speaking to a family friend of matt phillips tonight and was told he is pushing for a move to everton

Believable17 Unbelievable12

I was told the same thing. Hope it is true

Agree1 Disagree0

Same here to looks like matt philips is going to sign for us soon

Agree0 Disagree1

What exactly has he done to spark so much interest? I can't recall a moment last season were I thought he was Everton quality. We have to be more astute with our small budget. {Ed025's Note - hes a good player mate.

Sign Kaditis for 400-500k, Johnson on loan and Holtby for 8m! and another moyes gem!

Niang expected at goodison this week for 6 million pound move. Quite the show of faith from moyes for a 17year old! Source the guardian!

Everton are hoping to land French striker M'baye Niang for a reported £6million, source - the guardian.

Everton are supposed to now be leading the race to sign caen starlet M'Baye Niang after talks with arsenal have broke down he will meet with David moyes and others at finch farm in the next couple of days to see if the move would be ideal for him and if an agreement can be reached a fee of around 5-6 million is thought to be the required amount to land the forward with David moyes keen to add to his summer recruits by investing the money from the sale if jack rodwell

Little tim

Believable13 Unbelievable5

Niang is already on Merseyside mate source SSN. Mirrales due tomorrow also on SSN. Would be two great singings. Still need 2 more players . a right winger. I think we should offer Coleman as part of a deal for Matt Phillips as Hollaway likes Coleman as he had him on loan 2 seasons ago. Maybe Adam Johnson on loan or a surprise loanee or freebie which Moyes pulls out of the bag on occasions.

I have just been told by a reliable source that phillips will be an everton player for the start of the season

Believable17 Unbelievable6

I would like this to be true. {Ed025's Note - me too..

13 Aug 2012 22:37:41
Just to put Michael Owen to bed! He
is NOT signing for Everton. Owen is
to sign for Stoke in the next few days.

Reliable as it gets.

Toffeebidder {Ed025's Note - lets hope so..

Believable24 Unbelievable8

Im not disagreeing but I struggle to see owen playing for stoke.

He would have some merits in the squad, I would assume he would always have some racing tips and is someone one for hibbo to crunch in training.

Agree1 Disagree0

I wish you were right. But your not.

evertonroar

Agree0 Disagree0

Well the bookies have Knocked us down from 14/1 to favourites at 4/1

Agree1 Disagree1

He was supposed to go to Stoke, but I think they couldn't agree on terms, and I have heard rumours that this could be true :(

moyes at the preston v huddersfield game tonight could be checking out rhodes ?

Believable13 Unbelievable11

If he was checking on rhodes he would have to be watching the scotlnand squad training, coz thats where rhodes is

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyes will have a hard job checking out Rhodes mate.......and he'd need x-ray vision ! Jordan Rhodes is with the Scotland Squad.

Agree0 Disagree0

Or Moyes still lives in preston and the wife is doing his head in.

Agree1 Disagree1

Leave the lad alone smart arses he said he could be checking out Rhodes! and anyway, who's to say he wasn't talking to the Huddersfield officials.
Ecky Old Swan.

Dempsey, owen, phillips n johnson to join before we play the mancs next monday, what ya reckon ed? {Ed025's Note - thats pushing it a bit mate..

Believable1 Unbelievable22

13 Aug 2012 21:29:49
Apparently Everton have been granted first refusal for loan moves on the following Man City player : Dedryck Boyata, John Gudietti and most importantly Adam Johnson. I would be happy to take all on loan but that would use all our loans for the season up, meaning no Jan move for Donovan or Cahill.

Very Possible incomings I believe will be:

Dempsey
Johnson
Gudietti
Phillips
Donovan
Fetfatzidis
Kaditis
Holtby
Boyata
Some randomer no-one knows (Moyes Special)
Winston Parks . only joking

We have a very small squad, still three loan deals to use and 10 mil atleast to spend. 4 or 5 of the above I believe will come in, 2 pr three loans, one marquee signing and one randomer.

Who would you like to see come in ed?

EFC Chaz {Ed025's Note - johnson would do me just fine chaz..

Believable13 Unbelievable9

I thought we could get 4 lones?

Bobcat

Agree1 Disagree1

We had straq drenthe landon and peanuts all at 1 point last season, thats 4

Agree0 Disagree1

OP has gotten very very very carried away!
"Nurse, Nurse, NURSE! The opening poster is out of bed again! :-D" {Ed025's Note - that tickled me..

Agree1 Disagree0

I'm not sure on the exact ruling but it's something like you can have 3 short terms loans (Donovan) and 3 season long loans (Drenthe, Straq) that's why we could get 4 in last year.

whiteshadow

Agree1 Disagree0

Your living in dreamland sunshine.

Agree1 Disagree1

I may be wrong but i think it depends on the terms of the loan, I dont think a season long loan is viewed the same way as the is obvious attached to the one club for the entire season.

Agree1 Disagree1

So we are bringing in another 10 players?

How much do you think rodwell was sold for?
evertonroar

Agree1 Disagree1

Don't forget to factor in the wages element. We can't go out and buy more than say 2 tops 3 players because of the wages cost.

Agree0 Disagree1

13 Aug 2012 21:07:13
i have heard we have made an approach for james morrison of west brom,a very talented player, could have some legs in this one

Believable5 Unbelievable24

Hope he has his other bits as well!

Agree1 Disagree0

Would he really be any better than what weve got? im so hoping we get a wide man with pace,or the ability to beat a man.
ste c

Agree1 Disagree1

Not for me. Ill take dempsey and johnson. Lets go for defoe

Agree1 Disagree0

I would take morrison only if he goes out on loan to leicester first!

Agree1 Disagree0

I would hope we could get Morrison but we must insist that he has his legs!

Agree1 Disagree1

I agree. First thing moyes should check for in any signing is that they player has legs (no more than two, no less than two). Unless he want to bring cahill back. I would take him even without his legs.

evertonroar

Agree0 Disagree0

Must admit his second album is better than his first

If a big announcement is imminent, I believe it will be that David Moyes has signed a new contract rather than Donovan's return as reported by others.

Believable18 Unbelievable6

Surly Moyes signing a new contract doesn't merit an anouncement.

Agree1 Disagree0

If that is the announcement then it would be the best signing we could have in this transfer window !!

Agree1 Disagree1

INVESTMENT

Agree1 Disagree1

It best not be that Mr Owen has signed for us!!!!! will be devastated!!!!

Agree0 Disagree1

Donovan just played for LA in 4-0 win - dont think he is the news

Agree1 Disagree0

Who said there was gona be an announcement

Agree1 Disagree0

This is a Kenwright "Watch this space!" comment.... Anticlimax
DPM

Agree1 Disagree1

We're have these rumours of a big announcement come from-am sure it's people getting wrong end of stick about this agm

Agree1 Disagree1

There has been nothing said about a big annoucement, people got carried away yesterday when it said on ssn that the was big new coming out of Goodison and right there was but it was Rodwell leaving thats all.

I do think the will be some good new shortly though. If Moyes signed the contract I think it would be a safe bet the was some money being made available so it would be a double whammey. It may sound odd but Moyes not yet being secure could be a good thing as the board need to work to assure him to stay.

Following the sale of Jack Rodwell to Man city David Moyes is looking at Benfica Midfielder Axel Witsel £8m, Fulham forward Clint Dempsey£6m , Man City Winger Adam Johnson on loan and Michael Owen for free on a pay as you play deal.

Believable20 Unbelievable4

That would be awesome.....but.......cuckoo

Agree1 Disagree0

Witsel for 8 when benfica want 30 and united put 24 mill bid for him

Agree0 Disagree1

And then he will wake up and have his cornflakes

Agree1 Disagree1

Get real mate Witsel is valued above 20m

Agree1 Disagree0

Im pretty sure benfica want 30 mill euros for axel {Ed025's Note - you could get a whole car for that!..

Agree1 Disagree0

We best not sign Owen. wot a complete waste of space pay as you play or not!!

Agree0 Disagree0

----dog----
I wouldn't touch owen with a bargepole, he's knocked us back twice already and is only interested in himself. There's no I in team.

We are being heavily linked to bid for matt phillips an peter crough before the start of the season crouch has been spotted in a number of pubs in around huyton

Believable5 Unbelievable20

Yeah, that's because his Missus is from Liverpool, and he has a lot of mates from up here, he's spotted up here all the time...

Agree1 Disagree0

Never seen him in my local {Ed025's Note - he does not frequent the farmers arms..

Agree1 Disagree0

That pub as been shut for years.coyb {Ed025's Note - good...last time i was there, people kept pestering me for money..

Believable13 Unbelievable18

Dempsey will cost 10mil thats fulhams asking price, rather spend the money on donavon, amd a backup striker hopefully no owen

Agree1 Disagree0

He's with the england sqad

Agree0 Disagree0

Unless BK has found someone to invest in us I think I ve more chance of signing for the RS then us getting all 3 of them...come to think of it I am better than half the RS signings now...

George 62 years young Ha Ha {Ed025's Note - love it george..

Agree0 Disagree0

As much as i'd love dempsey i think we've got more chance of signing makepeace {Ed025's Note - very witty..

And more likely to get Bodie than (Kevin) Doyle.

Fellaini doubtful, Gibson doubtful. Centre midfield v ManU. Neville and Heitinger? (oh and Owen on the bench), the optimism for the season has just evaporated.

Believable8 Unbelievable21

Seasons not even started and ur already bein negative. going to be a good season 4 us so get behind the team and stop being such a neggy person. bill

Agree0 Disagree1

Nobody with any links to the club seems to have disclosed any info on felli and gibbo. Apart from the obvious that they're not involved midweek for internationals.... Do they have a chance for next week? If not I'll be honest I'm worried. Felli is massive and he is out Gibbo becomes more important. Both out leaves me little hope. Negative...maybe... Realistic...definitely.

Agree1 Disagree0

FRANCESCO!!!

Agree1 Disagree0

What ever lad talking crap you missed out Barkley and Osman and its no great shakes if we do play Neville not like he hasnt played there before not gonna shock the world with that revelation, Fellaini will start no bother i would put money on that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh well could be worse, we could have charlie adam an jordan henderson in midfield...

Agree1 Disagree1

For gods sake let the season start before spilling out your negativity nobody has officially said felli or gibbo wont be in to use a well worn football term play to the whistle {Ed025's Note - well said mate..

Agree1 Disagree0

Why is every one so down beat on us getting Owen. Who would you rather come if the bench to get that vital goal, Owen or big vic?? I personally would want Owen any day of the week. People go on about getting all these other strikers, but to do what sit on the bench! Don't think so do you

Wrighty

Agree1 Disagree0

So what if there out there's nothing we can do, and lets be honest rodwell on his form for the last few years would not have made a huge difference in cm for us

Agree1 Disagree0

I'd personally like to see us go for Defoe, and pair him with jelavic!

Agree1 Disagree0

What a blurt. Osman, Ross, Steven, phil, even jags can all play there. Owen is a class signing. OAO goal scorer not bad to have in your squad for nothin

Agree1 Disagree0

You can't call someone a blurt and then say owen is a class signing. He isn't a Moyes player. Ask a proper Newcastle fan about owen.. Also, don't jump on someone's back for showing concern and saying he hopes out best players are fit for a massive game.. How about not taking offense to something so minuscule.. Tell me we aren't weaker without Fellaini and Gibson. That's all the lad said. {Ed025's Note - i agree mate...and in future posts calling anyone names will be automatically deleted, the aim of the site is not to abuse other posters...be aware!!

Agree1 Disagree0

Sorry but Francisco, Barkley, Neville, Heitinga, Jags... Not ideal for centre mid against utd. Get away with it if they're in there with our big hitters but player any combination of these two and see what happens.. Too early for the young lads to carry so much responsibility. Osman crucial if the boys aren't fit Monday!

Agree0 Disagree1

I'm not that worried about the midfield, with the link up play between Pienaar and Naismith we will take the game to the mancs, plus Ossies work rate we'll be fine

Agree1 Disagree1

13 Aug 2012 15:24:18
It is true, we are very close to end the Adam J saga and take him. All the internet has blown and says that we could get Boyata and Guidetti too. I think that Adam and Boyata is enough, we can put some money in the bank. You'll see i'm right! Cheers! - Cosmin -

Believable15 Unbelievable11

Boyata is not good enough for QPR, never mind Everton

Meeting to announce Owen signs pay as you play, we will also sign A.Johnson for year long loan Wilfred Zaha,Matt philips and Katisidis to sign with the Rodwell money. Personally i think that the Rodwell sale was an excellent bit of buisiness he was to injury prone and wouldnt get past Gibson and Fellaini with Junior an excellent prospect for the future.

Believable21 Unbelievable16

Totally agree about rodders but must say i think the owen deal if it comes off cud be a good bit of business scored goals everywhere hes been

13 Aug 2012 15:32:17
right this will be a fairly big post my apoligies....

People are moaning about kenwright and the board: yes theyre not the richest but look where we are in the league without spending mega bucks? i know its frustrating having to sell, but how do you know weve sold rodwell to appease the banks? moyes could of accepted the offer and seen a chance to purchase some of his targets, lets not forget rodwell was not a starting 11 player and the money being said that we got for him is alot and too bigof chance to waste on buying other better players, when he was already so far down the pecking order!

transfers: everyone seems to want us to buy ince and phillips personally i think it would not be the smartest thing for us too do, we need top already experienced players, imo we should go for johnson on loan, and isco for 8 mill because of malags financial troubles, also we shoud try and sign the greek trialist, and the other greek winger we have been looking at, i think we need a playerr like isco or marquee signing to get us fans going again, just like it did with the felli and billy signings we all got excited! until we saw billy play obvcourse;)

Junior: ive watched him alot recently and saw some of his city academy games he reminds me of a skillful classier lee carsley, i think he will be a big player for years to come im more excited about him than ross barkley even though he looks an exceptional talent.

manny fernandez: would love to see him back on a free to bolster the squad abit more we doo need more depth!

Believable9 Unbelievable7

OP you're talking through your hat lad! You tell me Kenwright is doing his best! He's lumbered us with an ever increasing £45m debt... He's sold all of our real estate... Finch Farm... Bought-sold-rented
Everton One... Bought by Johnson- sold by Kenwright-rented back
And everyone's favourite Bellefield-Sold.
Rooney, Lescott, Arteta, Vaughan, Beckford & now Rodwell. All sold to service the debt....
Now we're alledgy to sign a RS Manc hamstrung has been mercenary... Having sold a 21 year-old full England international for 12m... Joe Allen 15.2m Jordan Henderson 17m & 20m for Downing....And all this we're going to buy this player and that... WAKE UP... We'll get a few on loan!!
DPM... I suspect this won't pass editorial either just like my other replies

And p

Agree0 Disagree1

Op, how am i? without kenwright we wouldnt of had moyes, snm!

Read 3 topics today. 1st - we have leap frogged the s***e in a loan deal for Adam. 2nd - moyes is lookin at some young Greek midfielder. 3rd - moyes stepping up pursuit of Dempsey. Personally I think the 1st an 3rd would be great signings. Adam is a big talent an a right winger (Naismith unknown) we've been missing for years. As for Dempsey he bags goals but also works his socks off. Owen isn't a bad deal either out an out goal scorer - wont do any harm havin him as an option.

Believable13 Unbelievable9

13 Aug 2012 15:05:56
Everton to bid for charlie adam as a replacement for rodwell to strenghthen the midfield not the best news!! {Ed042's Note - i dont think that would happen but who knows

Believable6 Unbelievable26

Thats not funny that omg you had me worried, charlie adam is total garbage he is one of the worst midfielders i have ever seen { i have seen a lot }, some of are academy midfielders are better than him LOL. Terry blue {Ed025's Note - we looked at him last season terry...a lucky escape me thinks..

Agree1 Disagree1

13 Aug 2012 15:04:03
HOPEFULLY...Moyes will do as he always does with a bit of money... spend it on a quality and potential superstar "Holtby" and a loan "Johnson"
What would everyone else want Moyes to do with money from the Rodwell sale? But be quick or the banks might beat you to the money!

EtidAaron

Believable9 Unbelievable4

Never watched or heard of holtby so not really botherd about him, johnson on loan would be great but we do need another striker

Agree1 Disagree0

Id love to sign either Holtby or Matt Phillips and then maybe Johnson (loan) and back up striker would do me. Most importantly for me is a decent young pacey right winger

JM

Agree1 Disagree0

Adam Johnson gotta be signed.

Agree0 Disagree1

I'd like Johnson on loan, Dempsey, Fetfadzidis and Rhodes

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Aug 2012 14:56:18
The usual annual takeover talk has gathered pace thanks to the agm. Can't see it happening-especially after selling rodwell. Altho I believe the sale represented good business sense-if we were getting new investment/owners I don't believe rodwell would have been sold

Believable10 Unbelievable8

I find the comments from his new boss as being rather poor, but anon, from reading what he gave as his welcome one mcfc site, it was something he might have progressed, he waas aware of interest in him for the past two years and sounded happy to go...well bye bye rodders

Agree1 Disagree0

Rodwell had not progressed in the last 3 years, in fact since he scored that goal against united he has probably gone backwards, he was either injured or not playing well, so to get 12m rising to 17m i think is a good deal

Agree0 Disagree1

13 Aug 2012 12:21:38
Any idea when information from the AGM might start coming out?

DBEFC

Believable12 Unbelievable1

Its not till 7.30 tonight.

Agree1 Disagree1

Nothing in it by all accounts mate. Carry on treading water while Blue Bill stays in control.

Agree1 Disagree0

Wish kenwrong would just do one

Agree0 Disagree0

Its simple really, it's not a club agm. Remember kenwright stopped thembecause people were asking pertinent questions but apparently they bored him. This AGM is for the shareholders association which s a group to represents small/single shareholders. They are choosing a new executive committee after some of them stepped down. This meeting and any news to one out of it will be of absolutely no consequence to everton football club or it's fans(apart from those lucky enough to own. Share)

Agree0 Disagree0

It's not an AGM. It's a shareholders meeting which will hold non of the main men

Agree1 Disagree0

KenWRONG has been a saviour to our club. You obviously can't remember the mess we were in before he stepped up. Yes we don't have millions to spend every transfer window. But we're stable. He got us Moyes. Has kept him here for last 10 years. Signs up our best players on long term deals and we constantly expect top 7-8 every season instead of bottom half and fighting relegation every season. Which is how it was before him. Be careful what you wish for. We could have the Venky's !!
D

Agree1 Disagree1

Well said D

everton should sign ince and phillips from blackpool in the next week for a combined fee of 10m.

Believable11 Unbelievable15

We generally dont gamble to much on unproven players, they have potential but were after ready made to make an impact

just saw an article saying how everton have leapfrogged liverpool into loaning Adam Johnson as city have promised to listen to everton first because of us selling rodwell to them

DB

Believable16 Unbelievable7

First he has to want to come to Everton
and second all bargaining power with city has gone now that jack has gone. city are now after Agger so the s***e will have more of a say if they really want him.

Agree1 Disagree0

A great bit of business selling Rodwell for £15m, Johnson would fit into the team nicely.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Aug 2012 02:43:22
The mail online suggests that rodwell's move is worth 12 million rising to 15 mil. Personally i think it's the 15-20 million quoted by ssn. Also the mail online suggests that everton are trying to take adam johson on loan but this has nothing to do with the rodwell deal. May have some legs as city would have to offload johnson before signing sinclair.

DraperEFC

Believable11 Unbelievable8

Gotta say i think this is a great bit of business. I cant see him taking off over there and with the money they have if he isnt doing it he will be replaced quickly.

Never worked out what Rodwell's game was or his best position. Moyes can work wonders with the money we got for him.

Agree1 Disagree0

It's £12m rising to £17m if he plays for England in tournaments or Champions League Finals or other things like that

Owen to be announced as an everton player today or tommorow apparently u heard anything ed? Joey {Ed025's Note - no joe..

Believable6 Unbelievable13

Let's hope not. I think this would be a shocking signing. Why would we want Michael Owen at his worse? I much preferred the Kevin Doyle rumour, a player who wants to play good football and runs his socks off every game. Rather than one who'll run 100 meters and fall over and break something. Yeah Doyle would of cost more money but Michael Owens way past his best .. which is a fact!

This is what Mancini had to say about the signing of Rodwell:
"Jack is a good player. He is young. It is the first time he is in a club that plays to win and it will be different for him"

What an arrogant piece of s***.

Believable21 Unbelievable4

But he is correct.

If the premier league champions who also happen to have enough money to buy any player they want, are willing to spend that much cash on a player, we are stupid to let him go. We are not playing to win. We are playing to hopefully get into europe in the next few seasons, and pay the banks back while we do it.

Still proud to support our great club. But dissapointed today.

Yeah gud luck jack workin with mr money mancini the wages ur on and wat u av spent buying them trophys no wonder you play 2 win u won't win wen u play us and will rub ur nose in it cuz its big enuff

Don't think he meant it in context its been taken simply referring to pressure of going for titles which will be new to him it will be new for Ager if he lives the other lot to join City

Agree1 Disagree0

I cannot stand the man just goes to show how classless a person he really is

Agree0 Disagree0

Typical Mancini shows no class or respect for other teams will make the win even sweeter when we beat them

Awkard when we have won 5 out of the last 6 times we have played them :P

Agree1 Disagree1

I hope this was taken out of context because it makes him look a p***k

Agree0 Disagree1

Exactly.....he needs to reign it in a bit....remember how shattered and beaten he was after the 1-0 at Goodison last season? More of the same please. Utd gave them the title on a plate, dont think they make the same mistake again

Agree1 Disagree0

Mancini why did we beat you this year 1-0

Agree1 Disagree1

A club that likes to win has he got a short memory we beat them 2-1 last season at goodison

After Rodwells transfer Moyes #1 transfer target is Dempsey. Although he has been linked with other clubs including Liverpool, Moyes is a big admirer of the American and will try his best to secure his signature now transfer funds are available to use.

Believable16 Unbelievable12

I could handle that... Dempsey in, Owen as a bench player, and then a loan deal to secure either a right winger or a more speed based striker to provide some variety. Still also predict Moyes is trying to offload Vic if he can and with that will free up one more acquisition.

Agree1 Disagree0

I've read this too, Moyes talked in the past with Dempseys Agent, and they are in good relations. Every rumour about Dempsey going to Liverpool has stalled and now it looks like Liverpool captured Gaston Ramirez from Bologna, so it's a clear way to Dempsey for us. Cheers!

Wouldn't want to pay more than 7 million for a 29 yr old who has really only had 1 good season and that was last year

Agree0 Disagree1

I agree that we don't want to be over-paying for a 29 year old, but the suggestion that Dempsey has only had 1 good season is just wrong. He got more publicity last year, but he's been a consistently class act for a decidedly changeable Fulham team for about 5 years now.

I've heard on twitter that Owen has signed for us. I'm not sure of the source's reliabilty, he has also claimed that RVP to Man U is done as is Ramirez to Liverpool, but if true, he is a proven goalscorer.

Everton have signed Micheal Owen. Will be confirmed tomorrow. This comes from a agent from twitter, I know people are skeptical about agents on twitter but this man is genuine and reveled details about Kagawa to United, Rodwell to City and lots more regarding teams in the North West.
Thoughts anyone?

Apparently Owen is set to be announced as an Everton player in the next few days. Could this be the good news Kenwright was on about?

If BK thinks signing Owen is good news i dread to think just how bad any bad news would be.

I would love a big name now to get the buzz going for the new season. Hopefully we might get Adam Johnson on loan freeing up the cash. Have always liked Steven Defour, would be class to reunit him again with Fellaini.
