at the last moment.

Every hour that passes with Sam in charge is a wasted one.

So rush everything again and hope the chips fall in a good way this time? Or take zero notice of fans and do their job?

Agree2 Disagree3

14 May 2018 15:24:23
The club has had months to be making arrangements, let alone enquiries, for the required changes. If they’re not fully prepared, then imho they’ve been derelict in their duty. If they haven’t been preparing - and have left themselves in a knee-jerk rushed situation - then dame on them.

No rush I been waiting from the first day the idiot came, we need one now, he has to get his feet under the table, and sort the NEW squad out, and the back-room staff, it will soon be September.

So let get me this straight. On one hand, the coach we've apparently been offering jobs to, whilst still working at another club possibly? Isn't right for the job because they've failed due diligence (likely because they still have a job to do) ?

And we want B.s. out before anyone has signed a contract?

And the new coach (Whoever) needs to get his feet under the table now? To sort the squad out?
The squad that's just finished for the summer? Or the new squad? Is 5his the squad the new coach puts together or is this the DOF job? Whoever that is?

Ok all makes sense. Rush it again upstairs!

When FM appointed SA he knew it was for a temporary period. If in that time he has approached and agreed contractual terms with his chosen team, then cometh the hour it should all slip into place. If not then he is obviously not the business man we think he is. If he has already agreed appointments then those appointments themselves will be working in the background looking at the personnel they do or don't require before the start of the season (coaching and playing staff) . Surely FM will not let another RK scenario happen. I would not be surprised that when SA goes the new team is announced before the world cup starts.

Nick, this is Everton. When have you known us do anything ahead of schedule?

Agree1 Disagree0

14 May 2018 21:38:35
Yeah well probably why we are not in the top 6 and winning silverware. Those teams do plan ahead. Silly me to think we could as well :-)

NickB57: exactly - we’re not advocating rushed panicky knee-jerk reactions; we want the club to have been carefully planning for a while and now carrying out these plans swiftly and effectively.
