Rumours of a move for Lascelles from Newcastle don’t know a great deal about him myself any others have an opinion or know much about him?

Highly thought of at Newcastle. I'd have him in our team. Young and strong, can defend well and good at defending and attacking corners. Contracted til 2023 I think so probably hard to get him.

Good player imo. One of the main reasons they are staying up. Can score goals too. We looked at him before he joined Geordie from forest. Think he would improve our defence loads.

I knew he was highly rated at forest didn’t know how he had kicked on
So an upgrade on Williams? 😂.

Anyone would be an upgrade on Williams mate.

He's Newcastles stand out performer. Probably his brilliant CB play has saved them this season.

Strong character too and speaks well. Captain type. If Newcastle do sell, if be surprised if their wasn't a lot of interest.

Big step up for us. Scores too.

My American bulldog would be a n improvement on Williams. Defiantly has more bite about him.

Very good player and would be a good addition. Echo what others have said, strong, fast and a proper defender. Good leadership and seems to have a winner's character.
This is one of our weakest areas so we need also to add more quality. Others we should be looking at include Mawson, Nathan Ake and Smalling from the Prem and De Vrij, De Ligt and Chiellini (out of contract and a big last pay day may tempt him, still the best defender in Europe) .
Add at least a left back and a few midfield/ striker options with pace and creativity and we should have a good season, next year.

Phil McNulty don't know how reliable but has stated that Brands and a new CEO are on there way into the club with Sam's future in the balance apparently lots going on behind the scenes at the club like I said don't know how reliable.

Just had a notification on my phone from Sky saying Rooney has agreed to join DC United if true will wish him well . I know he was unsure about his future and the Sam will he or won't he I wonder if he's heard what is happening next season.

That's what I'm worried about, I hope this doesn't mean he knows Sam is staying. Think the move makes sense for both parties but you'd think he'd wait a bit longer if he thought a new manager was coming in.

any bitter feeling as he leaves again Lee? realised times are tougher than he thought and jumped ship? or genuinely just wants to play football?

I think he just wants to play football and knows he will be a bit part player so good luck to him if it's true brands is coming in he wants young pacey players and unfortunately Rooney doesn't fit into that.

I think he wants to play football wblue and good on him think he still has something to give on the pitch so I think the MLS will benefit from him being there. We got him back for a season and i'm glad I got to see him in a blue kit again even though it wasn't the Rooney of old once a blue always a blue.

Anyone know what the story is behind the rumour that Sammy Lee won't be on the sidelines for Everton's final match this season away to WHU? Mischievous fake-news OR something happening behind the scenes?

Where has that come from Bobby.

From a guy who runs another fans-site. He said, “Did get told today Sammy Lee has binned it from Sunday, but obviously have to see. ”.

Read with interest that Allardyce employs his staff and not Everton. While he gets a £6M pay off if sacked, his staff get 3 months wages. Says a lot about the man hey! Maybe Sammy is doing some early job hunting, or the new DOF has told Allardyce to get rid of him if he wants to stay!

He probably does that so he can work as a limited company providing a service with its own employees rather than an employed individual. That way he pays a faction of the tax which would Ben just like him.

rumour from Gregg o'kieth that Marco Silva is Moshiris number one choice and I would be happy with that but do have a concern that say he has a great start and a bigger club comes calling will the same thing as Watford happen at us time will tell I suppose.

i am not totally convinced with him TBH. i hope we do have a bit more luck next season tho.

Agree1 Disagree0

10 May 2018 09:44:12
I think we would of all been happy if we had got him earlier in the season but he didn't cover himself in glory the way he treated Watford and how it fell apart and we are now being linked with a range of higher profile managers it's a very big summer for Moshiri as we find out if he has learnt by his mistakes.

Just waiting for that final whistle of the final game of the season and then hopefully we will have a much clearer picture of what direction we are going in whether it's dare I say it Sam staying or a new manager with new ideas plus Brands as DOF of course.

Whatever we like to believe about where our club “deserves to be”, Everton have a lot of work to do (on and off the field) in order to become a winning “big” club - let alone catch up to the global “super” clubs.
Until then, it’s inevitable that any player or coach that’s successful at Everton will attract the interest of these other clubs. As long as this means Everton have received the benefit for a while - and we then receive decent financial compensation (transfer fee) and can replace with at least like-for-like (hopefully even better! ) , then I’ll accept it (I might not like it! ) as part of Everton’s strategic development.
When we can compete for trophies with the top teams, then we can start reversing the flow of talent, but for now we’re still below them in football’s “food chain”.
Onwards and upwards, fellow Evertonians.
