Hi ed, was just wondering how far we are through the negotiations for Walcott, have we bid for him yet do you know. Cheers mate.

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal are aware that Everton have spoken with his agent and have a declared interest in the player. To the best of my knowledge none of the nitty gritty has been addressed just yet.}

12 Jan 2018 16:07:38
Thanks mate do you think he'd prefer a move to us over Southampton or would he rather stay down south.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I don’t know what he would prefer but it is Everton who are best placed to make something happen right now.}

12 Jan 2018 18:08:31
Imho his going to Southampton has to be considered more of a backwards/ downwards step than coming to Everton.

Hi Ed. Should we assume everton have met arsenals price if they have given us permission to speak to his agent?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - You don't really need permission to talk to his agent. They spend their time knocking on doors of clubs. But you do need permission to talk with the player.}

It's such a crazy situation isn't it. You can discuss anything with the agent, we'll pay this much, promise game time, bonuses etc, who clearly will go and tell the player. It's something that should be tightened up because i hate seeing players go on strike because they've had their heads turned. Impossible task to do so though when as you say, agents are always knocking on clubs doors. They'll just pretend they're discussing another matter entirely and discreetly bring up the player.

Some rags reorting thet Palace would use Van Aarnolt pardon the spelling as part of the Niasse deal, maybe just paper tripe.

Weird one this Guernsey, is he better than what we have at the moment I think he is, is he a long term fix maybe not it's like all transfers it will divide fans, just like the Walcott transfer some like me think it's a good idea others not sure let's see what happens but we need to trim the squad abit so Niasse going would free up space.

I hate to use this analogy but it's like Barkley a fresh start, that's what Walcott needs Barkley has his and good luck to him get Walcott in and watch him hopefully after a few games enjoy his football again I think he can be good for us.

I think Van Aanholt is easily an improvement on Martina. For one he's left footed, he adds a way more of a threat going forward at lb (see his goals record for sunderland under Sam) . More assists, he is quicker, strong and a better player of the ball.

That said, though i do rate him on his day, i agree long term, we may have to have our eye on someone else.

I'd take him as an upgrade on Martina all day, especially if we get him as part of the Niasse deal, now we have Cenk in. Little improvements everywhere is only going to make us stronger like Walcott will.

He’d give us options but I hope it doesn’t look as though I think he was it of Bolasie or Lookman whose best years are still to come. I’m still worried about lack of a tall striker with a good head. No point focusing on winners who can cross if your strikers are all under six foot.

{Ed025's Note - tosun has a leap like sock eyed salmon windsor so i dont think thats a problem mate..

Height not an issue if the quality is there. Just look at Barcelona.

{Ed025's Note - fair point woburn..

If he comes for a reported 20 million, I presume as a wide right attacker, what does that mean for the immediate future of Henry Onyekuru? I would imagine, when fit, he would be the successor to that position, so wouldn't 20 million be a lot for someone who would potentially only hold that position for maybe a year? Maybe I'm thinking too much into it. I'm sorry. I still can't get used to Everton with money.

not our money to spend kingo so who cares! decent player just adding to our list of options now, also be a player with a point to prove.

Also chips in with his fair share of goals good player exactly what we need at this moment.

We also need options and experience. A front 4 of Sigurdsson / Bolasie / Tosun / Walcott looks pretty good to me. And if we have injuries or loss of form then Lookman / DCL / Vlasic and next year Henri can come in. Been too much expected too soon of the kids this year.

Need a strong squad if ever we are going to compete with top four. Quality addition just seems to have lost a little confidence at the arse.

{Ed025's Note - wenger has done him no favours mate..

13 Jan 2018 10:58:14
Walcott would not come here to be a squad player.

I know there are a number of priorities, but, if Shaw from unt is an option, I would snatch their hands off.

Kurzawa all day long for me. PSG have said he's available for a reported 20 million as they need to balance the books in order to comply with FFP. Young, pacy, good defensive, good on the ball and French international. 20 million isn't that much nowadays. But coukd we attract him?

Great shout there kingo, but couldn't really see him coming to us as there are a few teams needing left backs.
