Ed are we really interested in lesscott he is over 30 now and we don't need players of that age out team is already ageing and if we where to get him £5m is way too dear £2m fair enough but we could get alderwield for £7m who is young and got a full career ahead of him

And do you know which midfielders we are looking at?

Thanks

Eddy {Ed025's Note - he would cost nearer £2m than 5 eddy. and i recon we will go back in for fer mate,..

Believable6 Unbelievable11

Distin will proberly retire after next season and Lescott is left footed and a experienced player, he would be a great addition

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree that Lescott would a good addition to our small squad, but I'd worry about where that'd leave Duffy - who maybe needs a season-long loan at a Championship side - just like Coleman at Blackpool a couple or so seasons ago. We're seeing the benefits of that experience IMHO in the performances of Coleman this season. On the other hand, if we're in European competition next season, we'll need all hands to the pump even if we get funds to enlarge the squad and Duffy would surely get more game time. Tricky one this, I'd say.

Tottenham want Leon Osman for £6million in the summer and are prepared to do a cash plus player deal. Good deal if you ask me, I honestly don't think Leon is good enough for Everton anymore.

Believable15 Unbelievable31

Im sorry but from the very first game against man u in august osman has been superb, he might not have had an excellent game, every game but more often than not he has been fantastic, if he wasnt there we would be crying out for someone like him, who battles for every ball, has skill, can score goals and never gives up

Agree0 Disagree0

Bit of a non story me thinks. The rag reporting it are no doubt trying to make a story out of Osman's alleged breakdown in contract talks.

What a joker!

Agree0 Disagree0

So he isn't good enough for everton or had a bad season? so that is why he has now got 2 caps for england this season because he isn't good enough?

Agree0 Disagree0

I just don't think he's good enough anymore, legs are gone despite having a good spell at the start of the season, it's about time we shaked the midfield up with new players.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree, Osman has been good for us but I think if we can get 6 mil for him great let's freshen things up give our younger players a chance and start buyi. g younger players, let's be honest he prob only got 1 decent season left in him

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed. Again he's been a great servant. Loyal to the bone. But we need fresh blood and more talent to progress.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd get Leroy Fer with that money -lankylad

Agree0 Disagree0

He's a brilliant role model for players like Barkley, we need him. I doubt he would leave anyway

Agree0 Disagree0

No way on earth would you get anyone paying 6mill for ossie. I hope he stays anyway. I think he still has a part to play for us. he can be a bit hit and miss at times but I would have in my team.

COYB

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd ask for huddleston or Naughton as part of any deal, if there's anything in it!
Mr Blue Sky

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally I don't like him an never really have, he gives the ball away too much an I don't think after this season he can offer much more, give him credit where it's due there are factors this season where he has played well an scored some good goals but 6 million I'd take the money, maybe even a player

Agree0 Disagree0

Spurs have average middle fielders coming out of their ears, I very much doubt ossie would wanna go there after seeing how pienaar got dealt with

Agree0 Disagree0

Would take 3million and Andros Townsend. This is probably not true but.

2 years in Mnster a long time ago mate, loved every minute of it

Degsy

Agree0 Disagree0

He's on almost £200k pw at Utd. Our highest paid player is on £75k pw and we have no money to buy players. Who said the Germans have no sense of humour? :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe he will take a paycut I just have a feelin he will come back but when I do not know

Agree0 Disagree0

He'll be back soon, but it will only be to play for united at goodison

to my shame I have some some united friends. who are confident that fergie won't retire until his number 2 ie boss in waiting has worked with fergie for a full season. as there is too much to know to just take over. and there rumour is david moyies as number 2 for next season. they are southerners mind but fanatics and very confident it will be moysie. I wish david would just sign again for us and shut them all up. tp.

Believable32 Unbelievable8

Unfortunately if david goes, its only what any manager like him deserves. He's done enough. Every year everton send out info about the season ticket renewals and this year him and neville didn't sign it. Shalke are looking very promising for champions league football and have been strongly linked with moyes and I for one am very happy for him if he gets that job. he's the biggest legend ever to have graced everton football club. Even bigger than dixie. I will always love this man till the day I die :)

Come on mate bigger than Dixie, I agree he is a good manager who has done well for our team with limited funds, before Mike jumps in I know we have not won a trophy in his years with us, personally don't think he is a legend, if he would have won us an FA cup then maybe yes.

If he goes then so be it, no one is bigger than the club, i'm split 50/50 as not sure if he will go or not.

Degsy

Agree0 Disagree0

How can you say he is the biggest legend the club has ever had he has done a good job and if he does walk away then I wish himall the best in the future but he isn't even a legend at the club legends win trophies the real legends are your dixie deans, alan balls and howard kendalls

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely, if that's the logic they're using, Mike Phelan or, indeed, Steve McLaren would be ideal candidates. Can't see Dave becoming anyone's #2.

Agree0 Disagree0

Absolute b******s.

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyes had the opporunity, whilst at Preston, to be Fergie's number tow and turned it down.

Moyes is a good manager but only our 8th most succesful when considering seven others have won trophies and he has not. Sorry to say it, but he is not the biggest legend to ever grace the club - Alan Ball World Cup Winner, Howard Kendall trophy winner as a player and manager and our most succesful manager. To name a few, I do concede though that he is a good manager and deserves financial bacing and the respect of our fan base. If he does go then I hope martinez doesn't replace him.

Agree0 Disagree0

I was told 4 years ago that DM was being lined up for the MU post and that it would be the only post he would take in England. If he does go to MU as big nose's 2nd then I hope it works out for him. I can't see him leaving to be a No2 personally and fully expect him to sign a new contract at the end of the season. If he gets everton into EC or CL then I would expect him to stay for one or two more seasons before going to MU as manager. I think he knows he needs to better track record in Europe before he has a chance at the MU job.

SA90

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with all the posters who think that DM going in as an APPRENTICE manager sounds ridiculous, bloody too right!
If he goes there it will be to run the club by himself i. e.

Tactics picking the team and identifying players he wants to bring in and of course kick out etc.

Could you imagine Harry Redknapp, Sam Allardyce, Martin O'Neil, Tony Pulis or even CFC's current interim (they are all interims at SB btw) going there just to tug their forelocks and pay lip service to someone else?

Blue247

Agree0 Disagree0

Biiggest legend ever, what crap! Moyes has done well at our club with what he's had so far, but legend NO he isnt!
For what its worth I think he'll stay at Everton.
Mr Blue Sky

Agree0 Disagree0

All united fans are southerners

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyes won't be leaving I don't think, and especially to be a number 2 at United. Behave OP.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its not crap lad. he's took us to a level wer we are really close to competing with the best. let's face it we were going down before he come. the last five years his respect as a manager has gone through the roof. ten years at a club, that fair enough hasn't brought no trophies but can't you see that a man who puts that much work into a job with a possibility that nothing will come out of it is very hard to come by. alan ball, howard kendall etc definite legends legend mate but moyes has done it all alone, and your right know one is bigger than the club but 'he is the club'. the glue that keeps it together

Mcgeady leaving moscow, everton moving in for him, personally I do not want him to join, he's nicknamed Mcgreedy

Believable10 Unbelievable9

Apparently he is really hard to get the ball off. and that's from his team mates

Agree0 Disagree0

Not a chance, his position is not a priority
