Something tells me lukaku may be with us next season. He is getting a lot of publicity still on the official site and over the everton facebook pages. He is 21 today
Would not surprise me if we have put a bid in already or another loan offer especially as Chelsea have just signed Costa.

Despite Lukaku's obvious enjoyment of his time at Everton and his clear appreciation of the support from the fans and his self-professed development as a player under RM, I suspect that his desire for Champions League football and the money needed to secure his permanent signing make him beyond (but tantalisingly close to) our reach :-(

Might happen, Mourinho quoted as saying he can't be bothered with developing young players as it takes too much of his time and effort. He prefers to let other people do the donkey work then pay handsomely for the finnished article in his mid to late 20s. So Lukaku may have to wait a while if he stays there.

We could pay the 20mill but he could get double the wages offered by us at a bigger club. A Champions League club will get him . possibly on loan again . PSG as a back up for Ibrahimovic (especially if Cavani leaves)

Chelsea have apparently offered him to Athletico as part of the Costa deal. They will have Champions League next year so that could be the sweetener

Its difficult to see Rom staying. We're already looking at replacements.

I love him - he's a great player and really helped us push for a top 4 finish this season. But being realistic - the only way I would feel comfortable buying him is if Bill is willing to give us £30M to spend this transfer, which is not going to happen.

We cannot neglect the fact that Europa will stretch us thin and we will need better CB depth and more capable midfielders.

In my honest opinion which again is based on realistic circumstances - I think we should proceed with buying young players and exploiting the loan market for those expensive guys that can help us compete. I'll post my wishlist in an individual thread later.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think he's as good as he thinks - he does some things well - like powering past people and taking his opportunities inside the box - but his awareness and distribution to others around and outside the box can be quite poor - so this is the reason he won't get to be first choice at a champs league team
We should not pay over the odds for him - there's plenty more fish in the sea (and Chelsea know it)

The Ba rumour looks like it could have some legs. 10 million is about our limit for one player methinks.

{Ed025's Note - fellaini?..

Ed, I think we're in a different place than when we signed fellaini.

{Ed025's Note - we are lant...i believe we are capable of a £20m signing mate..

If RM believes that Demba Ba can strengthen our squad and perform for the team, then I'll back his signing and support him - as I would any player who has the privilege of wearing the royal blue shirt. RM's transfer dealings - in and out - at Everton have been pretty good to date.

Mccarthy Yakubu Felliani all over 10m and before new tv money

Personally, I'm not buying it. I've not seen this reported anywhere other than The Mail (and then reposted on BBC Rumours with the Mail citation).

I'm not weighing in on the debate about which news outlets are, in general terms better than others, but when it comes specifically to football rumours the Mail is awful. Sites like footballtransferleague.co.uk (I'm sure there are others available, too) regularly analyse the accuracy of the sports pages and the Mail are consistently awful, particularly when it comes to teams such us ours whose fan base don't traditionally form a big part of their readership.

I'm not saying that I KNOW this story isn't true, just that it's going to be a very long summer if we get into a debate about every player someone links us with.

He failed our medical last time which was 2 or 3 years ago. His condition certainly won't have improved in that time. The phrase 'his knee could explode at anytime' was used by EFC as I recall

Its the Fail wouldn't read that bored on the bog! Just them trying to manage E.F.C players again.

Ed do u think roberto will go back in from fernando from FC Porto or mario Suarez from ath Madrid

Believable4 Unbelievable5

{Ed025's Note - im not sure to be honest adam..

We just need to be careful about the number of non-homegrown players that we bring into the club, because of the limit (17 at most) that we can register in our 25-man squads (both Premier League and UEFA Europa League).

Fernando is apparently going to City

To all the Kenwright haters. You do know that all the money DOES NOT GO TO BILL Kenwright for example if Elstone has 10% of the share then he gets the 10% of 86 million and it is HIS choice to give the money to Everton Football Club or keep it for him self. And so on with other owners etc so if Bill Kenwright has the larger amount of the share let's say 30 % he gets 30 % of 86 million pounds and then decides the amount of money goes to Everton Football club from his share.

Believable6 Unbelievable14

I believe Bill will discuss to Martinez for budget and target before share to shareholder.

The same applies surely to running costs of the club then, that bill would only be accountable for his 30% share of costs. let's be sensible and consider not all monies into the club are not divided by shareholders but are invested into the business as it would in the business world. Shareholders then take a salary plus dividend from the club earnings as their income.

Agree0 Disagree0

Firstly Elstone is CEO he is an employee not a member of the board. Secondly any owner of the club could only get a dividends payout from profits not turnover. Why can't people understand that 86 million or whatever we get from tv money this year is not profit it is simply an increase in our turnover and therefore may relate to an increase in profits but not by 80 odd million, it's an increase in tv money by about 25?million which if out costs were comparable to last year means a profit increase from one million to 25-28 million not 80 odd as some seem to think, it's as if we never got money from sky before. Which if that was the case would have seen us bankrupt and non existent years ago

Agree1 Disagree1

Everton is a limited company and BK and other board members are the major shareholders. The idea that the board can just "divvy" up the money - other than by paying out a dividend (which I don't think they do) or pay themselves a salary or fees (which I don't think they do either) or pay themselves exorbitant expenses (which I think their do either) - seems ludicrous to me.
Maybe Bill Kenwright is expecting too much from potential investors - and is making our club too financially unattractive or is trying to retain control (and the chairmanship) - but IMHO his problem is merely that he's not Bill'ionaire' Kenwright.

Agree0 Disagree0

Text correction - it's a killer!
The comment about exorbitant expenses where my posting read "which I think their do either" should, of course, have read "which I don't think they do either").
I really should check my postings ;-)

Pierre Michel Lassoga of hamburg, 20, supposedly wants a premier league move. Any interest from everton as he seems to fit the bill perfectly to replace Lukaku if we can't secure him next season

Believable4 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - He is only on loan there and not that I am aware.}

If we want someone from HSV. Eye Milan Badelj mate. Defensive MC. but skillful player. Suit to Barry role.
