{Ed002's Note - No.}

13 Jul 2017 20:43:35
Ed002 do you think well have to to the full asking price or do you think a deal can be struck for lower.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - I really don't know.}

13 Jul 2017 18:12:36
Wilfred Bony? hahahaha someone sack that journo.

Before you laugh and joke. Didn't I hear or read or something about someone saying we signing someone who previously hasn't been linked.

Agree1 Disagree1

13 Jul 2017 20:27:01
That was Benteke.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jul 2017 05:55:38
we had a chance to take bony last year koeman said no and despite being linked with him so much that ron actually came out and said no we are not after him that it begs belief that we now yet again are being linked i have no doubt this is his agent drumming up interest in the player and an obviously lazy journo who doesn't know his history. no means no.

40mil bid rejected for gylffi its been a mad transfer window how much money do we actually have rolling in it.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

13 Jul 2017 14:22:09
Who cares? It ain't my cash. if you want to be a serious challenger you got to splurge the dosh.

Agree4 Disagree2

13 Jul 2017 18:02:24
kind of odd the way swans are handling this you would think that now gylfi has had his head turned and by all accounts he has efc and swans would get around a table and thrash out a price. swansea at this point are doing themselves a dis-service imo they are trying to get a bidding war going without regard for what the player wants why else would they not negotiate and keep announcing failed bids. this is the reason good players don't go to small clubs. the worst case now for swans is if we pull out gylfi will never be the same again while at that club. that is if he wants to be part of the efc revolution. let's see how long ross is an efc player now city have walker and spurs have money to spend i bet we don't engage in this gylfi crap like swans.

Agree1 Disagree2

{Ed002's Note - No, they simply want the best price for their player. You make an offer that is acceptable and then clubs can sit down and talk detail of the payments etc..}

13 Jul 2017 18:51:43
I have to disagree with you Swansea are doing what we or any club do they want the best possible price just like we did with felliani stones lukaku the difference here is they rely heavily on Sigs so will want as much as possible if we want him we will have to overpay which doesn't bother me it's not my money.

Agree2 Disagree0

13 Jul 2017 23:09:31
It is no different to what we did over Lukaku it is buisiness.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jul 2017 06:33:57
yeh perhaps i should have said the player wants to come to efc, he told swans a week ago. what we did with lukaku is sell him to a club that met our valuation however swans have upped they're price twice now and refused to meet they're own original valuation, the price they are asking for is very unrealistic. it was originally 40 mill. stones, lescott deals premium was paid because they were english important for champions league. i have no probs with any team getting the most for their assets just making it public as they did with leicesters bid for the player. if you look back at lescott deal man city chased the player for 2 years and this annoyed moyes he felt man city's boot in his neck, and stones was told so much by the press that he had to move that the hype that surrounded him had nohing to do with efc's valuation rather more to do with the belief that he was a future leader of england team (what a joke that has turned into ) they put a price on gylfi's head we have met it and now the price has gone up nearly 20 mill this lad will have probs living up to the expectation of any move to us. you have to remember any player is human and the price paid by any team is the noose that fans tend to hang players with when it's not going right. swans no he wants the efc move and yet they are trying to sell him to the highest bidder that's my issue, and how fans can relate this situation to lukaku is odd we put a 100 million price on his head rom wanted to go to man u so we dealt with them for 75 so rom's noose at old trafford isn't as bad as it could be manu and rom can feel good about the deal and we feel good trying to close our wallet (it just won't close ) lol . they are doing themselves and gylfi a dis-service because they keep moving the goal posts name a price and stick to it.

Agree2 Disagree0

14 Jul 2017 11:13:31
I agree with ED002 on this. He was not put up for sale so they are looking for the best price available, we have come in with an offer and it was not acceptable. I have not seen any official indication that Swansea have actually put a price on what he is worth and have consistently said they do not want to sell him. As far as I am aware all the references to how much he will cost and what has been rejected has come from the media not vai an official statement from either of the interested parties. If we want him and it suits both parties we will get him.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jul 2017 10:02:31
Guardian reporting we've bid 40mill for glyfi and that he will NOT be travelling with the Swansea squad to the U. S today, everton hopeful of pushing a deal through.

be great that.

13 Jul 2017 10:21:27
now confirmed by Swansea, looks like this one could finally be happening.

Agree1 Disagree2

13 Jul 2017 10:30:55
Sky saying they have rejected offer.

Agree3 Disagree0

13 Jul 2017 10:37:33
It does seem that this deal has legs, but it also seems that we'll have to propose a deal comprising a basic fee and add-ons that'll come to around the overall amount wanted by Swansea City. I don't mind them playing hard-ball regarding the fee - after all, that's what we did with the likes of Stones, Lukaku, etc.

Agree2 Disagree0

13 Jul 2017 10:55:28
Completely agree they can demand the fee they want for the player but 50m seems a crazy fee for him. Feels like we could get better value for that money than what Sigurdson can offer.

Just because we have the money doesn't necessarily mean we should spend it because we can.

Agree4 Disagree5

13 Jul 2017 11:08:36
Agree that 50 mill seems a bit steep but this is the one transfer that could make all the difference.

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - its very high for me lee, maybe a player plus cash deal would suit both parties as we have a few we need to offload mate..

13 Jul 2017 11:15:41
I think we are being hit with a w@:ker tax no matter the target. We know Gylfi suits the premier league. Its a lot but we over pay now get a decent league position it gets easier next few years. Did I say its not my cash so I will gladly spend it.

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - its not like we are very fair when it comes to selling tallaght, the money we got for the likes of fellaini, rooney, lescott, stones and now rom we cant have many complaints mate..

13 Jul 2017 12:35:48
Player plus cash would be ideal Ed but I think they're holding out for the big money. Either way, I think this one needs to happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jul 2017 12:53:45
50 for Stones
50 for Sigurdsson
Steep but fair.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Jul 2017 13:03:35
Didnt they want Besic when we signed him?

Agree0 Disagree2

13 Jul 2017 14:00:49
Need to look past the transfer fee, is he going to improve us? Yes . Lad is quality . coyb.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Jul 2017 13:40:50
Same sort of deal we did for Lukaku I think, apparently Sig hasn't travelled as he is not in the right frame of mind due to uncertainty over his future, to me this is a deal that will be struck and in essence signal the end of any hopes for Ross. I will be over the moon with this signing the fella adds a new dimension to our attack, another striker/ target man and a natural left sided midfielder and I believe we will have a very good squad to compete next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jul 2017 13:49:24
Will be in an Everton shirt now he has withdrawn from the tour, just a little tweak on the fee, Swansea will sell now probs 42 Million with adds on taking price to £50 Million, be shocked if this deal does not go through now.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jul 2017 13:55:07
Proven in prem! Decent scorer at his club usually important goals as well! Dead ball specialist! 3rd highest in league for assists last year! Can win a game with a moment of individual magic!
Imo worth every penny of £50m
We have to remember Raheem Sterling cost that just because he runs fast!

13 Jul 2017 16:38:24
Read something other day about is GS worth the money being touted for him

Basically it broke down his last season and it's not as good as stats make us believe.

Apparently he is not known for his defensive qualities, so scratch that from his game.

About four or more goals were from pens

Think it's around half his assists from dead ball situations.

It basically said that if you take them off his stats record he is below avarage player for his position.

Turning 28 so a 4 year contract, although gets his so called prime years leave us with no real Sell on value.

And I know people say he got no game time, but he went to a better team than Swansea and couldn't break into there first team, must be a reason, he not going to be the best in training then dropped on match day!

I know it's not our money, and personally if we going to throw that at him so be it, but for that amount I don't believe that there is no one else out there SW has had scouted that couldn't cost less, be younger and have the same or even better qualities than GS.

I thought we brought him in for his eye for quality outside the Prem, who can adapt to the prem life style.

If he comes so be it, hopefully he is brilliant for us, but reading between the lines I'm not impressed with our pursuit of him.

What would Leicester want for mahrez?

Agree2 Disagree0

13 Jul 2017 18:07:39
yeh but he is a runner with a good engine and defenders have to watch all the time and this makes space for other efc attackers with better stats so despite him lacking in certain aspects his energy opens games, and all players have holes in their game, look at rom .

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jul 2017 19:35:58
Doesn't need defensive qualities as that is why we play with both Gana and Schneiderlein, take away his dead ball assists? Erm why? Is that like Martinez comments on goals from corners not being real goals? How many times did we waste corners last season because the taker couldn't clear the first man?

This fella brings us a new attacking dimension and sell on value is irrelevant as we ain't buying to sell, we are buying to improve, is Kyle Walker worth £50mill? Yes he is because that's the price Spurs want to sell, its now a sellers market as the money in the Prem now with the T.V deal is astronomical.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Jul 2017 20:14:53
That's what I'm asking though BG, will he bring that much, think you read what I said the wrong way.

And we do need defensive qualities cause the best teams defend as a team.

Everyone raves about his stats, and as said stats don't give a full picture, when you break the stats down straight away 4 or more goals are pens, LB takes are pens there fore GS brings 4 less goals, didn't Barkley get 5?

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jul 2017 07:52:39
Eds, couple of years back Danny welbeck was linked with Everton. I'm imagining that he is a player who may struggle to get the game time he deserves. I like Danny and think he could do a job for Everton. anywhere along front. Is he someone whom Everton retain interest in, and whom arsenal may consider selling?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - i like him as well jcl, but there is nothing linking him with us mate even though i think arsenal would sell if a decent offer came in..

13 Jul 2017 08:19:25
Interesting ed, just think he's staled a little there, and a move to Everton could be a shrewd move! Let's hope RK and SW read these pages eh!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - they do actually have people checking forums such as this to gauge fans views jcl, how much notice they take is debatable though as we would be employing 24 centre forwards mate.. :)

13 Jul 2017 09:42:29
Made me chuckle ed. I think welbecks ability, age, experience fit the bill perfectly.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jul 2017 12:12:31
I think Wellbecks only issue is his injury history, can we afford to pay a lot of money for a player that could spend a fair bit of time on the treatment table?

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jul 2017 12:24:25
In that case, I think we should be looking at signing Messi and Ronaldo.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jul 2017 07:35:59
morning ed, do you know whether we are interested in Arnautovich or is it just the Hammers going for him, thx.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - even though i like him degs i dont believe he is a target mate..

13 Jul 2017 07:51:17
shame that Ed, 23 million would get him too, I've watched him a few times and also won a few bob on him two seasons ago when he scored last goal against Lpool he would fit in nice, we were after him last season too, maybe aiming higher now or Rk isn't interested as he turned us down.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - yeah degs, i believe in a better side he would flourish but i believe koeman has his sights on other targets mate..

13 Jul 2017 11:40:10
arnautovic is exactly the kind of player koeman is after altho he clearly is a mercenary used us last year to get improved terms now using every trick in the book to get out of those improved terms. how long before he starts that crap where ever lands in the future would swerve him with no regrets if i was efc management liked the idea of welbeck tho would buy him all day.

Agree2 Disagree0

13 Jul 2017 13:54:08
Give me the Sig anytime. Don't care what he costs, he would give us one mega midfield. I would pay to watch that. Oh wait I am.

Agree2 Disagree2

13 Jul 2017 01:15:07
Ed do you know who is interested in Suso.

I think he would be a good wide player to bring in, doubt they would want ridiculous money.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - not really the right site for this but Roma have shown interest in him.}

13 Jul 2017 16:18:51
No worries Ed, thanks for the response mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - very welcome. I actually think you would be right though, he would be a good buy for Everton for the role that Siggurdsson plays but for a reasonable fee. He has a point to prove in England too.}
